Following this cunning plan, Amanda arrives in Madagascar after an overnight flight. Needless to say, Angelo is pleased to see her.

"Welcome to the Madagascar Hilton! What can I do for you today?"

The woman behind the reception desk was bright and perky, teeth flashing white in her brown face. Normally the sort to make Amanda's teeth ache, but given the reason she was here, even her exhuastion, jetlag and Miss Enthusiastic 2007 couldn't dampen her mood.

"Um, yeah," she said, setting her duffle bag down, glad the woman spoke English, since her own French was still on the dodgy side, let alone the language the majority spoke here. "I'm here to see someone - Angelo Espinosa? Is he in his room right now?"

"I'll just see call and see... who shall I say is asking after him?" The woman already had her hand on the courtesy phone, about to dial the room number.

"Oh, can you not give a name? Just tell him someone's here to see him?" Amanda gave the woman a slight grin. "It's a surprise, you see."

If anything, the woman's smile grew wider. "I understand perfectly, Miss," she said, and incredibly, gave Amanda a wink, before dialling the number.

He hadn't been expecting any visitors at all today, let alone unplanned ones - but it wasn't as if there was any danger in this particular trip, so it was only curiosity that brought Angelo down to the lobby to see who it was.

As the elevator doors opened, Amanda ducked behind a large potted plant, watching him walk across to the reception desk. He looked good, the coiled spring impression gone under the relaxed body language and content, if puzzled, expression on his face. She waited until he had his back to her, then crept up behind him, laying her hands over his eyes.

"Guess who?" she said, chuckling despite herself.

Relaxed or not, he had jumped at the first contact, but only slightly - and at the sound of her voice, she could probably feel the smile spreading over his face. "Hmm... that's a difficult one."

"Forgotten me already? Shame on you." Amanda was aware of the woman at the reception desk grinning like a loon at them, but given she had her own silly-looking grin, she couldn't really find fault. "Let me give you a hint..." And keeping one hand over his eyes, she shifted around him and planted a very enthusiastic kiss on his lips. "That jog your memory?"

"Oh, I think it just might", he said, hands finding places to rest on her sides even without seeing her.

She laughed at that, and pulled her hand away from his eyes. "Hey, you," she said, looping her arms around his neck. "I was... nowhere in the neighbourhood at all, actually, and thought I'd drop in. Got a spare corner in your room for a hanger-on?"

The way he lifted her clear off her feet at that was probably more of an answer than what he actually said, which was a teasing, "I can find one somewhere."

She squeaked a little as he suddenly picked her up, giggling as he spun her around and set her back on her feet. "Good," was her reply. "Because I've got a whole ten days off, and I'm planning to spend every one of those with my boyfriend." And teasing glint entered her eyes. "Tho' you'll do, at a pinch, I suppose."

"I'll do?" he demanded, laughing. "I'll have to see if I can't do better than that. Just so happens the boss-man made this trip sound more like work than it actually is."

"What, Nathan was sneaky?" She pretended to be shocked. "That's just upset my whole worldview, that has..." He tickled her then, and she yelped, before pulling herself closer. "All jokes aside, I missed you, so here I am. Wanda hid tickets in a pile of papers about monkeys - there was plotting involved." And with that, she tilted her head up and kissed him, slow and lingeringly. "I really missed you. Stupid Asian gangwar."

By the time the kiss broke, his hand had found its way into her hair and there was a distinctly goofy smile on his face. "Missed you too. But hey, here we are, sun, sand, lemurs an' a nice hotel."

"'M guessing lemurs aren't the local drinks," she teased, brushing one hand against his cheek and temple. "And speaking of this nice hotel... It wouldn't happen to have a nice big bed in it, would it? Because if you keep doing that thing you do with my hair, I might have to show you just how much I missed you."

"Local wildlife", he corrected with a grin, not taking his hand away from her hair by a centimetre. "Cute little critters. But... yeah, it does have a nice big bed."

"Right then." She kissed his nose, lightly. "You, me and the nice big hotel bed. Sound like a plan for the rest of the day?"

"Sounds like the best plan ever." The kiss that followed that wasn't to her nose.

It was a good while before she could reply, and when they came up for air, her cheeks were flushed pink, her breath a little short. "That'd be why they pay me the big bucks," she murmured huskily. "'Cause I have the best plans. Now, let's get back to your room before they turn the hose on us?"
