Angelo and Marie, Saturday morning
Apr. 7th, 2007 10:55 amAngelo and Marie blow off a little steam in the Danger Room, Angelo learns a new trick with his powers, then they talk about their respective new relationships.
Marie adjusted her black leather gloves before stepping into the DR and smiling at Angelo. "So, think you're up for a real challenge Skin," she drawled. Walking over to the console, she punched a few buttons to pull up one of her favorite scenarios without waiting for a reply. "Gets the blood pumping first thing in the morning. Either that or gives you so many bruises that you end up soaking in the hot tub for the rest of the day."
Angelo laughed. "It gives you bruises, Miss Invulnerable? Or is that just for me?"
"Oh, Ah'll just get invigorated. But Ah try to watch out for you delicate folk. No rocket launchers for you." The scene around them quickly shifted into focus and the pair found themselves standing in a park with highrises surrounding it.
"City", Angelo noted with approval, looking around. "I like these scenarios. You program this one yourself?"
"Nah, Ah have no clue how to do any of that programming stuff. Ah just tell someone the kinda stuff Ah'm looking for it and then one day it appears." She nodded over his shoulder. "Incoming. Look lively." Pushing off the ground, she powered at the two bots headed their way, aiming at the one coming in from the sky and trusting Angelo to take care of the one on the ground.
He had no trouble with that. Especially not with the trick he'd been perfecting of wrapping his stretched skin around its "head" and waiting for the computer to tell it to pass out.
Marie had been a little more destructive in her take down procedure, little bot parts raining down from the sky. "What?" she said with a grin down at Angelo. "It's healthy to take out my aggression this way. Not to mention the whole fun part."
"Okay for some", he said with a lazy grin back up at her. "You've got the powers to do stuff like that. I just get to do what I can."
"Fun for all," she said. "You just have to get creative. Hey, can you make, like a slingshot?" she asked, eyeing the large group of drones headed their way. She'd gone bowling for 'bots before...maybe it was time to try a different technique.
Angelo considered this, eyeing his hands. "Never tried that one before. I don't see why not, if I could just figure out..." Moving to the middle of the street, he reached out to latch broad strips of skin to the walls on either side.
Marie grinned, rubbing her hands together as she walked over to where Angelo was setting up. The 'bots had quickened their pace. Floating up, she situated her feet against Angelo's skin. "Ally oop," she said, waving her hand for him to release her in hopes that he would serve almost like a big rubber band.
Laughing, he leaned back, stretching the skin out behind her feet, then pulled it back into tautness, sending Marie flying at the drones.
"Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee haw!" Marie cried out as she shot across the room, knocking the drones right and left as she flew through them. Of course, she didn't quite manage to get all of them, but the rest looked confused, as if unsure if to go after her or Angelo.
Angelo took the opportunity provided by this to charge at them, aiming to knock a few more of them down before their programming caught up and they started fighting back.
Both he and Rogue reached the drones at about the same time, making short work of them. When the last one had fallen, the green light flashed and the scene faded away. "We should practice that trick more," she told Angelo. "And you should see if some of the non-fliers will let you try it out. Could be a handy little surprise."
Angelo grinned. "The non-fliers that won't break somethin' if they land wrong, anyway. But yeah, I'll remember it. Useful thing for the two-person assignments."
"Not to mention fun," Marie said. "Ok, so now that we've finished our 'business' of the day, on to the gossip." She paused and waited for him to speak.
He raised his eyebrows at her. "Gossip, is it? Well, there has been talk I've caught about you an' Garrison..."
"Which isn't nearly as interesting as the gossip Ah've heard 'bout you and Amanda. Though Ah don't know if it counts as gossip when it's posted on the journals or coming straight from the source." Marie pulled the elastic out of her hair, letting her hair fall softly around her face.
"Well, you would think that, wouldn't you?" he said with a grin, turning towards the Danger Room door. "An' straight from the source counts when it's you two." It was affectionate, not an insult.
Marie grinned back, reaching out almost shyly to pat his arm. "Ah'm really happy for you two. You both should be happy and now you both are. Or, if you're not, you're much better actors than Ah gave you credit for."
"We are", he assured her. "Promise. An' you'd better be too, or there's gonna be words with Garrison."
Marie laughed. "Amanda said you were probably practicing your brotherly speech for him." Shaking her head, she poked him in the side. "Problem with you and Amanda is which of you do Ah have that talk with? 'course, Ah know neither of you would hurt each other, but that's beside the point."
"Kurt's already given me his", Angelo said with a wry grin. "An' you know what he's like, all quiet an' reasonable but you know he'd get me down here for martial arts practice if anythin' did go wrong."
"Yeah, and my money would be on him," Marie teased. "No offense Skin."
"None taken, so would mine. I've seen him fight."
