Ahab: Kyle and Ahab
May. 9th, 2007 03:45 pmAhab is one sick puppy. And Kyle is Zero for Two on the biting attempts. The fact that Kyle has tried twice does not go unnoticed.
Kyle wasn't even aware he'd woken up until he was choking on something in the back of his throat, thrashing his arms and legs to try to get to his mouth so he could get whatever it was out of his mouth. The panic he'd come to consciousness with grew when he realized he was strapped down, and then remembered what had happened.
"Clear his throat. Stat. He swallowed the otolaryngoscope."
"How the hell did he... No, don't tell me. I don't want to know."
He could hear strange voices, he didn't know any of them at all, and Kyle thrashed even more, until a large hand pushed his head back down on the table, and something pulled the -thing- out of his mouth.
"Blood pressure's up. Heart rate is through the roof. We have to put the procedure on hold until it goes back down. The chance of failure goes down dramatically if his body thinks that he's calm."
"Knock him out."
"Even with the accelerated healing, his system can only take so much. If this is going to work, we need to wait. Fifteen minutes at the most. Maybe not even five."
There was a long, drawn out sigh. "Off with you then, go check on the other two subjects, but be quick about it. I refuse to have any failures with these three." Rory waited until the others had left before turning around to look at Kyle. "And you were proving to be so helpful for a while. Why can't any of you be consistent? It's your healing factor that will be incredibly beneficial to this procedure but, at the same time, one of the greatest hurdles."
He leaned over the feral and snarled. "Stupid, disgusting beast. Best that you be put on a leash and at my side then running free out there where you could hurt just anyone. At least this way, you will still be...answering nature's call, so to speak, but in a way that benefits others. Mainly, me."
A moment's silence, except for the beep of the machines and just as Rory was about to pull back, Kyle' eyes snapped open. "What the...damn it!" Quick as lightening, the boy jerked his head up, mouth pulled back over sharp canines and very nearly tore into the doctor's nose. If he hadn't jerked backwards...
Rory's eyes narrowed as he reached for the setting on one of the near-by machines. "You, my dear child, have a bit of a fetish. Let's see what we can do with that, waiting period or no waiting period."
