On their way back from the woods, Red and Blue discuss a number of things. It starts off serious, but ends in cute.

"Thank you for showing me, Yvette", Kurt said, looking down at her with a smile. "I do not know if I would have found them unaided, and without knowing exactly where they were, I might have scared them."

Yvette nodded, half-scampering beside him. "Kyle, he is showing me first, and now I am visiting much, to be checking on them. They are getting to be so big!" She sounded proud, as one would about a pet, although her voice dropped a little sadly on the name 'Kyle'. "I do not think Kyle would be minding me showing you, and I am glad to be having the company again." She'd run into the teacher on her way out, and invited him along on the spur of the moment. She liked the quiet and gentle Mr. Sefton.

He was very fond of her too, and had been glad to see her venturing out of the house again. Even if it was only to the grounds, it was a start. "They will be grown soon", he agreed. "And perhaps Kyle will go out to see them with you again before they come to that point."

"It is strange, to be seeing him being in the doors so much," Yvette admitted. "But there are being the bad things happening, so he and Jennie and Marius is needing the... how you say? Space? Crystal is to be asking me to be leaving Jennie alone, and I am trying to be away."

"They are not healed yet, no. Not even physically, all the way. That will come in just a little time, though, and perhaps when they are physically themselves again, they will be more ready to see people." He didn't know that for sure, but he hoped for it.

"Sometimes, when the bad things happen, they are making the... how you say? Scar? In the mind?" Yvette tapped her forehead with one long claw, to indicate what she meant. "The bad memories are making things to be hurt. My mother... she is having this, from the war, and it is making her sad sometimes. When she is sad, she is not wanting to be eating or washing, and so I am to be taking care of her," Yvette confided. "It is to be hard, not to be doing the same for my friends, but I am not wishing to be making the mess of things and to be hurting them."

"It can happen ", Kurt acknowledged. "But remember, Yvette, that you are not the only person here to help them, as you were for your mother. And that there are other ways you can help them that may be better, in this case."

"Oh, I am knowing there is to be help. There is Mr. Professor, and Mr. Haller and Doctor Samson and all the teachers. And Jennie has Crystal to be talking to," Yvette hastened to say. "I am being the one small person, and it is better for me to be not in the way when there are so many very clever people to be helping better."

"You are one small person", he said gently, "but you are also their friend. I did not mean to say you should not help at all, just that you should not worry about taking care of them all by yourself. Or about making a mess of things."

"Oh, I am not to be taking care of them by myself. There are the people to be doing that. I am just wishing I could be doing more. And being worrying about them being hurt, in the head, like my mother." And herself, if she owned up to it - Doctor Samson was using terms like 'post-traumatic shock disorder' during their sessions. "It is not to be mattering - they are in ithe place to be helped."

"They are", came the soft answer. "But I know that does not mean you do not worry - it never will. And we all wish we could do more, I think."

Yvette didn't say anything, just reached over and took Kurt's hand, straightening from her usual outdoors crouch to do so. "You are to be taking the gymnastics in the new school year, yes?" she asked presently, steering the conversation away from helplessness - it had been far too much of a theme in her life lately. "I am being thinking it is the good class to be taking."

He'd been unconsciously not touching her - he usually left the choice of whether or not to make contact up to her, as he often did with Marie, and for similar reasons - but he squeezed her hand now. "I will be, yes. Are you interested in signing up, then?"

"I am thinking yes. I am watching Kyle, when we are in the woods, and I am thinking this body is to be good at the moving like he is. And it is to be my... how you say? Fun class." She added a little wryly. "I am to be making the summer school, because I am to be behind in the classes, even when the English is not making things difficult."

"And again, that is understandable, after all that has happened in the last few months." He smiled down at her. "I would be glad to have you in the class. And if you would like, perhaps we could start the languages too."

Her eyes glowed in response. "I would be liking that, Mr. Sefton. Very much." She ducked her head then, suddenly shy - Mr. Sefton was her favourite teacher at the school, and it made her happy that she was in his class.

He missed the shyness, or chose to ignore it, just smiling a little more widely. "I will see about putting you in the German class, then. I do not think there will be as much interest in Rom as a language, but if you would like to start learning it, I have the time to teach you."

"Perhaps you can be teaching me during the summer?" Yvette suggested, a little eagerly. "I would like to be learning the language you are speaking when you were being growing up."

"I can certainly start to teach you over the summer", he agreed easily. "Whenever you would like."
