Jan stops by looking for Kyle and spends some time talking to Mondo. Mondo's hormones are clearly interfering with the function of his Big Head and he's more scattered than usual. She aids and abets his hormonal fog. Backdated to Tuesday of this week.

"Hey, Mondo. Is Kyle in?" Jan smiled at the young Samoan who had just answered the door.

"Nope, sorry." said the florally-clad Samoan. "He's out with Julio, I think. I'm really not sure. Hey, you want to come in?" he asked, stepping back so the girl could come in if she wanted to.

"Oh, sure," she said, still smiling as she walked in. Janet had seen Mondo around during her visits to the mansion but hadn't really spoken much to him before. Her Peeps fun seemed to have pissed him off on Easter and he'd seemed ticked at Julio's way of handling his friends' disappearance and she wasn't sure if her comments had pissed him off again, so she hadn't really gone out of her way to talk to Mondo. There were enough people to hang out with at the mansion without getting dragged down. Tommy had to be cheered up enough, and that took an awful lot of cheeriness on her part. "How're you doing? Anything new and exciting happen today? Or yesterday? I wasn't here yesterday either."

"We're just taking it easy after everything that's been going on lately." he said. "No muss, no fuss, no stress." he said. "Hey, I was just going to watch some Muppets. Care to join me?" he asked.

"Yeah, sure, that sounds like fun!" Jan said, following him. "Who doesn't like the Muppets, right?"

"Exactly!" he said with a big smile. "And since I'm not all dressed to go to Easter dinner I wouldn't even mind a Peep or two." he said with a laugh. "Get comfy, I'll get the DVD started. Would you like something to drink? To eat?"

"I didn't bring any Peeps with me, sorry." Jan grinned, plopping herself down on the couch. "I don't really carry them around with me wherever I go, you know. Peeps require careful planning. So no snack from me, sorry, but I'll take something to eat and drink, sure. Whatever's easiest for you is great."

"I got water, I got Dr Pepper, I got some juice somewhere..." he said as he puttered around his suite's common area. He dumped an unidentified pile of stuff onto the floor and indicated that she should sit. Then he took his Muppets DVD and shoved it into the player.

"Dr. Pepper, thanks," Jan said, stretching her wings out as she relaxed. "I could use the caffiene."

Mondo would just have to explain things to Julio. He'd understand. He grabbed one of the sodas from the fridge, a bottle of water for himself, and then plopped himself down on the sofa with enough force to make the furniture protest. "Your wings are very pretty." he told her, coloring at his own forwardness.

"You think so?" Jan asked, beaming. "Thanks! I know they're not as cool or pretty as feathered wings, they're bug wings after all, like a mosquito or a bee or a wasp or something, and who likes that sort of thing? But that's what I do, right? Get small like an insect, have insect wings, and zap! Like a sting!"

Mondo laughed as he started up one of the Muppet Show episodes on the disc. He uncapped his water and took a swallow. "I know! It's so cool, especially since you're not stuck being little anymore." he said with a grin.

And she most definitely wasn't six inches tall anymore.

Jan removed one of her gloves and tapped the top of the can a few times before opening it. "Really? It doesn't seem to be one of the usual sort of powers, but then again a lot of powers that are like each other are still different, yeah? Still, other people can do so much more stuff that I can. Angel sets things on fire, Kyle's got the whole enhanced senses deal going on, Terry has a whole bunch of sonic stuff she can do... I shrink and zap people when I don't want to. What is it that you do? Powers stuff, I mean."

"Aww, it's nothing special." he said, still with high color. "I borrow the properties of stuff I touch." he said. "Lately, I've been able to absorb and spit back out stuff." he added. "I'd show you that part, but I still can't control it real well." he admitted. He concentrated on his necklace for a moment and borrowed the properties of the steel bead. "Feel my hand." he said, holding his hand out for her to touch.

Still holding the Dr. Pepper can in her ungloved right hand, Jan reached out to touch Mondo's hand with her still-gloved left hand. "Wow!" she said, impressed. "That's so cool. No one's going to mess with you like that. Well, I guess some people will, but only the crazy ones."

"Hey, I don't want to mess with anybody!" he protested - letting go of the steel but not of her hand. "I'm just a guy, you know? I don't want to conquer the world or run around in black leather or any of that. I just want to be a good guy, you know? Get a job, settle down, all that stuff. I don't think I'm really made for Grand Adventure." he said with a smile.

"I am!" Jan said proudly. "Or at least I think I am, only time will tell and all that stuff, right? But I'm sure going to give it a shot! I'll need costumes for when I'm big and costumes for when I'm small and they'll have to make sure I have use of my wings, but I intend to do the crimefighting-in-black-leather thing. I hope they let me put unique touches on my uniform, I have some really great ideas to make the leather outfit look even better on me!"

Mondo was a good man normally. A moral man, an upright man. But when she mentioned her ideas about how to make black leather look better on her, he just _had_ to look and check her out. He felt really guilty about indulging in this impulse, but he did it anyway. He could only _imagine_ what she'd look like in skintight leather. To distract himself and recover his balance, he gulped his water - which proceeded to go down the wrong pipe, causing him to cough explosively, spraying water all over the place.

Jan stopped in mid-sip, getting caught in the spray of water. "Mondo! Are you ok?!" she asked, quickly putting down the soda and moving closer to him. "Are you choking? Do you need me to hit your back or something?"

"I'm OK!" he sputtered, coughing to clear his airways. "Aw, man! I made a mess!" he said. "Hang on, I just wanna go clean this up." he said, heading into his room to grab some paper towels. He was NOT going to think of Jan in black leather. Nor was he going to think of her in a soaked top. Nope. He was a good boy.

Even if he didn't wanna be just then. Kyle or Julio would know just what to do, he was sure of it. Why couldn't he be more like them?

Jan nodded and smiled, putting the glove on her right hand again before
picking up the Dr. Pepper and taking another sip. "I can help with the
clean-up if you want. I'm not all tiny and not able to do stuff anymore."

"Oh, no! This is my mess and you're my guest. I got it." he said, moving quickly to clean up the water spray off of most everything. Finally, still blushing, he handed her the rolls of paper towels to clean herself up with. "I'll just - let you get cleaned up." he said, and then turned his back on her so she could dry her face and torso in a semblance of privacy. He tossed his soiled ones into the trash can, and wonder of wonders the shot went in without even touching the rim.

"Thanks," she said, giggling a little as he turned around. "Ok, done," she said a minute or so later.

Mondo turned around, trying not to stare at her chest and failing miserably. "Good." he said firmly, wrenching his eyes back to the cavorting of puppets. He re-took his seat on the chair and his hands fidgeted. He liked the way her hand felt in his, even if it was gloved. "So." he said, trying to take his treacherous mind _off_ of unspeakably perverted things that good boys didn't do before they got married.

"Which one's your favorite?" he asked.

"Bunsen and Beaker," Jan replied. "Who's yours?"

Mondo laughed. "They're so silly! Poor Beaker, getting shocked and having his eyes light up all the time!" he said. "I gotta go for Kermit, of course. I love Kermit." he said defensively. "He's awesome."

"Hey, I'm not knocking Kermit or anything," Jan replied, amused by Mondo's defensiveness of the frog. "He's just a more popular response, everyone loves Kermit or Miss Piggy or both of them."

"That's because they're the best!" he said with a laugh. "But they're all good in their own way." he added. He turned his attention to the television but he couldn't concentrate, couldn't focus. All he could register was ... her.

"Hrm." he said out loud. "It's a really nice day out." he said suddenly. "Would you like to go for a walk?" he asked her, praying that she'd say yes.

"Sure," she said, finishing her soda. "Maybe we'll run into Kyle. Hey, do you mind if I see if I can drag Tommy out with us? The guy's got to get some non-smoking outdoors time in."

Mondo didn't want Tommy to come with them. He wanted Jan to himself. But he knew that that was just him being selfish so he forced himself to smile naturally. "Sure, sounds good." he said with a smile. Despite everything he found himself liking Tommy - even if he did think that Tommy just needed someone to give him a hug.

He refused to even speculate about Jan and Tommy.

"Great!" she said, beaming. "OK then! Next stop, Tommy's room, and then on to the great outdoors!"
