Amanda gets a visitor, and finds out what's in store.

Time had passed. A full night, actually, spent huddled in a corner of the small room, furtherest from the door, knees pulled up and arms wrapped around them. Amanda wasn't brooding, though. She was planning. They weren't going to get out of this by overt attack, that much was plain. She still remembered the sight and sound of Belladona beating Angelo down, the cold-blooded way she'd told the two men to do him over, and anger burned, fuelling her desire to see this cunt pay. But it was going to take brains, cunning. A plan. Problem was, she wasn't coming up with much. No match physically, no magic, thanks to the bloody drugs they kept jabbing her with, not as much as a hairclip to try and pick a lock that wasn't even on this side of the door.

She hated being helpless. There had to be something.

The sound of the bolt being drawn jolted her out of the light doze she'd fallen into, and she lifted her head off her arms to see who it was. Too soon for another dose - she was still out of it from the last one.

The woman that stepped in the cell looked as smooth and composed as ever; obviously she had taken the time to attend to her appearance after her encounter with Angelo. Belladonna couldn't help a small smirk as she surveyed the scene and took in Amanda's huddled posture - who knew that Xavier's students would give in so easily? "I've heard you've been most cooperative," she said then, folding her arms over her chest. "That's very smart. I expect this behavior to continue once we take you from this cell. Is that understood?"

Amanda's lips drew into a tight line as she bit down on her initial response. "Well, it's not like I had a lot of choice, unless I wanted the shite beaten out of me like you did to Ange," she replied bitterly, not bothering to get up. Bide her time, see what she could do if they gave her the chance. "Where are you taking us?"

"You," Belladonna replied, stressing the singular pronoun, "are going away from this facility now." For the first time she allowed a vindictive smile to play over her lips. This part of the plan she really liked. "Seeing as you're not truly part of Xavier's, there's no reason to keep you here while we deal with those idiots in black leather. I have another destination in mind for you."

"Like hell I am." It was not much more than bravado, but splitting them up was bad - how could she help the kids and Angelo if she was somewhere else? Pushing herself up to her feet, she looked Belladonna in the eye. "I'm not going anywhere without the others."

"I would love to know how you plan on doing that," Belladonna said levelly, though inside she was celebrating. This blonde bitch knew Remy. If he had any feelings for her at all, cared for her in the slightest... then 'Donna was going to do her very best to break her, and badly. "I will not hesitate to punish the others for your resistance. Would you like the children to know it is because of you they are being hurt? Pain twists people, and I do not think they'll like you for long after that starts."

Amanda's eyes narrowed. "You wouldn't. You need them, otherwise you wouldn't have bothered with kidnapping. You just would have killed the lot of us in the van." But the thing was, she had already hurt Angelo. The thought of them laying into Angel or Laurie the same way was enough to make her feel sick.

"Oh, I'm not going to kill them," Belladonna chuckled, shaking her head. "But there are plenty of things that can be done to them and still keep them useful as hostages. And the benefit to having so many at once is that there are... spares." She paused, watching Amanda's face carefully through narrowed eyes. This was who Remy chose to associate with nowadays? Pathetic.

"If it's handy having spares, why get rid of me? Or are you scared of my bosses turning up and having a few words?" More bravado, but she was buying time, and if she could just think of something to do, she might have a shot. Her eyes flicked once to the door, open behind Belladonna. Obviously she didn't think enough of Amanda to bother closing it, although there was probably backup. "There's some very nasty people who won't be happy if something happens to me."

'Donna gave a small snort. "I know all about the 'nasty people' you claim will come to rescue you. If they're really so impressive, why aren't they here yet?" Of course, she knew there was no way for anybody to track them here... they had undertaken every precaution to make sure the students' disappearance was untraceable. "No, I'm getting rid of you because there is someone who requests your company, and I'm of a mind to be generous."

Amanda had been about to reply that they'd be here soon enough, or some such thing, but Belladonna's last derailed that response. "Someone wants me?" she repeated, confusion plain for a moment before she remembered herself and snapped the mask back in place, all the while running furiously through the names of the enemies the team - and herself personally - had ever made. Who on earth would want her? Anyone who knew anything about her and meant her harm was dead. Or sitting at the bottom of Jamica Bay.

"Mm, apparently you have a use besides a hostage. Who knew?"

'Can't have you mojoing up a rescue, petite.' A chill that had nothing to do with the temperature of the small concrete room crept over Amanda. "Who?" she asked, although she didn't really expect an answer.

A very strange woman, was what Belladonna thought, but what she said was "A very powerful woman. I believe you and she have an acquaintance in common... someone by the name of Selene?" The casual way she dropped the name was at odds with the hungry way 'Donna watched for Amanda's reaction - like a snake before the strike.

It was like all the air had gone out of the room, and the young witch turned white. "No," she managed to whisper through numb lips. This wasn't right, not again, not now...

Ah, now this was what she had been waiting for. Green eyes sparkled as Belladonna's lips curved into a slow smile. "Yes, I believe that was the name. She is most anxious to meet you, this woman, and I'm sure you and she will have much to discuss when you do. So you can see why you are not needed here - the others will suffice for my purposes, and your talents are in demand elsewhere."

No. Something snapped in Amanda then, and she made a bolt for the open door, dodging around Belladonna even as she knew it was hopeless. But she couldn't stay and let them take her, not when one of Selene's people was involved...

Very calmly the taller woman raised her hands, waiting until Amanda was clear of the door and well into the hallway before firing a blast aimed at her shoulder. Though the heat it generated burned through Amanda's leather jacket and slightly scorched her shirt and skin, it was the force of the beam that did the most damage, knocking the girl off her feet and into the solid cement wall. Raising the communicator to her lips, Belladonna spoke several quick instructions to the men standing by, then sauntered to stand over the blonde girl with a smirk. "I will be sure to tell Remy you tried to run," she told her smugly, lifting one hand to survey her nails in a show of nonchalance. "And I will also tell him you failed."

The blow had knocked the wind out of her, and all Amanda could do was lie at the bottom of the wall, gasping and sobbing for breath. The pain was enormous, burning through her nervous system like wildfire. As the guards came for her, she looked up at Belladonna, pure hatred in her eyes. "You won't even know what hit you," she managed as she was hauled roughly to her feet. "When Remy comes for you."

"Let him come," Belladonna snarled, her beauty momentarily disfigured by the unabashed loathing in her expression. "I will deal with him as easily as I did you; no one will stand in my way. Especally not that putain son of a bitch. I will see him rot in hell before he disrupts my plans again."

"You're dead," was all Amanda said, as they began to drag her away. "You just don't fucking know it yet."
Belladonna's laugh was postively chilling. "Non, cherie... you first."
