Sunday afternoon, the girls get that break they’ve been needing and plans are made.

It had been a day since the van had been hijacked, and Sooraya had not yet turned back from her sand form, except for some few hours of sleep, which she had managed curled up in a discarded blanket. She had never spent so long in her other state before, and one of the vague worries in the back of her mind made her wonder if there would be any danger to her because of it. That really wasn't the worst of her problems, though... far from it.

Whisper-quiet, she propelled herself through the vents, ignoring her growing exhaustion in her search for her friends. She had no idea what she could do to help them, but she knew she couldn't just let them suffer alone. If there was anything, any way that she could help, she would do it no matter what the costs. She only hoped it would not be up to her alone.

A wave of fear washed over Dani unexpectedly. She looked around, checking the other girls and it wasn't from them, theirs had subsided into a low ebb for the most part while they waited. So then where was it coming from? Not from the guards, they didn't feel of fear and this was a fairly strong feeling. "Curiouser and curiouser," she muttered half to herself as she wandered around the small pen trying to find the source. Why couldn't she be a telepath or a full empath? That would have been so much more useful, although it was a significant step that she was embracing any mutant powers, much less her own.

Crystal watched Dani wander around the small pen talking to herself. Well, that was one way to pass the time. Hopefully, the RA had not gone completely insane by their captivity. It hadn’t been that long since they’d been taken off the bus, had it? “Is something happening?” she inquired.

Suddenly, the sound of low voices reached Sooraya through the vents. They were female, and more than that, familiar, and she propelled herself toward them as quickly as she could manage. The grating nearest the voices led her into a small pen and she could see her friends there, alive and seemingly unharmed. She wanted to re-form, to speak with them and see if they were all right, but she knew from observing their captors that they would be monitoring the pen carefully. The sudden appearence of another girl would no doubt cause an uproar, and she didn't want to be captured for fear of being unable to help then.

So it was very cautiously that she slipped over the rough floor, a thin, shifting sheet of sand moving as unobtrusively as possible. The nearest person to the grating was Dani and she hoped the older girl would notice her without drawing too much attention.

Slipping out of reality when she used her powers was very easy, peoples fears were so unique and in their own way, calming. Horror movies never really held the same appeal after rifling through fears in someones brain, but Dani was trying not to slip too far out of reality. She had to stay focused for the girls. That was how she noticed the sand moving oddly. There was no wind in the pen and no sand. So the sand shouldn't be moving at all. She paused, focusing on it intently trying to decide if it was a hallucination or not. Cautiously she poked at it with one finger. Ah ha! This was where the fears were! "Sooraya?" she whispered at the floor, hoping it was the other girl in her sand form and not something else.

The sand stilled for a moment, and then very carefully began to move once more. It shivered and ran into several different piles that seemed completely random until they came together to form a messily-written "YES". Sooraya didn't have the time or control to make it neater.

The RA was poking the ground. The ground was… moving? Carefully, Crystal dragged herself closer to Dani and the moving dirt. No, this is not dirt, she observed, this is sand. Her eyes widened slightly as she took in the uneven letters on the floor of the pen. If Dani was going crazy, so was she. Sooraya!

Oh, good, there was someone to share her madness. That was a unique change of pace that she rather liked, especially given that it was Crystal who was decidedly not crazy. "Do you know a way out of here?" Dani asked, trying to stay with yes or no questions. If she knew the way out then they stood a chance as opposed to running blindly.

Again the sand shivered, splitting into smaller piles to form the words "YES" and "GUARDS". Sooraya had been watching long enough to know if they did try to escape, they would likely have to deal with several, if not all, of the guards patrolling the area. And given their current situation, she wasn't sure how feasible that was.

Crystal looked up at Dani. "Now we can know what is out there, and we can escape without running blind."
