this was a very fun rp...first one for me...so i hope it is good. thanks to bamf for help and adding to the funness quota and cool factors.


while going out to look at the eclipse in her secret spot on the roof, jubilee stumbles across the newest addition to the school--kurt.

Jubilee: thanks for getting me out of that place

Nightcrawler: I didn't really do anything. Ororo is the one you should be thanking

Jubilee: yeah i guess...but you did get me out of that *hellhole*

Nightcrawler: I can't believe anyone would do that to you. I mean, who could hurt children? No offense to you......I'm sorry, I know I've been introduced, but I've met so many people

Nightcrawler: what's your name again?

Jubilee: jubilee...

Nightcrawler: Oh yes, Jubilee. I'm Kurt.

Jubilee: hey kurt

Jubilee: so are you going to stay at the mansion with us now or are you going back to where ever it is that you came from

Nightcrawler: I don't really know. Professor Xavier has allowed me to stay here, but no one knows where I've gone. I don't know if they care though.

Jubilee: whadda mean no one knows where you've gone aren't you still here with us?

Nightcrawler: I am...or was...a performer for a travelling circus

Jubilee: really...oh the people you were talking about are the circus people

Jubilee: that's cool---the circus part not the people not knowing part

Jubilee: sometimes my mine just moves too fast---curse of being a 14...erm now 15! year old kid

Nightcrawler: if you're fifteen....how long have you been here?

Jubilee: ummm...let's see just about 6 or 7 months now

Nightcrawler: What is is like here?

Jubilee: it's different...like for everyone...i mean depending on where you come from you experience it differently

Jubilee: i feel fine here cause for a while i went to a boarding school similar to this one (cept no mutants)

Nightcrawler: So you've always gone to boarding school?

Jubilee: no i lived on the streets in and around hollywood california for about four months...before that i was in and out of foster homes...i'm an orphan (my parents *died* when i was 11)

Nightcrawler: I will pray for them.

Jubilee: uhhh...thanks i guess

Nightcrawler: there's a pause in the conversation while Kurt looks at the stars. His tail swishes a little. "Do you come up here very often?"

Jubilee: yeah, to get away from my roommate and the world of this school

Jubilee: ::looks up at the moon:: "great lunar eclipse isn't it?"

Nightcrawler: Kurt shrugs "I don't follow astronomy, but I feel comfortable above the ground, so I climbed out my window and up here."

Jubilee: looks at Kurt "i don't follow it all that much either, but i'd like to think that my parents are up there watching out for me. it just makes me feel better, especially on a night like tonight" quickly wipes away a few stray tears

Nightcrawler: "I'm sure they are. The dead are in a much better place than here. We must have faith that their suffering has ended."

Jubilee: "i hope so. cause they suffered more than they needed too..." shifts uncomfortably, still not over the deathof her parents

Nightcrawler: kurt glances over at the girl next to him, and she appears smaller and more fragile than before. He hasn't really met anyone outside of the circus in years, and all these new people....he sighs, not knowing how to deal with any of it

Jubilee: jubilee continues to stare at the sky. this man sitting next to her is the first person at the mansion, outside of the professor, that she has told the slightest bit of information about her parents. "so what did you do at the circus?"

Nightcrawler: Kurt sits up a little straighter, and begins to explain, beginning to get mre animated, "I am a flyer for flying trapeze--The Amazing Nightcrawler--and I do high wire, poi, and juggle in a pinch"

Nightcrawler: "I love to fly, it's the greatest feeling, to jump off the p-board and have that focus, jumping up your swing, preparing for your trick"

Jubilee: "ummm...lay people terminology??" raises and eyebrow

Nightcrawler: Kurt smiles, his teeth gleaming strangely bright against his dark skin, "have you ever been to a circus?"

Jubilee: "umm, i think i remember going when i was very little. if i remember correctly it's what sparked my interest in gymnastics"

Nightcrawler: "well, flying trapeze is what most people think of when they think of circus...that is when they think of the true circus, not those third rate sideshows" his tone gets slightly bitter before perking up again "you have a catcher hanging by his knees on one trapeze, and flyers swinging on another trapeze, and the flyers do tricks and the catcher catches them"

Jubilee: "ooohhh yeah, i remember those guys. you did *that*" jubilee asks, awe struck once again by kurt

Nightcrawler: "you were a gymnast? what was your specialty?"

Jubilee: "the uneven bars and beam. but i was excellent at everything. or so i was told. i just tried as hard as i could. i would lose myself in it. start to focus and the elements were all there was...no teammates, coaches, spectators, just me and the task at hand."

Nightcrawler: Kurt gives her an appraising eye "uneven bars? have you ever been on a trapeze? Swinging trapeze is actually sort of similar, at least stillwork is"

Jubilee: "no i've not been on a trapeze. my parents, and coaches were very much traditionalist and frowned on circus gymnasts"

Nightcrawler: "how long ago did you stop gym? Would you like to play around sometime?"

Jubilee: "hmmm, well i've never really stopped. there's gym equippment in the school, so every now and then when nobody is around i go in there and have fun. but i stopped competing when my parents died."

Nightcrawler: "it definitely takes your mind off things"

Jubilee: "that's the truth"

Nightcrawler: there's a pause in conversation. Kurt is trying to decide whether or not to get more information about the school from Jubilee he decides to ask her

Nightcrawler: "do you mind if I ask you some questions about being here? Ororo and the Professor explained some of it to me, but I wanted to talk to another student" he carefully avoids mentioning Jean

Jubilee: "i guess so. but i've got to get back to bed in the next twenty minutes. i heard something about the teachers doing rounds and checking on kids or something. don't really want to put them through extra worry" note that this is one of the rare times jubilee shows concern for anyone at the school

Nightcrawler: "well...." he doesn't want to admit he's never gone to school, but wants to know if he's behind. As his nature is trusting, he decides to go with it

Jubilee: "yes..."

Nightcrawler: "I've never gone to a real school, and I'm not sure what I should know, or what subjects yu have, or anything"

Jubilee: "oh that...i don't think that really matters to the professor. you see this school isn't like other schools...well the mutant thing aside. hmmmm" pauses to collect her thoughts on how to explain it in a way kurt will understand.

Jubilee: "you see professor x's focus and emphasis is not neccessarily on school subjects. rather he seems to base each students schooling on what they need. for example piotr and his sister. he focused mainly on their learningenglish for the first month or so, not whether or not you can multiply 2,000 times 46."

Nightcrawler: Kurt is relieved. "So what should I already know?"

Jubilee: "anything that you want to know. i'm guessing you know a little bit about the professor?"

Nightcrawler: "I only met him today, when he gave me the tour"

Jubilee: "well, do you know about his ability to read minds? but really that's besides the point. when a student first comes to this school, no matter how old they are, he works with what they already know, expands on that, and moves forward to anything else they wish to know"

Nightcrawler: kurt nods as she speaks. "Ororo told me about his mind...and we all felt it today..."

Jubilee: "yeah...that was a crazy experience."

Jubilee: bites her lip, thinking about whether to continue, it may not be her place...

Jubilee: "well i'm sure ms. munroe told you more about the professor than i could, i mean she's known him longer and all."

Nightcrawler: "how long has she been here?"

Jubilee: furrows brow trying to think if she knows that answer "honsetly i'm not sure. she and dr grey, who um yeah, well anyways she, dr. grey and scott with the original students, so i guess the professor founded the school for them. i don't know them very well, so i can't say when for sure, just that they were the first to learn here."


Nightcrawler: "Did the Professor take them in as children?"

Jubilee: "umm i don't know. you'd have to ask ms. munroe. the teachers don't really talk about themselves during class, and i try to make that my only contact with them. i've been told i have trust issues." yawns...

Jubilee: "i think it's time for me to go celebrate my fifteenth birthday by sleeping. good night. it was great talking with you. guess i'll see you around?"

Nightcrawler: "oh! Yes. I'll be around."

Jubilee: "great." looks around..."later then."

Nightcrawler: "good night, and God bless"

Jubilee: "yeah night, and same to you i guess." waves and then crawls back down her secret ladder to her room, hoping that marie hasn't alerted anyone to her disappearance
