Kurt has his own Parent Encounter. It's not going so well, but then Kyle comes to the rescue.

For being the biological parent of Kyle Gibney, Marjorie Gibney didn't look a thing like him. Where Kyle was tall and athletic, she was short and so thin as to be bony. She carried herself rigidly, with an air of distaste as if the mansion and its grounds had somehow offended her.

She crossed the lawn, the distantly sour expression on her face growing deeper as she approached the porch. One of the 'teachers' was just leaving the building, and for a minute, she paused, staring. That man was -blue-. Kyle had mentioned in one of his calls home that several of his teachers had odd hair colors, but this one was entirely blue, head to... was that a tail?

Kurt caught the sound of her feet on the grass, turning towards her with a friendly smile. He liked getting a chance to meet the parents, especially the ones who lived further afield and rarely came to the school. "Good afternoon."

The frown was replaced, briefly, with an expression of complete shock. "Hello..." Marjorie said. "You're one of Kyle's teachers, right?" She screwed up her face trying to remember what the boy was taking this year. The usual stuff, math and English and history, thank God this place was teaching him something normal. What else had he mentioned... The man had some kind of accent, but Kyle wasn't taking a language. She knew that, not -her- son. "You're not his gym teacher, are you?"

"I am the gymnastics teacher here, yes", he confirmed pleasantly, offering his good hand as she drew closer. "As well as dance and German. Kurt Sefton."

Well, that was somewhat of a relief. The strange blue man wasn't teaching Kyle anything really useful. Marjorie made a point of looking around the grounds and at the mansion. "I suppose that makes sense. It must be very hard to find a dance.. company? Show? What do you people call them?" She cut herself off before saying "looking like you do...".

"Oh, dance is only a hobby", he assured her. "For me, at least, though some of those I teach are more serious about it. I was an acrobat by trade, before I came here."

"An... acrobat?" If Kyle's mother's jaw could have dropped any further, she would've been able to swallow small rodents whole, like a snake. "A circus acrobat?" It was one thing to have the teachers look so odd. That couldn't be helped. But circus people? "How on earth did you ever get an education degree if you worked in the circus?"

"Yes, in the circus. I was raised there." His professional smile was looking a little more uncertain now, but... he couldn't exactly lie to her. "And I teach physical subjects, and one language I know as a native. I have never gained an education degree." Or any other qualification.

Marjorie stared openly, blinking in surprise. How much more inappropriate as a teacher could this man -possibly- be. She snapped her mouth shut, and snorted. "Well, I imagine that whatever degree you have is enough if all you teach is gym." Utterly neglecting to mention the other classes, of course. She would have to have a word with someone.

"...I find that my education makes me suitable as a teacher, yes", he said after a moment, trying not to let it sound careful. Not a lie, not a lie...

"Well, I suppose if that is all that your Professor Xavier requires..." She would've continued, if not for the sudden appearance of an out-of-breath and obviously unhappy Kyle, who gave Kurt an embarrassed and sheepish look, and then turned to his mother. "Mom. Seriously. Please just... don't even start, okay? Not today."

And Marjorie would've kept on, had it not been for the expression on Kyle's face. It wasn't anger, although she could see that on his face. It was that her son, who she had regular screaming fights with over the phone, was making every effort to not show how angry he was.

She was sure that whatever had made him mad was some foolish teenaged thing. But. He wasn't acting like a crazed animal. No showing off those -teeth-, no stalking around like he'd been caged. "Fine." She answered. If postponing this meant she didn't have to deal with Kyle flagrantly showing off his mutation, then so be it.
