Log: Dani and Laurie
Jun. 12th, 2007 09:30 pmAfter shaving Angelo's head, Dani discusses the consquences of doing so with Laurie.
Dani had been experimenting with fry bread all morning and was just adding the finishing touches on some with a four cheese blend. She'd be laughed right off the reservation if she had tried this in Oklahoma and thought that it was a good thing she wasn't. Of course, if she had been in Oklahoma, she would never have thought to experiment like this in the first place.
Laurie peered into the kitchen, trying out an innocent expression. She couldn't believe she was going to get in trouble for shaving Angelo's head. It wasn't like she'd done it to a defenceless animal, or something. Besides, it got him at least responding to something, and having fun, which he hadn't done for the past week or so.
"Miss Moonstar?"
"Hey Laurie," Dani wasn't very upset about what Laurie did, especially since Angelo wasn't upset, but shaving a teachers head while they slept was not something that could go unnoticed. "Have some fry bread," anything at all to make this not sound like it was coming from On High. She was an RA and held some disciplinary powers, but she didn't want to freak Laurie out either.
"Thanks." Laurie responded, picking up a piece of fry bread and biting into it "Nicsh"
Dani took a piece of fry bread herself and munched on it while she thought about what she needed to say, "Why did you post about shaving Angelo's head?" she asked. If she hadn't posted, then everyone could have ignored it unless Angelo wanted to do something. Now it couldn't be ignored. Angelo sans hair was pretty funny though.
"Because Angelo needed it," Laurie responded, without a hint of remorse. "He's been having a hard time lately. I figured everyone has. If I have to play the clown every so often, so he can spend a few hours not thinking about how crappy he feels, then I will."
Dani nodded, "Not what I asked. I know why you did it, but why did you post about it? See, if you had done it anonymously and Angelo wasn't upset, then nothing would have happened, but you posted about it, so now the staff has to officially do something about it."
"Because it was funny?" Laurie replied, giving Dani a quizzical look. "And I knew what I was doing. I wouldn't have done it if I couldn't handle any possible consequences."
She wasn't particularly sure she understood just what Dani was getting at here, if she'd done something worth 'dealing with' by staff then that would happen whether she'd posted about it publicly or not. The idea that you could just ignore something if no one said anything was rather silly, as far as she was concerned.
The staff could pretend not to know who did it if she hadn't posted about it, mutant powers able to find the culprit out not withstanding, "Okay. Well, since you have deprived Angelo of his hair for the summer, why don't you help him out by taking care of his laundry and anything else he needs doing this week?" It was more a cursory punishment than anything, but Angelo's laundry did need doing.
"That's fair." Laurie replied, but made an 'ew, gross' face at the mention of laundry. She had no idea what a guy's laundry would be like but considering Angelo was on the X-men, she could picture having to get out mud stains, and grass and all sorts of other hard stuff. That was going to take _ages_. "Is that all?"
"Yup," Dani wasn't going to bother telling her not to do it again or even to lecture her since it would have no effect, "Take some fry bread."
"Now you're talking." Laurie replied with a grin, taking some fry bread before disappearing back out the door.
She'd have to talk to Angelo later, although she assumed that Dani would inform him that she was meant to be his semi-slave for the next little while.
