Sound of Silence: Medusa and Blackagar
Jun. 25th, 2007 01:03 pmAfter reading Yvette's email, Medusa decides to check on her supposedly ill sister. Worried about Crystal's unannounced absence, Medusa speaks to her fiancee.
Medusa frowned as she looked around Crystal's room. A tendril of hair shot out to touch the covers on the bed that looked like it hadn't been used at all today. In fact, Crystal's room looked as though the blonde hadn't used it all day. Perhaps Crystal was just feeling better and had rejoined the guests...but Yvette had said she was acting strangely, which was concerning in of itself. Turning on her heel, she made her way to the study where she knew Blackagar was working on some last minute preparations. Knocking softly on the door, she slipped inside, the door closing silently behind her.
Blackagar looked up from his papers, a stack of policies and announcements already gone over by various employees, but which he prefered to check himself before final approval. His brow creased in question as he took in the expression on the rehead's face.
"~Crystal is not in her room,~" Medusa said, a touch of worry in her voice. "~And I have not seen her anywhere.~" Tendrils of hair flared out and Medusa didn't bother to force them back down.
The frown deepened. Blackagar rose from the chair and gave Medusa a short, small nod.
"~We will cover more ground if we split up,~" Medusa said, reaching out a strand of hair to gently brush against Blackagar's arm. "~Tell me everything is going to be fine.~" The knowledge that it wasn't going to be was reflected in the green eyes looking at him, but Medusa still wanted to hear the words.
He knew what she needed. A small thing, a human thing, and the one thing he couldn't give her.
Blackagar closed his fingers around the red tangle that was as much a part of her as her cheeks, her lips, her neck. Closing his eyes, the crown prince of Attilan bowed his head and gently pressed the tress to his lips.
Medusa closed her eyes briefly at the gesture, bowing her head towards her beloved. She only let herself relax for an instant before green eyes snapped open and she nodded curtly, spinning on her heel to set off in search of her sister.
