I know you mean well, sunshine, but no, we are not about to start bribing people not to act up. I will be cutting Amanda a certain amount of slack, since she's new here, and as you say, is here to learn control, but that does not extend to letting her off with a slap on the wrist, and offering her treats if she doesn't do it again. She does not get treated any differently to any student here.

I'd appreciate it if, once Jake is found, you'd let me deal with Amanda, and not undercut her punishment with any bribery schemes. As much as I hate to put in these terms, you are within spitting distance of her age, and barely half mine. Teaching adjunct or no, you don't get to be that kind of authority figure in anyone's life just yet, and most especially not in the life of someone I have to answer to my sister for. Be her friend, if the mood takes you, but please, don't try anything else - for all you best intentions, you may do more harm than good.

I was more thinking of talking with her about it over a smoke, but I'll be the first to admit I didn't quite phrase it right. Was in a spot of a rush, but that's no excuse. I wasn't speaking as an adjunct either - I was speaking as just another kid in the school, offering a suggestion to the people who make the decisions. I'm not trying to overstep any bounds, but in hindsight, I can see how it might look like I was.
