Nathan and Carlie, Friday morning

Early Friday morning, before his fitness test, Nathan meets Carlie in the kitchen. She is inquisitive about his powers, he is forthright. They talk about Columbia, and Carlie finds out the basic details of what actually happened. Then the conversation shifts to Maddie and her two blue men, and Nathan offers a suggestion that you just know is going to come back and bite someone in the ass. (Two words: Recruit Scott.)

( Oh God, you probably heard what I was thinking when I came in, right? I didn't mean to think you were kind of hunky... well, I did, but I didn't mean it like that, only I sort of did and I think I'm just going to shut up now... )

Nathan and Haroun, Friday morning

Nathan is making use of Mr. Treadmill when Haroun, in something of a state, shows up in the gym to take his frustrations out on the heavy bag. The two of them have one of those no-hitting conversations that results in Nathan visiting Haroun's mindscape and figuring out that something a little odd is going on there.

Jay & Dani, Friday early afternoon

Dani goes to find Forge and meets a half-naked Jay instead. The cowboy and the Indian bond over mutual music tastes and a distaste for Yankees.

Nathan and Doug, Friday afternoon

Sometime after his adventures with the robotic squid, Doug wanders into the kitchen and finds Nathan making a chocolate jalapeno cake to take with him to Muir for Moira. The two of them chat idly, then less idly as the subject turns to the X-Men. Doug gives voice to some of the thoughts he's been having on that score; Nathan is supportive, but warns him to take a balanced perspective on idealism and realism, whatever road he winds up following.

( Uh, am I missing something? Did my mouth open and inform you that there was no point to idealism when I wasn't keeping an eye on it? )

Madelyn, Alison - Friday afternoon
