Backdated: Kevin spots Jay trying to do the impossible in the gym. (After this)

Well, that was a giant failure. Technically Kevin shouldn't have let her storm off to awful movies with Kyle, but what did he know about calming down emotional, crazy female? Seriously, there was just nothing in her repertoire that could handle that. Maybe she'd calm down. And maybe when she did he could talk sense to her. The sort of sense that pointed out that yes he lied in a very minute way but considering the situation it should be forgiven. How was he supposed to win her back over this?

Kevin went wandering around the mansion after ditching his laptop and bag in his room. He told himself he wasn't looking for anyone. He told himself that what he sought was peace and silence and maybe a way to either shut his brain up or jump start it into some fabulously inspired answer to solve the problem of him being dubbed a liar by Nori. Neither of those last two were likely to happen and the first two he could have had in the empty suite. Coming into the gym Kevin had to admit he'd hardly been wandering aimlessly. There'd been scattered feathers through the halls. It was just like following scattered bread crumbs.

Jay was doing something gymnastics-like. Kevin knew less about gymnastics than he did astrophysics so about all he could get to was gymnastics-like as a description. He could have spoke, said something, but instead he leaned against a wall and quietly watched his boyfriend move. Really, it'd be a shame to disturb that view by speaking.

Gymnastic-like was hardly what he was accomplishing. Two rings hung from the ceiling and Jay was in mid air, flapping his wings, hanging from them. He was trying to lift the weight from himself, while pulling himself up between the rings but he couldn't quite accomplish the manoeuvre. He wanted to lift up, tuck and try to swing, maybe change his direction, but he knew as much about gymnastics as he did about plumbing. He probably knew more about plumbing.

Frantically, he tried to keep himself airborne but he was tiring out, and feathers were going everywhere. He felt like a helpless kid hanging from monkey bars, stretched out, and kicking his feet. Finally his fingers gave out, but instead of landing gracefully like he usually did, Jay landed with a thump and his knees buckled out from under him.

"Ugh," he groaned from his back, thinking how stupid that was to try it out without anyone to help. What was he thinking? Oh right, Kyle was flexible, which could get him out of trouble. Forge was smart, and that always got him out of trouble. Jay was nothing, except his wings, and that wasn't great for fighting someone trying to kill him. He'd just be a deer in front of headlights, jumping out of the way. Useless.

He could have just laid there for ten minutes, but determination to officially quit had him sitting up to see Kevin. "Tell me you just walked in?"

"Just walked in," Kevin echoed back. Jay didn't ask for it to be the truth, just for him to say it. The problem was, really, just not laughing at the way he'd flopped down like that. The flailing was, well, it was quite a sight and Kevin couldn't interrupt by drawing attention to himself. Kevin, however, was going to be a good boyfriend and do his best to not make fun of his boyfriend. He was probably going to fail.

After talking to Nori Kevin's accent had stayed true to his roots, a fact that bugged him a little but it was too much trouble changing it back on his own. It'd get there eventually, he figured. "Y'know, Ah think there're people who could help ya out with that rings thing. If ya wanted it." He walked over slowly, erasing that half-smirking smile off his face as he got closer. "Don't figure you're supposed to be laying down there for the rings. Ain't ya supposed to be up there?" He nodded up at the rings as he stopped, one foot on either side of Jay near his legs.

Reaching down, Kevin offered a gloved hand to help Jay up.

"Yeah Ah know. Ah just thought Ah'd try it out myself an' see how well Ah do before Ah ask fer help." That and he was embarrassed to ask for help. It would be another thing to add to the list of many, that he couldn't do himself. But he didn’t' let it get him down, because Kevin stood in front of him and he took that moment to appreciate the view.

"Ah see 'em. Ah'm just, ya know, takin' a break from all that hard work Ah'm doin'." He made it look as casual as possible, lingering on the floor, letting his head fall back and stared at the rings above him. "Ah reckon' Ah could try again, but then it'd be givin' ya somethin' to laugh 'bout fer a week." He liked to think that Kevin only walked in after he fell. The hand held out drew him back, and he reached up, grabbing Kevin and pulling him down on top of him.

"Y'know Ah'd be right unpleasant if you went an' landed yourself in the med labs messing around on those by yourself. Ah's have less laundry to do, an' Ah'd be able to sleep without bein' so clothed, an' not wake up in the middle of the night because someone's wing likes to try to play blanket. Actually, on second thought..." he laughed, entirely kidding. Jay landing in the med labs period would likely make Kevin less than happy, but more in that worried way than anything. He really hated admitting stuff like that, even to himself, but it was pretty obvious anyway.

"Now would Ah laugh at you?" Kevin was all prepared to pull Jay up when his hand reached up, but he found himself on a sudden downward trajectory. Luckily for Jay Kevin had quick reflexes, mostly thanks to his infinite paranoia where hurting people was concerned. He landed on his knees, which he pressed to Jay’s hips, and one hand that was over Jay's shoulder. "What, you lookin' to get yourself all tired out other ways now?" Kevin arched an eyebrow down at Jay, pulling his hand free so he could smooth his hair back, taking away the threat it posed.

"Ya seem to be laughing now, aren’t cha?" Jay wasn't concerned with where Kevin fell, that only he fell on top of him, right where he wanted. Adjusting his hips, he bounced Kevin on the spot, like he was riding him, and smirked, running a hand down his boyfriend's chest to a loop hole in his jeans. He tugged at it. "Now Ah should be gettin' somethin' fer that remark 'bout the med lab," he teased, his thumb running up the object of his affections. "Ah could be, though Ah think Ah'd have some energy to spare fer that." His other free hand rubbed Kevin's thigh and right at that moment, he was content to lie on the floor, wings sprawled haphazardly, feathers surrounding them. They must have been a sight. Jay didn't care, he was proud to be with Kevin, positively infatuated with his boyfriend and their relationship. "What're ya doin' 'ere, aside from spyin' on me?"

"Totally innocent laughing, not mean, mockin' laughing." It was still sort of the amazing how Jay managed to either send Kevin into a panic attack or make him smile instantly. There was never any grey area. Either they were fighting or freaking out, or they were happy. Clearly the preference was for the latter, but Kevin wouldn't have even complained about the former if pressed about it. It all meant he got Jay, got looks like that and stolen moments like this. It was worth it.

"Hm, how much you figure Ah owe you for that comment, huh?" Kevin leaned down, lips only a breath away from his boyfriend's. His hand cradled the side of Jay's face, thumb idly rubbing back and forth over his cheek bone. "One kiss?" The words were mumbled, eyes falling shut as he carefully caught the lips his had been hovering over in a sweet, short kiss. "Two maybe? Three?" After every question he kissed Jay again, always soft, always lingering only just enough to make Kevin want to go back. He continued until he'd reached seven, deciding he liked that number.

Seven also just fed so easily into the completely cheesy line Kevin couldn't resist. "Other than spyin'? Ah saw feathers callin' to me, figured Ah follow 'em an' Ah'd find heaven. Didn't find heaven, but Ah went an' found me an angel so I figure that's good enough, huh?" It took a great deal of effort to not laugh at himself for saying that, hopelessly sappy as it was, despite the small echoes of truth. His smile, though, that took no effort at all when he was staring down at Jay this close.

"Ya sure yer not mockin' me, cause that looks like ya are," he said, unbelieving. His hand ran up Kevin's thigh to his shirt, and toyed with the hem, enjoying the musk scent that he couldn't seem to get enough of. "A lot an' maybe then some more," came his reply. It would be so easy to reach beneath that shirt, touch Kevin's skin, but for that one factor that always kept him at bay. Instead, his hand went over the fabric, sliding around the small of Kevin's back to pull him closer.

The kisses were tender, playful and he met it with equal affections, a smile growing as Kevin counted. Even though things were wrong with friends and nothing was ever straight with family, Jay could overlook everything if he only could have a few moments with his boyfriend. It still astounded him that he won Kevin's heart over, even though it took sometime and some barriers to break down. He still succeeded and was rewarded far more then he could have imagined.

It was the boyish charm that melted Jay on the spot and he could dine on those words forever. It was so easy for Kevin to wrap Jay up, even with the cheesy lines; he couldn't have wanted anything less. But he didn't want to get serious mushy on Kevin, instead sat up and rolled Kevin onto his back, taking over the dominate position. That wouldn't last long. "This angel could take ya to heaven," he teased, flapping his wings once to realign the feathers, taking away the discomfort they caused in their disarray. "But ya'd have ta want it real bad."

"Not mockin', Ah swear. Why would Ah go an' do a thing like that for?" Other than the fact that it was entirely easy and of course just begging to be done. It was important for a person to have a sense of humor, not that Kevin was really known for having one of those at all. He had one, though, sometimes Fred his Doom Cloud buried it so deeply even Kevin was sure it didn't exist, but it was there somewhere. Lurking, always lurking. And then resisting the urge to mock, or gently tease. Maybe resistance didn't really work out too well.

Jay wasn't exactly the strongest of the pair, but Kevin rarely put up much of a fight against him. It made the two rolling over an easy transition, Kevin's arms naturally moving to loop around Jay's waist once he found himself flat on his back. "Hafta want it real bad, huh?" Kevin tried to bite back a mischievous smirk, only to mostly fail as the corners of his mouth pulled upward despite his teeth restraining much of his lower lip. "Hm, Ah don't think wantin' it real bad's a problem, there. But ya might hafta remind me it's heaven I'm supposed to be wantin', an' not just you."

"Cause that's wha' ya do ta me when ya want ma attention." Jay smirked back, lowering his body over Kevin's, his chest resting against the muscle beneath. Bending his legs, he balanced thighs against thighs, crossing his legs in the air and used his wings for balance. Pressing his elbows into the shoulders below, he rested his fists against his chin, simply glowing, beaming at his boyfriend.

He gave half a snort to the heaven remark, and began to hum a song he had been listening to today, one that he was trying to mimic. A love song. Content to lay on top and looking down at Kevin, his hair fell just past his eyes, confidence building up with the moments that passed. He could honestly say he didn't see himself falling this hard. He didn't care how open he seemed to his boyfriend, wearing all his feelings on his sleeves; it was the only way Jay knew how to function. "How do Ah know Ah ain't dreamin'? No one's pinched me yet, an' Ah'm starin' ta think Ah made ya up."

Kevin gave Jay a rather sarcastic expression. "Ain't the only thing Ah do when Ah want your attention." He didn't exactly have to go out of his way to get the attention though, did he? Jay always showed up first, crossed the line, pushed the door open, and trampled all over the boundaries. Kevin didn't really have to do anything to get the attention; he just had to keep it. And not be a head case and drive it off as well. Easier said than done some days.

Looking up at Jay made it hard to keep a straight face. He was just pleased as hell lying where he was, chin in his hands, wasn't he? It was kind of cute. Alright, more than just kind of, but Kevin would refrain stating as much aloud. "Nah, you wouldn't make me up. You'd make up someone way better." With a snicker he added, "Someone croissan' hat worthy." One handle idly roamed, fingertips drawing pictures over Jay's back. The nonsense patterns gave way quickly to actual pictures. Replacing them all, Kevin started to draw his boyfriend's face with fingertips on his back. "Y'know, Ah'd offer ta pinch ya so that dreamin' thing's not an issue, but Ah don't know pinchin' yer scrawny ass actually do any good even if ya were dreaming." Kevin grinned, trying not to laugh, fingers still etched over Jay's back.

"An' wha' else do ya do when ya want ma attention?" he asked despite knowing the answer. His feet bounced as though to a silent tune, or perhaps he was carrying on the one he had been humming. He loved to push the lines between them, and a good feeling always spread over him whenever he was around Kevin. It was just a matter of feeling it before a fight or after one.

"Pfft," he scoffed, letting his hands fall and crossed them over each other, looking appalled. "Ah reckon there ain't no one better than wha's beneath me right 'ere, right now." He squirmed a little at the touch on his back, suddenly becoming slightly ticklish. He was trying not to show it though. "Oh now there's a thought. Someone who would wear a hat like tha' an' not cry 'bout it. Didn' know such a man existed," he kissed Kevin on the lips lightly. "But wha' Ah do know," he started to giggle at the one finger on his back and reached behind to still Kevin's finger. "Is that if yer gonna pinch ma butt, then ya better mean it. An' ma ass ain't scrawny," he added. Jay was arching to hold Kevin's hand, or rather, trying to catch it and his wings haphazardly flared out, to still him from wobbling on top of his boyfriend's groin. "Ya ain't being very fair," he scolded, his position not really being the ideal one for someone who was at the mercy of his boyfriend's fingers.

"Not bein' fair?" The words were parroted back to Jay in the same tone he'd used save for the intonation change making it into a question. "Wha's fair got to do wi' it? All's fair in love an' war, ain't it?" When Jay's back had become ticklish Kevin was unsure. The fact this needed to be exploited, on the other hand, he was very sure of. While Jay tried to keep his balance Kevin's hand escaped the searching one of his boyfriend and deftly slipped under his shirt. The cloth of his gloves was soft and sleek, Kevin was all too aware of the fact that it would tickle greatly when directly on skin.

While two fingertips danced back and forth up Jay's spine, Kevin continued on conversationally. "Yer ass is scrawny, but then it's just keepin' wi' the trend tha' is Jay, scrawny bastard." He laughed, the sound resonating from his chest and shaking his body gently. "Bu', ya know, ain't no way ta touch you an' not mean it." The arm that had thus far stayed contentedly around his boyfriend's waist abandoned its position so Kevin could reach up and pull Jay into a kiss, his other hand going flat on the back he'd been tormenting. Hopefully it would distract Jay from having at that hand, and stop him from wobbling before Kevin forgot which brain he was supposed to be thinking with.

"All's ain't fair in love an' war." The twinkle in Kevin's eye betrayed him and the plans he had. Jay's hand searched, or rather, fought off the other hand with the desperation that of someone who were about to be tortured. The anticipation and threat of the moving hand brought on a fit of giggles. He twisted and turned, wings in disarray. "Oh yer not -- Ah!" his body jerked left and he tried to move Kevin's hand off with his wings. Quiet the fight was put up but not enough to stop those clever fingers which managed to dodge his efforts.

"Hey now--" he started again, cut off by another kiss that drew him down. Jay stilled his body and smiled into it, wings lowering down to the floor. He sunk into Kevin, melting on the spot and surrendering to his will before he could put up a decent fight. It was broken only long enough to make a small request, through a small whisper. "O, speak again bright Angel." His hands came down, trailing over fabric, searching for flesh he knew he couldn't' touch but wanted to. Like he was carefully sculpting, his fingers dug into the fabric, sliding it up, threatening to pull it off as he was caught up in the kiss. But as though he could read his boyfriend's mind, he let go and trailed down, slender hands pulling up on Kevin's thighs and grinding against him, deepening the kiss.

All that fighting and flailing only to be quieted so easily. Jay was so predictable, though Kevin wouldn't complain about the predictability of this particular reaction. There was something about having such a simple power over him, something so easily enforced and utterly pleasant to inflict that was a little intoxicating, addicting. But then who wouldn't fall in love with the lips of his boyfriend? Who could possibly resist such a thing?

Jay's hands wandered and Kevin kept close thought as to where they were, how much danger he was flirting with, and whether or not Kevin would have to still those hands himself. The good thing about wearing so many layers was that even when Jay gave in, buckled to what he wanted before he could remember that he couldn't, no harm ever came. There were another two shirts under the one that moved with those searching hands.

That moment came, it always did, when Jay remembered who he was with and his hands gave up. Kevin always had to bite back the sound of disappointment when it came because he wanted it, more than he ever let on. He craved that touch more than he should, the forbidden always tasted sweeter, glistened brighter. Kevin's mind searched, trying to distract himself from what he wanted to do by placing the source of the words his boyfriend had whispered.
His feet slid up until they were flat on the mat below him, knees bent and legs parting so Jay laid between them. It was the reaction of his tugging on thighs. If Jay was going to tempt him Kevin was going to ensure he could do it right. Kevin rocked his hips upward, smiling a little at the increased friction the shift brought. "As glorious ta this nigh', being o'er mah head as is a winged messenger o' heaven." The words were whispered, nearly lost in the kiss Kevin wouldn't fully break to respond. It was the only scene in the entire play he could even remember.

He was a sorry excuse for a boyfriend but he was proud of where he stood with Kevin. Jay liked to think that he was the only person Kevin confessed to, the only person he felt comfortable enough around to be himself. And he amused himself with those thoughts. It was better then having to remind himself of all the things he couldn't touch with his boyfriend, and instead, Jay found his mind wandering as to how Kevin could turn off his mutation. Could he really not control it? They had never spoke about his mutation, just treaded the fine lines of one major detail - he couldn't touch organic or they would be ashes in mere seconds. He reasoned that Kevin must be some pro creation malfunction. Some one was out for cruelty.

He grinned between those strong legs, and hungry hands searched for Kevin's, lacing them through each other and drawing them up over Kevin’s head. "Yer singin' ma song," he breathed. Jay responded like he was starved, eager to cut off anymore words. His fingers tightened, his upper body lifting while he brought down rough and unrelenting kiss after kiss. His persistence in keeping Kevin where he was, perversely pushing groin against groin for more contact. The familiar musky scent was intoxicating and his chest ached with the impulse to satisfy the carnal nature between them.
