Wanda and Kurt
Mar. 8th, 2008 11:52 amWith her birthday hitting during a certain hectic situation, Kurt decides that now is a good time to celebrate with Wanda.
It had taken some preparation - not to mention bribery and plotting -but all was finally in place. Thus, Kurt strolled down the hall to Wanda's apartment and actually knocked for once, rather than teleporting straight in.
The suitcase in his hand would have been too much of a giveaway, done that way.
Wanda looked up from her reports, blinking as the knock jarred her out of her thoughts. She hadn't been expecting anyone to stop by -- not that it really meant anything. The one thing with the living situation was that a host of people could stop by at any given time. "Coming," she called, knowing she'd left the door locked for once. Marking her place in case she was away for long, she got up and headed towards the door.
Opening it, she blinked. "Kurt?"
"Hello, Wanda", he said with a smile. "Happy birthday, late though it may be."
"Happy..." Wanda laughed, shaking her head. "It has been roughly a month!" Not that she was mad. It had occurred right in the middle of an emergency and the only reason she had remembered herself was because Amanda had left her a cupcake on her desk. If not for that, she'd have surely overlooked it entirely. But she'd given Pietro a call and called it a day once she could see straight. And other people had remembered after the fact, after all.
"Then I think now would be the perfect time to mark it", Kurt said innocently. "And Amanda agrees with me."
Crossing her arms over her chest, Wanda gave him a look. "Agrees with you how, exactly?" she asked.
"In that she was willing to help arrange Monday off for you. We are taking a long weekend away."
"Really?" Now she was looking amused, leaning against the door frame. "And where, pray tell, are you whisking me away to?" This was clearly 'revenge' on Amanda's part for the monkeys from ages back. Wanda gave a thought to her work and then mentally shrugged. Work could come later, after all.
"A hotel", he said with a grin. "Not too far from here, but further than a single jump for me."
At that, Wanda faked a sigh and then winked. "Far be it from me to ruin all the work you've put into this," she teased, letting him into the apartment. Ignoring the suitcase, she stepped in, winding her arms around his neck. "Are you giving me enough time to pack or should I go...without?"
The grin turned wicked and the case dropped from his hand to leave them both free... though not for long. "There is time enough to pack if you wish. On the other hand, if you should decide not to..."
Smirking, Wanda played with Kurt's hair. "I suppose I should at least bring toiletries. Everything else might end up being not quite mandatory." She winked and then leaned in to kiss him for a moment before breaking away. "Five minutes and I should be ready to go."
"Five minutes", he agreed, watching her move away quite unashamedly.

The hotel was, as might be expected, somewhere beyond nice and verging on incredibly swanky. It was a good thing Kurt's lifestyle was usually so spartan, or he'd never have afforded it. He had a hand over Wanda's eyes as they walked into the lobby. "No trying to look, now", he said teasingly.
She had one hand wrapped around one of his wrists and she refrained from doing anything to him to distract him so she could see. Kurt had teleported them a few blocks away and Wanda hadn't been allowed to see since then. "You realize I will have to get my revenge on you for this later, yes?" she asked.
"Oh, I am rather counting on that", was the cheerful response. "Looking forward to it, even."
Wanda smirked and then tapped on his hands. "Are you quite done yet?"
"I thiiink", he said, drawing it out deliberately, "that yes." And he removed his hand, dropping it to curl around hers.
The hotel was impressive in the comfortable sense, all wood fittings and towering ceilings and warm light. Kurt was looking at Wanda, half expectantly, half nervously.
A pleased smile crossed her face as she took everything in -- it was obviously not a cheap hotel but at the same time, it was not flashy. Kurt had picked well, knowing she would have enjoyed some place wealthy but more at home in someplace like this. "Well, Mr. Sefton," she purred, turning around in his arms, locking her arms over his shoulders. "Do you have anything specific lined up for how we shall celebrate my birthday?"
"It was your birthday", he pointed out with a growing smile as his arms went more securely around her. "Other than the venue, all the details are up to you."
If the room looked as nice as the lobby, then the bed would certainly look as nice. On the other hand, perhaps the couch and the armchair. And Kurt was very flexible. Oooh, the were so many choices. "It is a good thing I have an active imagination," she sighed playfully, "or else we would be staring at each other the entire weekend."
"Again", he said, laughing, "I had rather counted on you being able to come up with things to do."
She tugged on his jacket and smirked. "You have two minutes to get us checked in and get the key," she told him.
It was amazing how fast he could move with the proper incentive.
