On Tuesday, Kurt gets a call from Father Michael with slightly disconcerting news and a request for help.

It was a distinctly relaxed Kurt who arrived back at his suite on Tuesday - not having any classes, he hadn't been in any hurry to get back - just in time to hear the phone ringing inside. Luckily, it seemed to have only just begun, and hadn't stopped by the time he reached it.

"Hello?"

There was a crackle of international static, and then a familiar voice came down the line. "Kurt, son. I'm glad I reached you."

"Father Michael?" He snapped to attention at the voice. "Is something wrong?"

"Not wrong. Just... there's a situation in one of the villages, up in the mountains I think I could use your advice on." The old priest sounded a but sheepish. "Would it be possible for you to come for a short visit?"

"I think it can be arranged", Kurt told him. "The children are on holiday for a week. And you know you always have only to ask."

"Thank you, Kurt. I do not like to impose, when it is such a long way, but I have to admit to being somewhat out of my depth," Father Michael replied. "There is... well, I feel rather foolish, saying this, but in this village, they believe they have found an angel."

There was a long silence. "...an angel. A real angel?"

"I have seen her. This girl is no more an angel than you yourself are a demon, Kurt. She is a mutant, I believe. However, she was injured in her fall, and the villagers are rather... sheltered. They believe her to be an angel, and are reluctant to she her taken by any human agency. I had hoped that you might be able to convince them otherwise?"

"I can certainly try", Kurt said a little doubtfully. "Though if they are convinced she is an angel, Father... why should they not think me a demon?"

"They will listen to you, if you arrive with me. And you can be very persuasive, Kurt." There was a low chuckle down the phone. "If they speak with you, as I spoke with you, all those years ago, they will see you are not anything but a good and Godly man."

"Then I will do my best for her", Kurt promised. "Has she told you her name?"

"No, she has not spoken yet. She was hurt, when she fell, and has not been able to speak, at least not to me." Father Michael paused. "Kurt, can you come as soon as possible? This girl will have a home somewhere, and family who might be worried for her. I'd like to see her safe."

"I will be on the next possible flight", he assured the old man. "She will be safe with the villagers until I can come, yes?"

"Perfectly. Thank you, Kurt. It will be good to see you again. Circumstances notwithstanding."

"And you, Father. Perhaps I will stay a little longer, when this is done."
