Sarah comes back inside, rubbing her hands together in an attempt to get some feeling back into them. She's been outside for a while, and her sweatshirt is torn in about twenty different places. Her dark hair is mixed with white specks of snow and a little blood left over from already healed wounds. Kicking her shoes off by the door, she wonders if Paige had given up on finding her yet.

Paige matches Sarah fairly well. She has herself dressed in an old pair of jeans and a t-shirt - sunny yellow in colour - and both are speckled with plaster. Her hair also manages to find a few streaks of white, by streaks we occasionally mean chunks. Really, she doesn't look too much worse for wear, although it is accenting how pale she is, and her freckles stand out quite a bit. She's walking down the hall at the moment, coming back up from a visit down to the medlab. She knows she shouldn't be going down there so often but wow she really doesn't seem to care.

And there she is. Sarah's timing seems to be perfect like that. "Hey," she says sort of off-handedly, "I waited for you, but you didn't come visit."

"Yana decided that throwing paper towels was fun again," Paige replies as an excuse. And it's a damn fine excuse. "That girl is going to start World War III I swear."

Sarah shrugs. It wasn't a big deal anyway. "How're you holding up?"

"Eh," Paige replies with a shrug of her own. "Been better. Self?"

"I'm out of the medlab. I'm fucking thrilled," she says, and the truth of the statement is evident in her voice. "Though I still have no idea _why_ I was there."

"I'd offer to go brain digging but look! Not a TP. Sorry." Paige resists leaning on a wall and crossing her arms. Perhaps there was some brain switching going on when she wasn't looking. "I'm sure you'll figure it out, though." There, that's better.

"Ha. Funny." She picks at the bone on her hands a little, and looks back up. "I hope so. Not knowing is driving me crazy. I want to know what I did... what they did." She runs her hands through her hair, now damp from melted snow. It snags a little, and she winces.

"Nothing probably as bad as you're thinking," Paige says calmly. "We were lucky. But, either way, you'll figure it out soon enough. The mind is good like that."

Sarah shrugs again, rubbing her arms through her sweatshirt. She starting to feel them again. "Yeah. Probably."

Paige pauses for a long moment, thinking hard about something. "I know you're going to hate me for asking this but... what the heck. Jono's okay, isn't he?"

"Okay since the attack? Or okay in general?" She thinks for a minute, and shakes her head. "To tell you the truth, I haven't seen him since we heard the guns and ran upstairs."

"Either would have been fine, but... thanks anyway." Paige tries to smile, pushing back the hair that fallen into her eyes behind her ear. "Bastard's probably used up all his good will and gone back to skulking for the rest of the month."

Sarah rolls her eyes, and gives Paige a look that makes it perfectly clear she's not in the mood to argue about Jono's character. "Apparently he scared the hell out of Clarice earlier. She was hiding in our room, and he came in."

Paige gives Sarah an even stare that says a little more than she would have liked about how damn straight Sarah isn't arguing over Jono and oh no she didn't just roll her eyes. But it's gone quickly and she's back to trying to look amused. "So I heard. I'm sure he said boo as well."

"Probably didn't need to. She was terrified anyway." She doesn't say it like a bad thing, just a _fact_.

Paige crosses her arms but it's more out of lack of things to do with her hands. "Mm... I suppose so. Clearly I'm an abnormality with my lack of mutation fear. Like I need any more."

"Any more fear?" Sarah raises an eyebrow, looking directly at Paige.

"Abnormalities," Paige says, a little sharper than she meant to.

"You and me both, Paige." She rubs again at the bone on her hands. It breaks the skin, but she doesn't seem to notice.

Paige gives her a look; she obviously notices the bones of fun sprouting up all over the place. "Go get some rest, roomie. Or some tea. Or something. Before we have dogs following you around or something."

"It'll take a day or two. Still thinks I've got to be on my ready for another fight." That, and stress, and damned if she doesn't just want to curl up on somebody's lap and sleep for a very long time.

"Mhm..." Paige hums, knowingly. "Well, Shinobi's all over the place but last I saw him he was doing the wandering around aimlessly thing around... here actually. You might want to stay put. I'm going to go somewhere that is not here." Paige is the psychic one tonight and she's taking advantage of it. "If he doesn't show up I'm planning on watching a movie tonight and you're welcome to join."

Sarah shakes her head. "I'm sure he'll come down eventually. I owe him a game of darts." She turns and heads in the same direction Paige had just come from. "See you later Paige."
