Jubilee comes by Amanda's apartment bearing food.

Jubilee knocked on the door to Amanda's apartment, juggling the cartons of takeout she'd brought with her. From what she remembered, Amanda was usually fairly wiped after large magical workings, and had a tendency to consume her own weight in foodage. Thus, she brought curry and rice from the local Indian takeaway joint down the street. She hadn't tried anything from there yet herself but she figured the other girl wouldn't really care if it tasted like crap, just that it was protein and carbs.

There was a significant wait, and then eventually the door creaked open, to reveal a heavy-eyed Amanda, still in her pyjamas, her hair tousled and sticking up in places. "Hey, Lee," she mumbled, then her eyes fell on the containers of food. "Is that for me?" she asked, life entering her voice somewhat.

"Yup, that new Indian place. I reject any responsibility should you come down with food poisoning however." she replied, holding out the containers. "Figured you might not be up ta braving outside right now."

"More like I wouldn't have the energy to get my arse down the hall, let alone the stairs." Amanda gave her a small, wan, grateful smile and opened the door more fully. "You wanna come in?"

"Sure, though I can't stay long, kinda holdin' down the fort back at the offices while Mark's go...um, yeah." Jubilee replied, moving past Amanda and into her apartment. She'd not been inside before, having always met up with the group either outside the pub, or gone from the offices. It suited the witch, although the shrine was somewhat creepifying. She wasn't sure who the guy in the picture was, but she vaguely remembered that Amanda had lost a friend, it was possible that this had been him. "Sort of what I came around for, actually. Well, other then the food an to check on how you were copin'. Is there anythin' you need me to take care of for you?"

When Jubilee said Mark's name, Amanda seemed to sag, but by the time the other girl had turned back around, the witch was pulling herself up as straight as she could whilst exhausted. "I just need food and sleep right now and you've taken care of one of those for me. Once I've had a chance to recharge a bit, I'll try the location spell."

"Mandy, you heard what Emma said, she's no Charles Xavier but she's no slouch either. You really want to do this to yourself?" Jubilee began, looking distinctly uncomfortable now.

"I've gotta know, one way or the other." Amanda leaned back against the wall - more of a slump, really. "There's a hundred reasons why she can't read him, and not all of them mean he's dead. I have to try. I'll have that at least." Her glance flickered up to the sketch. "This time, any way."

Jubilee's gaze followed hers and she saw the sketch again, taking it in for a moment before looking back at her friend. "You want some help with it then?"

Relief crossed Amanda's tired face. "I need something of his, something he wa... is connected to. There should be something on his desk, like his favourite coffee mug or something. If you can get that, and come back here 'round..." She glanced at the clock on her DVD player. "Eight, tonight? That should give me enough time to get back up to speed. New York's got plenty of juice, at least."

"I'll be there." Jubilee said, pulling out a little pad and writing something down quickly before slipping it back into her back pocket. "So, anyway, I better get back. Lunch break is almost over, an I don't want to be late. You want me to bring you dinner as well tonight?"

"Please. I'm gunna need to do this on a full stomach. Spell's low impact, but yeah, pushing the limits a bit here." Amanda gave Jubilee a wry smile. "Then again, when don't we?"

"It's what we do." Jubilee's reply was accompanied by a rather non-committal shrug. "But food shall be brought, Italian, I think. Pasta is always good for building energy."

"You're a lifesaver. Twice." With effort, Amanda pushed herself up from the wall and towards the coffee table, where the food had wound up. "I'll see you later then."

"Not if I see you first." Jubilee replied, this time with more of a grin as she made her way toward the door, and then out of it with the quick stride of someone in a hurry.
