Who: Bishop and Kurt
What: Running across each other at the Brownstone
When: Sunday afternoon

Wanda had said she wanted to sleep and Kurt did, after all, have responsibilities away from the brownstone. So, reluctantly, he'd left her to it and made his way down towards the exit.

Bishop was just stepping back in to the building, catching sight of Kurt headed toward him he nodded. The man was easily recognizable just from stories and he didn't look to be in an amazing mood, probably due to Wanda's condition. "That was a quick visit." Bishop stopped just inside the door for a moment, expecting to talk for at least a moment. He knew what to say to bring a conversation on.

It was a good choice, as Kurt stopped and nodded to him. "She is sleeping. I hope - the bruises do not make it easy."

"Don't you have more people around here to visit, too? Maybe they need some support too." He meant more with Wanda being hurt then the journal madness that was going on over someone's return. He didn't want to get involved in that in the least. Whatever was happening seemed to bring out the worst in people.

"...perhaps I should check on Amanda, at that", he acknowledged. "It cannot have been easy for her, with all that has happened in the last week."

"I'm headed up that way, if you want." Bishop motioned with an open hand so that he'd know Bishop would follow. "I know Amanda a little but not really well enough to ask, so it's good you're here."

"In that case, yes. We shall see if she wants to talk about it." He turned back towards the stairs. "It is good to meet you in person, by the way."

"It's good to meet you too Kurt. I hear you're a good guy and I was wanting to take you up on the offer of embarrassing Amanda stories." Bishop actually laughed, just a little, and smiled. He liked to hear stories.

"I like to think so. And those I will be happy to share, as I said. Starting, perhaps, with the one she mentioned herself involving my tail becoming a teething ring."

"I have a younger sister myself, actually." Something he had yet to share with anyone. "Though she never used me for teething." He smiled at the thought, it was just pleasantly odd.

"I have two", Kurt said with a smile. "...although technically four, if you count the recent adoptee and the one I did not know about until last year, and one older brother. My family history is a little complex." He paused, then added, "And in my experience from Amanda and Jimaine, they will use anything within reach for teething."

Bishop nodded as he listened "Sounds like you have quite the family life, then. I know one younger sister was a handful for me."

"I was raised in a gypsy clan", Kurt told him. "Family life was foremost, and Stefan - my brother - and I were often given babysitting duty, especially when the girls reached walking age. We were very well-exercised."

"I'd imagine you were. I don't think I'd have liked that job very much, myself." Bishop shrugged as they walked. "It seems you did well with it, though. Amanda speaks to you."

"She does", he said with a crooked grin, choosing not to explain that he'd had nothing to do with a good fifteen years of Amanda's life. "And so, most of the time, does Jimi. The rest of the time... well, she is eighteen. Her big brother is not always right any more."

"My sister hated me once she started dating. I have a odd family though, so I was surprised it took so long." Bishop could relate to Kurt, he tried to do it out loud, build some sort of bond. Other then Emma he didn't actually have any friends in his new circle of associates.

Kurt was more than happy to form new bonds, and he liked what he'd seen of Bishop so far. Odds were good. "Ah, intimidating boyfriends is an older brother's duty. Sadly, it is one I must leave to Stefan for the most part, as they are in Germany and I am here."

"You're missing out on the best part then, I think. It's where all the pay back is. At least you can do it for Amanda, though." He smiled to Kurt and got the door for them both as they made it back into the offices.

"That is true." He grinned, stepping through the door with a nod of thanks. "And her boyfriend lives in the mansion and uses the same training facilities I do."

"Sounds like the perfect time to get him, I think." Bishop nodded back and followed him in. "If Amanda complains you just get to tell her it's pay back... I went to the mansion just recently, by the way. It's a nice place."

"It is indeed", Kurt agreed. "Just for a visit, or to take advantage of those facilities?"

"To train with Scott Summers. He offered to work with me on energy projection a bit. I figured it couldn't hurt, I haven't been trained by any professional mutants before." He nodded at his own thought.

He nodded in turn, understanding. "You certainly will not find many more experienced with their powers than Scott."

"That works out for me, then." He appreciated the reference. It was good to know that Scott was thought well of, at least in the powers department.

"As for me", Kurt volunteered, suddenly realizing the other man might not know, "apart from the obvious, I am a short-range teleporter."

"I imagine that would be quite a cool ability at times." Bishop nodded, being one (oddly enough) to focus on positives most of the time.

"It has certainly proved useful, especially in team situations. Not so much for avoiding commercial flights, as I cannot cross the ocean."

"I don't think there's too much reason to overseas that often, regardless. Unless you are from another country, then I could see why you would want to."

"My family does keep insisting I do not come home often enough", he said with a rueful smile. "But as I understand it, that is just something families do."

"It is if my family's any indicator." Once they eventually made their way to Bishop's desk he pulled up a chair for Kurt before sitting himself. "Want a drink?"

"I very rarely turn down coffee", was the cheerful response. "If you were intending to make it, of course. Do not turn on the machine only on my account."

Bishop laughed a bit, opening his desk drawer and pulling out two tumblers along with his bottle of Makers. "Not exactly what I meant." Bishop poured about two fingers into each glass, not too much. He slid one across the desk to Kurt. "Stories over coffee just doesn't sound right."

"Ah, well, in that case, I do not turn down good alcohol either." He accepted the glass with a smile, raising it. "Your health."

Bishop raised his as well before taking a drink from it.
