The girls don't get off to a terribly good start.

Jubilee adjusted the bag on her shoulder as she walked down the front porch steps, her eyes drifting over the grounds of the mansion. She was on her way back to her car after visiting for the afternoon and her mind was on the traffic she was going to encounter on the way back into New York proper.

Morgan had been out playing target practice with her bow. She'd managed to not accidentally nearly shoot anyone strolling through the woods today, which was probably a good thing. It wasn't so great for the bird that just didn't quite take off into flight quickly enough, though. Some cat was likely going to sniff it out, dig it up and have a feast on that, but at least Morgan had buried the thing.

As she headed back toward the mansion she spotted someone she recognized. Someone who didn't really belong there. Jubilee. The kidlet from India. Well, she never actually saw Morgan in her own body, just known she was Morgan so maybe she could escape without having to talk to her.

Unluckily for her, Jubilee was in a somewhat chatty mood, what with the sunshine and the being in a place where you weren't being shot at. She smiled as Morgan approached. "You must be pretty new 'round here, haven't seen you before."

"Or you could have just been looking in the wrong direction." Morgan wiped the sweat off her forehead with her forearm. It was hot out, she didn't like Jubilee overmuch already, and she just wanted something really cold to drink. The fact that she'd kept her tone light and steered away from cold and antagonistic was a small miracle.

"Hmm, possibly." Jubilee noted, tapping her sunglasses down over her eyes. "Have fun then."

Morgan raised a hand, not having realized she was holding an arrow in it. Shrugging to herself, she saluted Jubilee with it. "Will do, captain."

"I get the distinct impression you don't like me very much." Jubilee noted, an amused glint in her eyes.

Great, she was still talking. A bored expression came onto Morgan's face. "I get the distinct impression it's hot as fuck out and not in a happy, at the beach kind of way."

Jubilee shrugged, pulling her bag up higher on her shoulder as she turned to resume her walk toward the front entrance of Xavier's. She called over her shoulder as she left. "Dude, I suggest you go inside then. Wouldn't want you to die of exposure or somethin', delicate little flower such as yourself."

"Piss off," the Irish in her Boston accent was immediately heavier and thicker than it normally was. Morgan was starting to think she really wasn't half as friendly as she thought she was when she wasn't on the job. "I'm in no danger of wilting, kidlet. Just of being annoyed."

"Am I annoying you?" Jubilee asked, tone dripping with sincerity. "Well then, can't have that, can we? Dude, cut out the tough chick act, seriously. There's no one around here that cares."

"And when I'm out to impress anyone around here I'll be sure to have you about so you can tell me just that." Why did people always assume you even cared what they thought? Or that their opinions mattered to you?

Jubilee closed her eyes for a moment, pushed the fingers of one hand through her hair, and then simply walking away.

Great, small and annoying was giving up. Morgan really had to consider the merits of possibly just ignoring people outright. Maybe it'd take them longer to leave her alone in that case. Without giving another thought to Jubilee, Morgan continued on her path which would end in the kitchen. And possibly with ice cream.
