After such a crummy weekend, Jay decides to go to the clinic that Mark and he talked about to offer up himself as a test subject for new drugs. He gets the drugs but not without passing out first.
A nurse helped Jay up into a sitting position and he ran a hand through his hair, rolling his neck. "Ugh, that felt weird. Sorry, Ah must have passed out or something. Don't normally do that," Jay confessed. The room stank of antiseptic and he swallowed, finding his mouth bone dry. "How long was Ah out for?" he asked just as the nurse handed him a glass of water.
The tall doctor smiled down at him, winking understandingly. "Not too long. In fact you have been a model patient all around, Mr. Guthrie. There might be some light-headedness - we'll set you up with something for that on your way out. The loss of consciousness is not uncommon as an organism adjusts to the retroviral cocktail. Especially for someone with a heightened metabolism. How are you feeling otherwise? Vision all right?"
Skrul raised his hand, "How many fingers?"
Jay blinked. "Uhm, y'all's fist is closed..."
The doctor laughed and patted Jay on the shoulder. "Excellent. See, nurse Jones? The young man is perfectly fine."
