Jay is questioned about the pills Amelia finds in his pocket. Sam is less than pleased and Amelia is shocked to know the truth.

Something was shaking him, moving him by the shoulder with a grip over his frail skin. He didn't want to move, didn't want to walk up and opened his mouth to protest. Nothing came out and he coughed. It hurt to cough, felt it right down his throat into his lungs and they burned. Oh my god, he agonized, clutching at his stomach and trying to turn over. The hand that was holding his shoulder had stopped shaking him and held him down where he was. He could barely fight it, could barely move. He raised his arm to push the hand out of the way, only a warmer hand took his and he opened his eyes, only to close them again because of the light.

Sam gone directly to sickbay once he had heard about Jay's arrival. He had also heard about the pills that caused the visit. Once Jay pushed Sam's hand away he knew his brother was awake and he shook the bottle of pills "Anything you want to talk about little brother?" He really wanted to be patient here. Jay had tried to kill himself before and if that was happening again then the reason this time was much less apparent, at least to Sam. He wanted to at least get the story before he got angry. Preferably he wouldn't get angry at all.

The shake of the pills rattled the faint memory that he was suppose to be taking them and his hand reached out, grabbing blindly. Jay even went so far as to sit up before he was forced back down, clutching at his chest. "Ugh...agh, Amelia?" Jay cried, unable to answer Sam right away because of his chestpains. It hurt. It hurt so bad it nearly brought tears to his eyes everytime he tried to move.

"What are the pills for? These are things family should know. I mean, I know I just got back, but come on. This isn't even big brother material... just general family stuff." Sam was trying not to sound too upset. He didn't want to yell at Jay but this was pretty important from the looks of things and he didn't know anything about it. With his brother's healing abilities he couldn't imagine why he would have pills.

The rise in Sam's voice turned his attention from the pains in his chest and he rolled his eyes up at the blurr of his brother. The lights were too bright in here, just too bright and he closed his eyes, pressing his palms to them. Everything hurt, all his muscles ached and felt restless. He wanted to move but wanted to stay still and it was hard to focus on the question, let alone answer it. "Ah.." What were they for again? Research. "They're for some research facility," he croaked. "Ah was ...testin' out the drug for 'em." His confession was faint and he made a grab for the water nearby, but the pains in his chest started again.

There was something that sounded like a gasp from Amelia's direction. "You're what? We've been running test after test on you, hitting nothing but dead ends, and you didn't think to tell us that you were taking part in a drug trial?" She sounded utterly stunned, rather than angry.

Gritting his teeth together, he couldn't speak but only nod, opening and closing his hands, trying to focus on anything else. He struggled to listen to Amelia, but even as she spoke, her words seemed far away for the moment. He wanted to tell them that the drug was suppose to be harmless, that he was told it shouldn't interfear with anything in his lifestyle. And he believed it, believed them but still gripped onto false hope that it was something else and not his own stupidity.
