Jay returns from Muir and Sam fusses over him.

Even though he insisted on taking a cab, Sam wouldn't hear it. Instead, he came to pick Jay up. He even carried Jay's bag for him and put it in the car. When he took it out of the car, he even opened the door for Jay until Jay refused to go inside until he could have his bag back and actually walk in with some dignity still left on his shoulders. He wasn't entirely sure how much anyone knew and just wanted to more or less play the fool and pretend in his world that no one knew anything and that they would be too polite to ask. He wasn't fully healed. His body still protested if he got going too fast, however, he hadn't been allowed to leave until his healing factor kicked back in. Once it did, he was released, knowing that he would be fully recovered in a week or two. His wings weren't far from embarrassment and walking around like a plucked chicken didn't hold much appeal. They itched like hell too. He was thinking he could just hole himself up for those two weeks, but he'd already missed the beginning of school. Who knew how much it would take to catch up.

"Were yah able to get mah books?" he asked Sam, waiting for his overzealous, compensating brother to open the door. He needed to sit already.

"Of course. I have everything taken care of, you just have to worry about getting in, relaxing, and getting better." Sam continued to hold open all the doors between where they were and Jay's bed. He knew it was probably a little much but his brother had been badly hurt and this would be one of the few times he'd get to show how much he cared. "Your phone is already on your nightstand too so you can call Paige or I when you need anything and we'll get it done. It's important you just rest, you know."

"Ah am better," Jay said and dropped his bag to the floor for emphasis. While Sam fussed around the room, Jay stood there in the middle of the suite and observed how quiet it was. It was here that he felt Kevin's absence, the absence of his old roommates and company over all. He liked it, but he didn't and was trying to sort that out in his head when Sam's fussing filtered in a little. "Ah've been restin' forever, Ah don't want to sit down anymore." He left his bag by the couch and went to Kevin's room, or what had been Kevin's room and opened the door. It was empty, vacant of life and Jay leaned against the frame. He imagined it would have still smelled like Kevin if the sheets hadn't been cleaned or the floor vacuumed. Someone must have come around while he was gone. He suddenly noticed how clean it was smelling. "Was someone in mah room?" he asked over his shoulder.

"I didn't clean up but it sure looks like someone did. I know this isn't how you keep your room." Sam's response was half a joke, it was entirely true though. "I know you don't want to rest any more but that's what you have to do to get better. Otherwise you're just going to drag out your recovery and make it worse than it needs to be." He continued to fuss with things just a bit, getting everything right and ready so Jay could just relax with everything he'd need in reach.

He glanced over his shoulder to Sam in his clean clean room. Yeah, someone was in there, had been in there and he supposed that he had left enough things lying around that an odour might have crept out from under the door. Shoving his hands into the front of his hoodie, he just stood there. "Ah don't really like living here alone. You know? Kev moved out so it feels kinda lonely."

"If you want a roommate for a while I can drop in or check on changing around your room assignment." Sam paused for a moment and sighed. He tended to stay out of his sibling's personal lives after he got into his fight with Paige about it. "What I really mean to say is that I'm sorry about your relationship. Let me know what I can do to help; if I can."

He seemed to find this funny. "What are you gonna do? Ah'm not so sorry about it. We weren't really workin' out, but it's not like we're not talking." He wasn't really sure what else to say about it. Jay still wanted to be with Kevin but he had come to terms that he needed to be wanted back and loved the way he was determine to love.

"I don't know what I'd do but I'm still making the offer." Jay appeared to be settled in and it got uncomfortable enough Sam moved to stand by the open door, waiting for a moment in case his brother needed anything else.

Jay noticed his discomfort right away and went to sit down on the couch, but stood by it instead. "What? What's wrong?" he asked, running a hand through his red locks. They only fell back in place and he looked mildly annoyed by it.

Sam smiled and touched his brother's shoulder. "Just remembering I'm not great with relationship advice, so I don't really know what to say or do."

"Oh well, you're a lotta help, arn't you?" Jay replied. Scratching the inside of his elbow, he ducked down from Sam's hand by sitting down on the couch and shrugged. "Thanks, Ah'll call if Ah need." He probably wouldn't, not wanting Sam to fuss over him anymore than he had already.

"I'll be around if you call." Sam smiled and stepped out so Jay could have some time to adjust to coming back.
