Bishop and Lil
Dec. 13th, 2008 10:08 amBishop and Lil meet, then flirt heavily and talk serious occasionally.
Bishop was on his weekly Saturday visit to the mansion. He had taken up the habit of using the gym there after powers training because he had requests from a few residents to help them develop a regimen or do specific work-outs with them, like running. He bulked up naturally and expected that people knowing he did it without the aid of a mutation lended him credibility. He was happy to oblige and become a bit more of a presence.
After a full session of powers training, a full work-out, and a short meal, Bishop headed back through the lobby of the mansion in a tank top and some shorts. He was on a path for parking and then back to the Brownstone but he had his eyes open. There was someone one the journals he said he'd keep an eye out for and he liked to consider himself someone who kept their word. He was also curious, she considered herself a giant and he wondered how tall a woman would be before they viewed themselves like that. As far as he knew there were only a couple his size or bigger and he made quite the splash when he showed up because of it.
Lil was likewise keeping an eye out, though the same couldn't be said for her ears. Ear buds in place, the Valkyrie was currently rocking out to the King's rendition of 'Santa Bring My Baby Back To Me" as she wandered the halls, attempting to get a better feel of the mansion. Maybe after a few days more she'd hopefully cut down on the wrong turns and dead ends. A slight bounce in her step, her golden head bobbed in time with the music only come to a halt when she spied the man whose path she found herself quite literally crossing.
"Well, hello there tall, dark and handsome," she chuckled while pulling the ear buds out and powering down the ipod. Hazel eyes danced with mirth as she gave him the once over, admiring the view given by his workout clothes. Much better than she'd envisioned... especially the arms. Yum. "Your Excellency, I presume?" Lil flashed him a smirk and then even dropped a quick curtsy.
"And you must be Lil. You didn't say you're so tall because of those mile long legs." Bishop had no problem letting his eyes wonder over her right back. He laughed a bit at her curtsy, offering his arm to her in movie fashion, when the old days of Knights and Knaves were portrayed. "I just worked out and ate; I assume we're about to go get to know each other though, so we'll have to do something other than one of those two things." He clearly wasn't one to be shy, flirting was generally harmless.
"At your service and why say when I can show?" she answered, popping a hip to the side. Her own shorts were significantly shorter than his and made of tight fitting denim; being immune to the weather allowed for a variety of wardrobe choices even in the winter, even if those choices did include the occasional long sleeve tee for fashion's sake. Lil's smile spread when she wrapped her arm about his, returning a pleasant but truly amused laugh for his flirting. "I'm up for anything you are, Your Excellency; don't even need to get my coat. I'm all yours for the taking no matter where the taking may lead."
When she popped her hip to the side Bishop raised his hand a bit but thought better of it. Where he was from a slap would have been totally warranted, but probably not here. "All mine for the taking..." He said slowly, trailing off in thought. He continued on the way to his car, he knew she probably had no plans on it but he was going back to the city and she had just given him permission to do so. "You know, most women wait for proof before they admit to my excellence." He said teasingly, getting the passenger door for her.
Eyebrows lifting, the blonde woman's gaze shifted from him to the car before tossing caution to the wind. He was connected to the school, after all, so there couldn't be that much harm in a little ride. "I bet most women don't get into a strange man's vehicle this fast, either. Unless they're being paid of it, of course. Then, again, I'm not most women though I will say, this is the smoothest kidnapping I've ever been part of." Lil slid gracefully past the opened door and slipped her iPod into her pocket as she settled in. "Fair warning, I don't have any cash on me."
"If I were kidnapping you I wouldn't want cash." Bishop laughed a bit. He thought this might not be the best time to tell her how he was trained or that he had snatched people before. He looked over her with a grin. "And I don't invite most women into my car." Outside his car was extremely usual and nondescript, inside was nice however. The seats had soft, natural wool covers, the windows were tinted, and the sound system was exquisite. He spent a lot of time in his car and had spent a lot of attention on making it as comfortable as possible.
"Kidnapping for something other than cash? I am intrigued," Lil answered as she crossed her legs. The car was perhaps one of the nicest she'd been in in a long time. Especially the seats which, because of her depleted sense of touch, she knew to be incredibly soft as she could hardly feel them at all. "And flattered, seeing as you don't invite most women. I'll be hurt if it's just because of my height, though," she added with a little pout and slow blink of her eyes. It had been too long since she was able to flirt this open and freely with a handsome man. Most of her conversations with Maddy in the last six months had all ended in screaming fits and broken furniture.
"Why?" Bishop was curious now. They hadn't said much to each other so she couldn't honestly expect to be invited in because of personality and someone being attracted to height was no different then eyes or breasts. He preferred short women himself, but he find how a woman fit together in total to be more important than any one feature and she definitely fit together very well.
"What do you mean 'why?'" the blonde asked with a slightly confused look. "I was joking, Bishop," Lil clarified as her frown deepened and became more sincere. "I mean, all we have talked about was my height, your height. That's why we're here talking; something in common to work as a springboard for further conversation, yeah?" What had he thought she meant? Lil was all for a little fun but she'd honestly not been expecting anything more than some chatter peppered with a healthy dose of harmless flirting.
Bishop laughed a bit, "I thought maybe you didn't like how tall you are. Either that or thought it was your best feature, but I'm pulling for you butt on that one." He smirked and glanced over to her as he drove, pushing the topic back to lighthearted flirting. He pulled out off the mansion grounds, headed for the city. "Though legs is a close runner up. Or... well, they're all good." He said playfully.
"I didn't always, but I've gotten better about it," Lil admitted as the smile bloomed back to life, displacing the confusion entirely. It wasn't entirely true; she was still a little sensitive about the feature that had nothing to do with her mutation. Being tall as she was, though, did come in handy, she'd admit. Especially for intimidation tactics. But rather than wanting to dwell on that, the Canadian was pleased when conversation turned back to the lighter back and forth. "Really? I always assumed my tits," she said with a touch a mock disbelief and a glance down at her breasts for emphasis. "Damn. All these years and I've been playing off the wrong features. What a waste."
"Well, I say that a good building needs a firm foundation. But, if you want me to take a better look to make sure I didn't miss anything I'd be glad to." Bishop shot back playfully, smirking a bit as she looked down to her chest. He kept his eyes on the road more then probably necessary, however. He had seen more then enough traffic accidents and on the back roads like they were it was even more important to be careful
"Maybe when we get to wherever you're taking me I'll let you have a closer inspection. And if you don't mind me asking, where are we going?" Lil finally asked with a laugh of her own. Granted, she didn't mind if they were just driving around with no real destination in mind but if they were headed somewhere, she'd prefer to know it. "Unless of course, it's some glorious surprise that would be ruined by you telling me."
"Nothing quite that planned. I was heading back toward the city like I would have been originally but I thought you might not appreciate ending up at my place at random so when we hit the back roads and all the trees I just started driving around." Bishop laughed a bit and pulled into a little cove, the heat still on and the car still running, he shifted into neutral. "Now there's something better planned, however." He smirked, calling her possible bluff.
Lil's smirk could rival that of the Cheshire cat when he pulled off the road. A challenge, huh? Never one to back down, the Valkyrie-like woman tossed the long strands of gold over her shoulder then leaned a little closer to Bishop. The whole thing smacked of an escapade a couple of the high-schoolers would go in for, but hell, she was game for just about anything. All in good fun, after all. "Any specific areas of the foundation you'd like to start with, Your Excellency?"
Bishop laughed at her offer, grinning as widely as she did. "Well, if you want a fully informed decision I suppose I'd have to get a good look at the entire structure." He said teasingly, still running with the building metaphor. "And we'll need criteria. Am I judging on looks alone?" He upped the challenge. He didn't have anything to lose, she could either laugh at the joke or go through with the offer, either way was great in his mind.
"Seeing as I'm not an engineer and certainly haven't had any experience inspecting similar structures, I can hardly tell you what criteria to use," Lil pointed out with a chuckle of her own. Such delicious, juvenile flirting was good for the soul, she was convinced and infinitely better when it was reciprocated by an incredibly handsome and strong man. "I can tell you that it's quite solid but has give and sway where it should, if that helps any."
"Should I inspect myself or take your inexperienced word then?" Bishop laughed teasingly, looking into her hazel eyes and grinning deviously. "I can't say I'm an engineer but I do have some experience inspecting these structures and quite a bit of natural aptitude." He let his eyes wonder for a moment, shifting in his seat to face her more directly.
The blonde's nose wrinkled when her smirk grew and an almost impossibly dainty giggle sounded from her lips. "If you feel you must, I won't stand in your way. Someone with a natural aptitude would certain know better about these things than me." Lillian likewise turned and propping her head up with an elbow against the headrest, laid down her own challenge. It was dangerous, sure, playing games with a man she hardly knew but the danger only made it that much better. "Hands-on inspections are always the most reliable."
"Then how about you give me the tour?" Bishop leaned up in his chair, clearly not having any intent of backing down. He started at her legs, as low as he could reach, his strong hands slowly working up. He caressed and even softly squeezed. "Great look, good feel. Smooth and firm." He laughed a bit, winking to her playfully, letting her verbally guide him as if taking him on a tour.
The noise that sounded in the back of her throat was a soft mix of moan and purr. Whatever game they were playing, it had just reached a new level. "Gotta have a strong base to support the rest of it," Lil agreed as she pointed her foot to give her leg a little more definition. She'd been out of the gym for awhile playing housewife and needed some work to get back to the level she'd once been at but the Canadian hadn't let herself go completely. "Am I to be graded on each individual floor or just an overall one upon completion?"
"That's your preference." Another challenge returned to her. Bishop smiled to her, his hands just roaming her legs until he was invited to another floor. He wouldn't have expected so much from her but he got the impression her personality was like his own, proud and daring. Someone was probably going to have to stop this soon and he considered it. He likely shouldn't be even touching her legs to begin with, let alone more.
Having dated only one man since she was sixteen - and then marrying him - Lil had participated in quite a few rounds of banter with other men that lead nowhere when Maddy wasn't around, though the touching? That was new... and while she was enjoying the feel of his strong hands, even imagining them roaming her other floors, the blonde knew she needed to end the game. Soon. Just not yet. She was a flirt and a tease, and wasn't willing to let it go beyond that; however she also wasn't one who backed down when they thought they could win.
Shifting, extremely carefully so as not to cause any damage to his car's interior, Lil settled one leg in his lap with a haughty grin. "I think I'd like my grade now."
With a soft laugh Bishop replied, "For the legs, an A no doubt. But then again, I commented on those first." He left her leg in his lap, leaning back and patting her calf before keeping his hands to himself. It was time to drop the game, for his own sake. "It was your chest you were most proud of, anyway." He took a moment to look openly, then looking back up to her eyes he nodded. "They're definitely something to be proud of." He wasn't going to compare to other features again, that wouldn't end well or might get him back into trouble.
"Quite proud actually." With a victorious laugh, Lil finally let the game come to an end. Her leg was pulled back and crossed over her other casually as she smiled at him. "You're fun. I like you," the blonde said easily. There was no disappointment, no hard feelings. Just the satisfaction that she'd won. "Now that we have that outta the way though, how about a proper round of introductions and small talk?" She extended her hand for a shake. "Lillian Crawley-Jeffries. Always a pleasure to meet another giant."
With a smirk at the admittance she liked him, he didn't view this as a loss in the least. He took her hand in his, "I'm Bishop and it's my pleasure, no doubt." He was still smiling and playful; the flirting wasn't going to stop after just one round. "Since we're doing small talk I'm sure you'll want all the usual. I'm from the city and worked as a cop almost my entire life, until I was recruited by Snow Valley, anyway. I think you've heard a little about them."
"No doubt," the Canadian chuckled, giving his hand a friendly squeeze that hinted at the strength she could produce before dropping her own back into her lap. "Bishop your last name or first? I'm only asking 'cause you sure don't look or act like any priest I've ever met." Her nose wrinkled again in an almost adorable gesture before tossing out another question. "Snow Valley is the think tank everyone in the journals was talking about or the NGO run outta the boathouse? I don't think I ever got the name of either." The police background was an interesting tidbit, however, and it served to put any lingering doubts and concerns fluttering about her brain to rest.
"It's my last, also what everyone calls me; and Snow Valley is the think tank out of the city. I'm their mutant liaison to the local law enforcement." That was the line Bishop always gave and it was actually pretty accurate. He was under the impression 'super secret spy operative' was actually super secret. He felt she was strong when she squeezed but with his abilities his was still stronger and by nearly the appropriate proportionate amount. He found himself enjoying that one nose wrinkling, adorable gesture she had.
"Sounds like a pretty heavy title. Good thing you've got strong shoulders to carry it," Lil teased. Made sense though, with his background, that he'd be a go between for the two groups; probably why he was hired, now that she thought about it. "You guys handle mutant rights and stuff, yeah? Pretty interesting job; more interesting than busting up bar fights, at least."
"I'm not sure how you'd go about checking into it, I was recruited, but maybe you should. I'm not sure what you would do at that mansion if you're not interested in teaching." Bishop had heard that she was likely here temporarily but he didn't concern himself with her prior plans. She didn't seem to be too interested in rushing back to Canada and coming to Xavier's just for power training to go impress her husband didn't seem like a very solid long term plan.
"Check into it?" Lil repeated slowly. "As a job?" Well, that was certainly something that hadn't occurred to her before. Her extent of expertise lay in smashing things and making a killer drink; surely she wasn't suited to work in with a think tank. "That's... um... wow. I mean, I'm not really the most diplomatic type and while, yeah, I'm all for our rights I dunno about diving in head first. It's been awhile since I've done anything like that. Quit Beta after I got married and they won't take me into Alpha until I get some sense knocked into me because of some um... past difficulties with my teammates but... really?" Her brow drew in a serious manner and all traces of the lighthearted flirtatiousness disappeared when she pushed back the lock of hair that was forever falling in her face.
"I have no idea how they choose who they do, or why, but it couldn't hurt you; could it?" He was actually showing more concern for her than for himself. Bishop didn't do inter-office romance. At least, that had been a long standing rule so far. With how different an exclusively mutant job was and how long his dry spell had been that could change. "Are you sure Alpha flight is where you want to be?" He asked curiously, not as if he had any deeper meaning. He hadn't known her long but she didn't seem too enthused about it when she mentioned it.
"Certainly seems like it's worth looking into," she agreed, her head nodding once as the thoughts continued to spin around in it. She'd have to do a little more research about Snow Valley when she got back to the school. As he said, it couldn't hurt.
Bishop's question about Alpha Flight, however, caused everything to come to a screeching halt. "Of course, it is. If it wasn't do you think I woulda packed up my life, leaving behind my home and family and moved to a different country?" Alpha Flight was exactly what she wanted. And she would do whatever it took to make it. "Granted, it's gonna be awhile; they haven't hit full launch yet and I'm outta practice but yeah, Alpha is where I want to be." And, after all was said and done, if Maddy was there with her, well, it was a nice little picture of possibility her mind had painted. Whether or not it would translate into reality was still up in the air.
Her insistence just received a nod in response. Bishop didn't have any reason to debate it with her. "If you need any modern weapons training I'm not sure the mansion offers it. Just let me know and I can give you a run through of fire arms and the like if you want." He was well trained in that area. He knew there were residents that were too but the offer was as much an excuse to spend time with her as anything.
Lil's soft grin rose back into its place with his offer. "I'd like that. I'm not too good with guns as I much prefer to use my fists whenever possible but yeah, I'd like that," she said sincerely. "Thanks." The lightest hint of rose colored her cheeks as the giantess' smile spread. More time with Bishop was certainly something to look forward to. "You don't have to worry about me shooting myself on accident, either. Just for the record, I'm impenetrable - and yes, I have heard every joke and smart-ass remark about that from men with tongues far sharper than yours so don't even try it," Lil laughed, pointing a finger at him as a mock threat.
Bishop laughed and smiled widely as she cut off any remarks. "Maybe you should start phrasing it differently then." He tried to say helpfully, though he got the impression that she did that in order to receive the comments or to start the conversation they were about to have. "Unless you're trying to suggest unavailability or celibacy." The blush we well noted but he didn't comment on that yet. Maybe later he'd bring it up.
Poking him playfully in the chest, Lil crossed her arms over her own then turned the fake pout on him once more. "No way in hell am I trying to suggest either of those. As far as I'm concerned, my marriage is all but over with the only thing keeping it from being finalized is that both Maddy and I are extremely competitive and stubborn people. Neither of us wants to be the first to admit defeat. He gave up playing with my tits to handle his tinker toy so I'm as free to do what - or who - as he is." Though, should she meet anyone Maddy was bedding, she couldn't promise they'd depart with all their teeth in place.
"Choosing to play with anything over your tits would be a poor choice, I'm sure." Not that he had seen them himself, much less played with them, but from what he could tell he hadn't seen any machine that would be a better choice. Also, she was going through a break up and he felt that giving her a few more compliments then he'd normally throw out would be good for her. Despite being gruff almost always, Bishop really did orient his life around helping people.
"Thanks. He apparently wouldn't agree with that which would be why we're in separate countries." Their last fight had been near epic proportions and she still couldn't believe the police hadn't been called. "He deals with machines, robots mostly and because of his powers, he got tagged to work on a project that he pretty much became obsessed with. Which in turn meant he spent a lot of nights on the couch when he came home at all. I don't know if I should be insulted or relieved that he was stepping out with a machine and not another woman."
Lil's head shook back and forth slowly before she dropped her face into her hands with a groan then met his gaze once more. "Sorry. You don't wanna here about all that any more than I wanna talk about it. So, yeah, modern weapon training would be great!" She emphasized the last with with as much fake cheer as she could muster, though it was obvious the blonde was still kicking herself for going on about her husband.
Bishop laughed softly with how she went on then chastised herself for it. "While we're being serious, I do want to hear about that. You seem like the kind of woman I could spend a lot of time with and get to know. I figure that means as much listening to your past as playing with those long, gorgeous legs." He ended on a playful, flirty note to help pick the conversation back up; letting her decide how she'd want to take the conversation.
"I have the sneaky suspicion that discussing my estranged husband would negate any warm and fuzzy feelings you'd be trying to produce while playing with my legs," the Valkyrie answered, still smiling. One hand moved to lay gently on his arm and Lil couldn't help but bat her eyes once or twice in his direction. "My past is just that - my past - and I'd really not dwell on it 'cause I'm here for my future. And if that means suffering though more time with you, well, I'll just have to learn to bare it."
"I'll be around plenty for you to spend time with." Bishop looked back into her eyes and smiled, resting his hand on hers as she felt along his arm. He enjoyed when women did that to show sincerity because he knew they also did it to feel for definition and he had more muscle then he knew what to do with. He had always been active and that meant even without his mutation that his body was entirely adjusted to being firm and dense.
Sure enough, her fingers - slightly warmer than most's - danced over the length of his arm, following the cut of muscle with a mischievous smirk. "Maybe, if you have time, we can throw in a spar here or there or a couple of hand-to-hand refreshers," Lil suggested, giving his forearm a none-too-gentle squeeze. "Been awhile since I've had a good pounding," she added with another suggestive twinkle in her eye. There were few of her classmates back in the Flight Program who she could grapple with and not worry about injuring; with Bishop it didn't seem like there would be that problem.
"Usually I don't but you do seem like you could take it and it has been a while." He left the double meaning playing, smirking back to her playfully. With her light touch the muscles jumped a bit involuntarily, making him just laugh softly, he didn't interrupt her exploring. "Since you don't feel cold that much I assume that you don't feel pain so much either. I've never had a spar where I didn't have to hold back at least a little."
"Oh, no, I can feel pain," she laughed. "Just takes a lot. A bullet's gonna hurt a bit, for instance, but it's nothing I can't shrug off. Same with falling a couple stories off a building. My skins produces it's own little force field that keeps me quite safe and nothing causes me lasting, serious damage unless I inhale it, ingest it or comes in the form of a serious mindfuck." Lil's nose wrinkled again and after scratching her nails just enough to tease over the inside of his arm, down to his thick wrist, pulled away completely. "So, are you gonna drive me back or am I gonna have to get out and hitchhike my way to the mansion?"
Bishop laughed and nodded, shifting back into a driving position in his seat and putting the car into gear. "I'll leave you a contact number too, just don't go spreading it around. I don't need the kids calling me when they get pulled over drunk. Or are just drunk in general." He patted her thigh lightly before they were off back toward the mansion.
Pantomiming locking her lips with a key, the blonde woman then ran a finger over the left side of her chest in an exaggerated X. "Cross my heart. I'll keep it all to myself for flooding you with suggestive drunken text messages," Lil promised.
"You could but that might be dangerous. If you send me a message I might just come over to take you up on the offer." Bishop glanced to her and gave her a playful wink, watching sidelong as she made her gestures and crossed her heart.
"Anything I offer's worth the taking," Lil assured him with another impish smirk and a wink of her own. The scenery was flying by, making her almost disappointed that their little meeting would soon be coming to an end. "Besides, I live for danger. Next to chocolate, it's the world's greatest aphrodisiac."
"Then I'll make sure to bring chocolate." He responded jokingly, "And maybe some coffee if you're sending messages drunk." Bishop glanced to her as he pulled in to park. "You have anything to drink for the night?" He said playfully, giving in to one last opportunity to flirt.
Again, her laughter rung out, causing her nose to crinkle in the way it did when she was truly amused. "No. No plans to head out tonight and while I have a bottle of whiskey stashed in my room for easy access, drinking alone so early into my time here would be rather pathetic. So, I wouldn't be expecting any drunk text messages tonight. Maybe a little phone sex if you're lucky and I'm bored, but that remains to be seen."
Pulling her cell phone from her pocket, Lil handed it over for him to program with his number. "Getting away without a ransom. You botched your kidnapping, Your Excellency."
Bishop put his number into her phone, laughing at the phone sex offer. "That remains to be seen." He handed her phone back with a sexy smirk. "I'll hear from you soon, Lil."
"Count on it," Lil replied with a wink. Opening the door, she slid out of the passenger's seat, pausing only to give him a good view of her ass before walking away. The blonde was halfway up the path, with ear buds back in place and Elvis crooning, when she tossed another lingering smile over her shoulder followed by a little wave. He could most definitely count on hearing for her soon.

He continued on the way to his car, he knew she probably had no plans on it but he was going back to the city and she had just given him permission to do so.
