Backdated to yesterday afternoon. Jennie and Lil meet up on the smoker's porch and bond over ink and exes.

How so many channels could exist on television and yet only show crap was beyond Lil's understanding. Instead of moping in front of the set, flicking through what had to be a million different shows aimed at shrinking her brain, the Amazon pulled herself off the couch and decided to punish her lungs instead. Jacket-less and with an unopened cigarette pack in hand, she made her way down to the smoker's porch and wasted no time in lighting one up. The deep inhale of nicotine helped settle Lil somewhat as she stared out over the mansion grounds though she couldn't help but sigh over the fact that she'd been at Xavier's for almost a month and had accomplished so little.

"So you must be Lil," said a voice from the other end of the porch. It belonged to a girl sitting daintily on one of the benches, lit cigarette in one hand. "I'm Jennie, by the way," she added, flicking her bangs out of her eyes with a toss of her head.

The blonde spun and was halfway crouched into a defense position before it registered she wasn't in any danger. Mentally kicking herself, Lil straightened back to her full height then gave a little, almost sheepish shrug as she took another drag. "Didn't see you there, sorry. Yeah, I am. Nice to meet you, Jennie."

The girl calmly raised an eyebrow at the automatic response and took a drag off her cigarette. She's a big one, she thought appreciatively. "Hold on there cowgirl," Jennie said with a smile, "I'm completely harmless. Today anyway."

"That makes one of us at least," Lil replied with an easy smile, flicking the ash off the end of her cigarette. "My resolution was not to hurt any other smokers so I guess you've gotten lucky." Green eyes flicked over the brunette, taking in the details. "Nice ink."

Jennie looked at the underside of her wrist, where one of her tats was currently showing. She looked back up and smiled. "Thanks," she said. "I have a couple others, but I've been told if I ever want to make it in the professional world of dancing, I need to leave myself as blank a canvas as possible," she made a face. "Which of course means I just need to be creative about placement," Jennie added with an evil little smile.

The Canadian couldn't help but chuckle at that. "Very true. Don't know much about the dance world, though... or tattoos, to be honest. Just always wanted one but that ain't gonna happen unless I have a power outage or something." Her nose wrinkled and she took a few steps closer to the other woman as she blew another puff into the air. "What else you got? And what do the scribbles mean?"

"Ah," Jennie said sagely. "You've got the powers suck. Like, my friend Jay he... he got this tattoo on his arm, right? And then his healing factor ate it like a week later," Jennie very deliberately didn't use past tense. Delusional, maybe, but she wasn't counting them out yet. "I got a couple on my abdomen and my back, but it's cold so I'm not disrobing. But I got this one," Jennie leaned forward and pulled back her scarf to show off her neck tattoo. "That's my first. The ones on my wrists," she displayed her other hand for Lil, "Are Greek, cause, you know, I am. This one's 'Chaos' and this one's 'Order.' It's sort of my power? 'Cause I'm a dork like that." Jennie smiled. Talking about ink always made her happy and chattery.

Lil nodded in appreciation as much as in confirmation of the 'power suck' statement. "Not healing powers here, though. Indestructible. Needle would never break my skin. S'why I've got no piercings, either." Which made shopping for earrings so much a production that she usually just skipped that particular accessory all together. "The order and chaos thing's pretty cool though," Lil continued, half way through her cigarette now. "Not dorky; I'd totally get a diamond design on my hip if I could. How's it your power?"

Jennie tilted her head appreciatively at Lil. "Really? Man, well, that's when we get creative. There's something to be said about temporary tattoos. You know, tattoos are like boyfriends anyway. You gotta make sure you're not going to hate them in five years," Jennie shrugged and took a drag, exhaling slowly. "My power's probability manipulation. Depending on what mood I'm in or what time of the month it is, I can be a lucky charm or a walking, talking, PMS-ing jinx."

She chuckled again as she shook her head. "Haven't had a boyfriend in a looong time. Husband's another story - and also something you've gotta make sure you're not gonna hate in five years; three in my case. Temporary tattoos could be interesting, though." Might be worth a shot playing with someday but the blonde wasn't sure they'd stick thanks to the bioaura. Another slow inhale and Lil blew a long stream of smoke out. "You mean you can walk into a casino and break the house provided it's not that time of the month? Pretty sweet."

"Yeah, there's actually a reason why I'm blacklisted in Monte Carlo," Jennie said nonchalantly, inspecting her nails. "'Cept now they have all sorts of guards and precautions in place to keep mutants from twisting things in their favor. Not that I would again, because that would be wrong," Jennie took another drag. "I remember you saying something about that guy. You need someone punted into orbit?"

"Pity," Lil answered, actually meaning it. If she had a power like that, she'd probably live on a casino floor. Her lips twitched into a brighter smile at Jennie's offer though. "Thanks but I do my own punting. Besides, he'd just commandeer a satellite, turn into some space Cadillac and come rocketing right back."

Jennie shrugged and killed the last of her cigarette, rubbing it out underneath the bench while exhaling. "See, you think too small. This is why we punt him into the sun. Ask my friends, I'm very good at revenge upon their ex-boyfriends. Embarrassing situations, random acts of bad luck, you name it. I should go into business for myself at this rate."

"Well, I know where to go for help if I do have any trouble with Maddy or anyone else in the future," she chuckled, thinking of the way things seemed to be progressing with Bishop though the Amazon sincerely hoped she wouldn't need Jennie's assistance with the latter. "You know, if you need an enforcer to break some spines when you do start up a company, I might be able to give you a hand."

"Excellent, it's a deal," Jennie smiled and offered Lil her hand.

Dropping her own cigarette to the ground then stomping it out, the taller woman took Jennie's hand and gave it a hearty shake. "This could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship."

"Or the cause of several explosions. Either way, we'll have fun," Jennie laughed.
