A pair of teachers and a mix of students and graduates come together for popcorn and movies to relax. The great debate over Transformers ensues.

Daniel was curled up close to Jean-Paul's side with an arm around the shorter man's shoulders. Morgan had declared he needed to get out of his room and to smile. There may have been enough kisses to distract him as Daniel pulled him out of the room and even more until he caved in and trudged along. There was too much erratic emotion floating around the mansion with everything that had gone on since the four missing people had returned and Morgan had declared a night of mindless entertainment for people. Of course, she was liable to sleep through most of it unless she got out a book or had enough people to poke incessantly, which was where Jean-Paul had come in.

There was a stack of movies next to the TV stand in Laurie & Morgan's common room. Some belonged to them, others were nicked from the rec room with the rest belonging to the various people lounging all over the room. Despite all those options it was Ferngully that was currently coming to a close on the screen. It was silly, cute and mindless which was the only reason Morgan had been willing to vote with Laurie on the choice. Of course, Daniel had either fallen asleep or nuzzled into Jean-Paul's neck for the most part through the whole thing. An eye cracked open again only to note that the credits were rolling. Thank god. That was Morgan's good deed for the week.

They had started their movie marathon early for the sake of any of the students that decided to show up. Given the presence of teachers and the fact that it was a school night they had decided the kids ought to be shuffled off toward their rooms, presumably their own, at ten to keep the illusion that Adrienne, Morgan and Jean-Paul were very serious, professional people. Which they were, just not all of them about teaching and curfews. "Is there, perhaps, something with explosions that can follow that?" The Venezuelan accent, that at this point was automatic when Daniel was being worn, was just loud enough to be heard, though the voice was obviously just waking up. Again.

"God, yes please. If I have to watch any more cartoons, I'm going to barf." Kyle was stretched out on the floor, one arm over his eyes and one digging in one of the many bowls of popcorn - this one caramel-apple and sticky and homemade, and he'd spent more time getting caramel out from under his claws than eating it, but it was tasty, and kept his attention off the cartoon. "Cartoons with explosions are cool though."

"Such a boy," Inez teased, reaching one arm over Kyle to steal a handful of popcorn. Of course she wasn't going to admit she dug the explosions as much as any of the guys. Appearances had to be kept up and all.

"I was liking the movie," Yvette protested from here she was sitting on Kyle's other side, close enough to the wall that she could stretch out without hurting anyone. "The bat is being very funny."

"I think we've got that weird angel vs demon movie from Australia." Laurie said uncertainly, from her position on the couch. She'd claimed it the moment she moved from her bed and was now happily ensconced among multiple pillows and blankets. "Gabriel, I think it's called. It has some cool fight scenes."

"What is 'Pitch Black' about?" Jean-Paul had given up on the idea of maintaining his dignity and the hope that going passive would give him the chance to sneak back to the boathouse. Not that being used as a pillow by Morgan-as-Daniel was the worst thing in the world, but still...

"Oooh. Vin Diesel movie. Also a horror movie, sort of. People hanging about in the desert and getting eaten. But hot guy." Laurie noted, laying her head back against her pillow. "Hot guys make all the difference, I find."

Morgan reached over and patted Laurie's leg. "Yes, yes they do." She looked over to Jean-Paul and only grinned. "Aren't there explosions in that? There's killing things. I can settle for killing things."

Yvette wrinkled her nose a little. She didn't know the movie, but it sounded scary. However, she didn't want to leave, either - just about everyone had made at least a momentary appearance, even Nori, and she was enjoying being able to stay close to her friends after everything that had happened. "Perhaps the Transformer movie? There are the explosions in that..." she suggested timidly.

"The Transformer movie sounds great!" Amara said enthusiastically for her spot. She'd arrived with cupcakes early on, and had settled in to watch Ferngully. She'd never seen it before, but it was definitely going on her list of favourite movies now. "I like the yellow robot-thing. It's really cool!"

"There's two of 'em. One from like, the eighties, and one from what, last year?" Kyle didn't do movies in theaters, so he wasn't totally sure. "And it's not -all- cartoons that suck. Just that one. I want explosions." He rolled some of the popcorn into a ball between his hands, and passed it over to Yvette, since the larger ball of popcorn would be easier for her to eat than individual pieces. "The older one's a cartoon. It's pretty not bad."

"I vote for ink and paint over Michael Bay, if there is a choice," Jean-Paul put in.

"I don't believe we have the cartoon one here," Morgan told him. She followed by patting him on the head. It looked less condescending with Daniel doing it than it would have if Morgan was in her own body. Daniel grinned at him and assured him, "You can fall asleep during it with me."

"Loud, bad movie with no scenery to admire," he sighed melodramatically, brushing the strands of hair Daniel had dislodged back into place. "Critique may be my only salvation."

"So surly." Daniel rolled his eyes at Jean-Paul and then kissed his cheek. Mostly the kiss was to spite him. After all, there were students present. Oh, the scandal! "Someone pick something with eye candy so mi corazón does not melt and wither from lack of visual stimulation."

"There's always '300'. Lots of half naked men, fighting each other." Laurie noted sleepily, burrowing down further into her pillows. "There's no explosions though...Maybe 'Independence Day', or 'Twister'? That's got the guy from Princess Bride in it. Although, I think we also have Princess Bride around here as well."

"That one would be good. Not so much for eye-candy, but classics are classics." Jean-Paul was giving Daniel an oddly woebegone look.

Significantly dressed down from what he’d been wearing earlier in the day, Julian strolled in wearing black sweatpants, an undershirt and his favorite red hoodie. “It’s over now, right? Time to watch a real movie?” Julian ignored the eye rolls and caught the pillow that came flying at him; setting it behind himself as he plopped down on the floor next to Inez.

Laurie would have thrown some popcorn but the bowl was way too far away. Instead, she simply waved her hand in its general direction and made pathetic faces at 'Daniel', who she'd taken a few moments to realise was Morgan when he'd first come in and helped her out of bed. It had been a somewhat interesting few seconds when she'd been torn between screaming about weird men in her bedroom, and wondering when they'd gotten a new adult in the mansion.

"Fern Gully is a real movie, you cretin." she said, but the tone of her voice gave her words less bite then they might have had otherwise. "So, any other suggestions, or should we put it to a vote?"

For a moment Laurie only got an amused look back from Daniel, but Morgan did untangle herself from Jean-Paul and crawl over to push the bowl that Laurie was making flailing gestures toward closer to her. "Princessa," Daniel bowed his head as Laurie's hand finally landed in the middle of the bowl. It was as if he'd just followed through with a sacred duty bestowed upon his line for generations. Of course, once that duty was down Daniel was back at Jean-Paul's side, pulling an arm around his shoulders and settling in comfortably once more. "I will, no doubt, fall asleep during anything. My vote only requests fight scenes."

"You do not know this movie?" A moment later, Daniel had been pulled across Jean-Paul's lap, sending an unattended bowl of Fritos down onto Noriko. "Swordfights, dread pirates, screaming eels, and true love? Inigo Montoya? 'To the pain'? None of this rings a bell, my fair?"

Angel cracked open an eye as Kyle dropped popcorn on her face. "Dude, wait until my mouth is open," she grumbled, but not too much since, hey, food. And it was tasty food, too. She was half-propped up on one of his legs but took a moment to beam at Julian. "Welcome to the party. And, hey, I like Fern Gully. The bat is awesome. But I like explosions, though nothing really scary, okay? The last time I watched a horror film, I wound up sleeping under a table." That and she knew Yvette wouldn't like something like that.

"What is with you people and bats?" Kyle asked. "Is there some secret girl club for bats? I thought you were supposed to shriek and run around saying the bat would eat your hair." It's what his mom always had done. "Someone should've gotten that Anastasia cartoon earlier before we said no more cartoons. It has a bat too. He's pretty funny."

"What is with you people and funny bats?" Soon Morgan was going to start thinking up ways to strap dynamite onto the funny bats. She turned toward Jean-Paul and Daniel cocked his head at the man. "'You killed my father, prepare to die'? That one?"

"Yes, that's the one." Jean-Paul returned the head-pat.

The head-pat earned narrowed eyes and then a kiss in retaliation. "I've only ever seen it once, querido. When I was very young."

Laurie had been listening in a somewhat sleepy manner for several minutes now, and had just opened her eyes to see the kiss. She grinned suddenly, and raised her eyebrows. "So, Morgan, are you actually a gay man? I never did find out what your original form was."

At first first the only reaction was to stare at Laurie. Then a grin spread over Daniel's face which would have been very snarky on Morgan but was more charmingly mischievous on Daniel. "Some of the time, princessa." A glance out the corner of his eye to Jean-Paul's face and then Daniel's eyebrows were waggling. "It is very hard to not be so with such a man around." Jean-Paul was going to kill her for saying things like that in front of students.

"I'm working on turning her," Jean-Paul replied smoothly. "If I succeed, I expect to get another medal."

Julian hadn't noticed Angel when he walked in, but had already committed himself to sitting next to Inez. Regardless he returned her smile and reached for some popcorn. "Good explosions, not too frightening," he thought for a moment, "how about Transformers?"

That got a soft giggle and a brief eyeglow from Yvette. "I was saying the same thing," she said. "The great minds are thinking alike, yes?" Then she hid behind her popcorn ball, overcome with shyness.

"Fine, fine! I surrender. Bring on the mind-killer." Jean-Paul sighed and sank boneless onto the couch.

"Poor baby." Laurie murmured, a mischievous smile playing across her mouth. "Why don't you get 'Daniel' to kiss it all better?"

Inez just shook her head and leaned against Julian, stealing some more popcorn. "Can y'all just shut up so we can watch the movie and our chaperone-types can make out while we pretend not to notice?" she drawled.

Daniel nudged Laurie with his foot and his eyebrows waggled. "Don't worry, I already have designs on such things." The look of mischief on his face was a perfect mimic of the one Morgan tended to wear on her own. "Perhaps with loud smacking and sucking and slurping noises. The night would not be complete without me traumatizing one of the minors."

"And here I thought we were supposed to be setting a good example for the minors." Amara smirked a little from her spot. "I am fairly sure once it gets to that point we are supposed to tell you to get a room?"

"I have never made any claims to being a good example." It was a little too easy to refer to Amara as mi reina as Daniel but the impulse was squashed in time. Manuel had never told her it had been Morgan and not he flirting with her in the kitchen as far as Morgan was aware. "Conveniently, my room is just there anyway," Daniel pointed over to the door that stood open to the bedroom.

"Surely it comes with the territory," Amara said with a little bit of a laugh. There were kids in the room! They could keep the shenanigans until after they went to bed, surely. "And now at least we know where to kick you out to."
