Cammie moves in. Jane is surprised. Best Friends Forever? Well...

"...no, you're the cutest. Yes, you are. No, I - HEY! I mean it. You are!" Jane flopped back on the couch with her cellphone and pressed her feet up against the arm, reveling in the knowledge that she had the entire suite all to herself. Not that she didn't miss Rahne, but It was pretty nice to have it all to herself. No one was around to care if she washed the dishes, turned on the tv a little loud, forgot to wear clothes...it was kinda liberating. She sighed contentedly. Oh yeah, this was the life. "What? Fine. I'm the cutest. No, you can't take that back..."

Cammie stood in the doorway listening for a moment. Oh no.

Oh hell no.

After a moment listening to the other girl, a moment too long in her mind given the conversation was just... dribble... she cleared her throat. Loudly.

"Hey. You're Jane, right?"

"Huh?" The new voice startled Jane and she tumbled off the couch as she twisted to see who it belonged to. "Um, I gotta go," she mumbled into the phone, a pink flush rising in her cheeks, before snapping it shut and looking up at the figure in the doorway. "Jane. Yes. Hi?"

Cammie walked right into the room then, "I guess I'll be living here, with you," she was thankful that the idiotic gag inducing phone conversation had stopped. "My name's Cammie."

That didn't last long, Jane thought a bit sadly before pinning a smile to her lips and standing. "Oh! You must be the new girl. Cool. Yeah. I have the room over on this side of the suite and Rahne's old room is over on that side. It's got a really pretty view." She pointed towards the bedroom door. "Do you need any help with your bags?

"I just have the one," Cammie said, "And yeah, I'm the new girl," she looked over towards the bedroom door. So this was going to be home. And this, she glanced at her new suite-mate, was going to be what she was living with. Oh joy.

"Okay then, a nice view. That's nice. So this part of the suite I guess we share then?" Please say that she could banish the moronic phone conversations to its bedroom. That would make her happy. Or, she could go to her room, but whatever.

This suite seemed to have everything a mini-kitchen and stuff...that didn't look very clean, but whatever. She didn't need things to be sanitary.

"Yeah..." Jane cringed as she saw the other girl's gaze take in the disaster of a kitchenette. "Sorry about the mess. I wasn't expecting you just yet," she offered by way of explanation. Or at all. Someone could have warned her. "I'll get that cleaned up lickity split. And I baked some cookies this morning. Chocolate chip. Want one?" She smiled nervously. Somehow she didn't think she and Carmella? Camilla? were going to be instant BFFs.

"Don't break your back or anything. I'm used to it. I was homeless after all," she said, maybe with a bit more sarcasm than she should've as she stood there, sort of nervously. "And I'll pass on the cookies. I can't taste them."

Oh. Well. Great. "All right then. Well," Jane chirped, anxious just to get the heck away from her standoffish new roommate for the the time being. There would be plenty of opportunity for getting to know each other later. "I'll let you unpack and stuff. I'm gonna run down to the main kitchen and get some thing, want e to bring anything back for you?" She slid her fingers over the doorknob, preparing to flee.

"Only if it's growing mold," Cammie returned. Otherwise, the food didn't taste like anything at all. She started towards what would be her bedroom. "Oh," she said looking back at her roomie, "I know it's really none of my business, but there really are better conversations to have with someone than 'oh, you're cuter.'"

Seriously, people could literally drop dead without warning, and she was wasting someone's time with the stupid 'I'm so much cuter' argument?

Jane's face burned with embarrassment. She knew it was a silly conversation, but cripes, it wasn't like she'd asked her to listen. "Wow," she said, her suddenly voice sharp with sarcasm. The flavor of the words was strange to her as they rolled off her tongue. "You know, you're right. It totally isn't any of your business. But thanks for the tip." This was so not going to work out, if she was going to be like, like this about things. Why did Rahne have to move?

Pushing the door open wide, she slipped past Cammie and into the hall. "Later." Hopefully much, much later.

"Yeah, later," Cammie said and headed for her door. No, it wasn't any of her business, but wasting time with someone you were supposed to love when life didn't hand you any favors and could take things away in a heart beat? That annoyed her.

As did relationships in general, she supposed. But more so when the person involved acted like a five year old.
