Lil and Bishop
Feb. 5th, 2009 02:46 amPosted in advance due to being sick and needing bed.
Bishop joins Lil at Harry's for a drinks then accompanies her back to the mansion.
"I'm glad you came," Lil told him for the tenth or so time that evening as she motioned for Briar to fill their glasses again. Last round before closing which was most definitely a good thing otherwise there was a good chance she would be crawling back to the mansion. The night had been merciful slow - which was called for after the misadventure she'd had the day before - and since she wasn't needed, the Amazon had been cut. Though instead of leaving, she'd settled at the bar and invited some company to join her. Clinking the rim of her tumbler to Bishop's, the blonde lifted her head from his shoulder long enough to take a sip of her whiskey. "Lot's been going on and I wasn't sure you'd make it. I'm glad you did, though. And that you're drinking and are gonna stay tonight 'steada driving back," she said with a smile and twinkling hazel eyes before pressing a sweet peck to his cheek.
Bishop laughed softly and grinned to her as she kissed his cheek. "When a sexy blonde invites me for drinks and a night with her I don't refuse." Although Lil had drank quite a bit already, he had dropped in a bit later and was only on his second, leaving him more than capable of driving legally. "This time you even invited me out. I figured it was important. Or at least something I shouldn't pass up. No telling when I'd get the chance again."
"I did but that was in order to get you drunk which is why I offered a spot in my suite so you wouldn't hafta drive home after," Lil pointed out after taking another sip. She placed her glass on the bar then proceeded to drape both arms over his shoulders. "I wanted to be able to celebrate with you. I made it almost two months at Xavier's; got a job I like, joined the team, made it through some fucked up funhouse alive... and you know, any recent accomplishments of your own that you care to share, too. No fair if I'm the only one who's enjoying it." The blonde pouted as she brushed her nose against his. "Don't you wanna have fun, too?"
"I'm enjoying. You just have to give me a moment to catch up." Bishop laughed a bit and took another drink. "I don't have anything specific to celebrate, though. I'm more than happy to celebrate your success." He brushed his nose back to hers softly.
Lil's smile spread and she stole a quick kiss before taking up her glass again. "Great! To celebrations," she chuckled, pouring some of her drink into his and after clinking the rims together, took a healthy sip. "Harry said it was good to leave your car here for the night, too. It'll be okay and we can walk up to the mansion together."
"Sounds nice." He took a quick drink, finishing even what she had put in his glass to pour another one. "Did the residents ever decide on a suitably horrible name for your training?"
The blonde's fingers played over the back of his neck, rubbing and massaging there as inched her chair closer to him. "Bubba. Really, all their suggestions sucked. I mean I coulda totally come up with something good but I didn't wanna give them any ideas, either," Lil told him, sipping the remainder of her drink. "It's better than Nancy so I'm good."
"I'm not sure why they do the code names but walk around out in the open and all live at the same place anyway. It wouldn't take a super spy to put that puzzle together." Bishop laughed a little, staying close with Lil as she played with his neck and leaned against him. He took another drink to keep pace. He wasn't sure if he powers helped her stay sober but his did. His size didn't hurt either. Neither did the fact he drank quite a bit very often.
"Camaraderie," Lil slurred slightly. "Build bonds on the team. I dunno," she laughed, her eyes twinkling with mirth. "'Cause it's fun? I like it; I like Diamond Lil. She's fun - which is what you need to have more of," the blonde declared as her fingers continued to rub the back of his neck. "You need more fun. Me too but you more. The swings and dancing were good but you gotta have more fun and I'm gonna make sure you do."
"Is that so?" He laughed and raised an eyebrow. "Why do I need to have more fun? And how are you going to make sure I do?" Bishop inquired, looking into her eyes and smirking playfully. He finally rested a hand on her leg, returning some of the affection she had been pouring on him
The blonde nodded, sending her ponytail jumping as she beamed at him. "Is so 'cause you do. Everyone needs to have more fun and let go more," Lil declared, tossing back the rest of her drink. She was done for the night - or at least, done at the bar. She had a few bottles of various things back in her room if he wanted to continue. "And this is how I'm gonna do it, like I did tonight. Make sure you get out and get to relax and forget about any bad things that are going on."
"I appreciate you looking out for me, then." Bishop laughed a bit but still sounded very sincere. He hadn't had anyone decide to look out for him, with the exception of partners, ever. She seemed like she'd be pretty dedicated to it, at least at the moment. After finishing one more drink he stood and offered an arm, able to tell she was finished and avoiding a conflict with the bartender, since she had just started.
Sliding off her chair, Lil wrapped one arm around his then tossed off a wave to Briar and Harry after laying done what she owed plus a healthy tip. "See you guys later," she chirped. "Thanks for the parking space. G'night." Ushering Bishop through the door and out into the cold winter night, she clung closer to him in a tipsy attempt to keep the tall man warm. "Back to the mansion, now?"
Bishop took her hand, keeping her close as she clung to his arm. "I think that's the plan. If I remember right I was invited to stay with someone special tonight." He smirked down to Lil, resting his other hand on her arm as they walked slowly and close together.
"Yup. Can't let you drive home; wouldn't be looking out for you, then," Lil pointed out, smiling as they walked hand in hand, arm in arm. "And maybe 'Mara will make breakfast in the morning if we're lucky," she wished out loud. Hopefully something heavy and greasy to help settle the hangover she was sure to have. "Gotta have fun but you gotta do it responsibly."
"We can hope." He replied with a laugh, walking with her toward the mansion. Bishop was content to walk with her, even silently, to the mansion. It was good for him to simply have any outlet for affectionate feelings. "What other fun plans do we have for the night?" He looked down to her and smiled playfully.
"I dunno," Lil said, shrugging. "I got another bottle back in my room if you want more t'drink but I'm sure we can thinka something else if you don't." She nuzzled in closer for a moment, brushing her nose against the side of his neck before pulling away and scampering a head a few steps. In one fluid movement - surprising considering her state - the blonde scooped up a handful of snow, packed it into a small tight and slightly misshaped ball then flung it at her companion with a joyful laugh.
Once the surprise attack was processed, Bishop laughed and darted behind a tree, scooping up some snow into his large hands and returning fire. "Oh that's dirty." He said between laughs, looking around the tree with a smile. "Now I'm going to get you soaked. You've forced my hand."
The tall woman couldn't keep herself from squealing in an extremely girlie manner as she attempted to dodge the snow thrown back at her. Her footing faltered, however, when she made a lunge for a nearby tree and instead of finding protection, Lil slipped and landed on her rear which only caused her to laugh louder.
When she fell Bishop shot over to tackle her and prevent more snow attacks. He moved to pin her wrists first, pushing her more into the snow in the process. "I don't even know why you'd try against me." He said with a laugh, gloating with his current quick success.
Lil squeaked when he fell on top of her then continued to laugh loud and joyfully as she tried to squirm her way to freedom. "Always gotta try. Never know when things'll go your way," the Amazon told him. Her eyes shown with happy tears and her hair fanned out over the snow, framing her rosy face that was full of drunken glee. "S'about having fun, tonight, remember?"
"That's right and we have somewhere to be." Bishop scooted back to get to his feet and as he did he hoisted Lil up across his shoulders, lying on her side facing forward. "Someone told me that I was staying with her tonight so I'd better not be late." He spoke playfully, resuming his path toward the mansion with her still held up on his shoulders.
She made a little noise of protest as she was lifted but then dissolved into another fit of giggles as he carried her. "You just wasted the perfect make-out setup," Lil told him through her chuckles with as much seriousness as she could muster. "Girl pinned in the snow; you don't watch enough movies."
"We'll have plenty of chances for that I'm betting." He looked to her with a grin. "Right now I'm worried about you making me freeze to death." Bishop kept her hoisted up, carrying her to the mansion. "And I suspect you like being lifted up and carried around more right now." He knew full well he was one of the few people around that could over power her and treat her like a usual woman.
"I'da kept you warm," Lil promised, running a hand down his chest. "And there's better ways to be carried then hung around your shoulders like a prized goat," she pointed out as she tried not to squirm as he carried her. "But yeah, I do like that you're strong enough to... I like it, a lot."
Bishop swung Lil around carefully so he was carrying her in front of him, cradled in his arms unlike before. "This better for you?" He smiled down to her, able to get the door to the mansion even while carrying her.
Both arms went around his shoulders and the blonde beamed happily at him, nuzzling her face into the crook of his neck comfortably. "Much," Lil said and pressed a kiss to the curve of his jaw while her legs kicked playfully. "Gonna carry me all the way up to my room?" she asked, never turning to watch where they were going. "How gallant, Your Excellency."
"No telling when you might fall again." He let her praise pass without much acknowledgment as he did, in fact, carry her up and into her room. Bishop didn't interrupt her as she nuzzled in, just letting her enjoy before they arrived. He had to eventually set her down, since they were still wet from playing in the snow.
A little nip to his ear and Lil freed herself from his embrace, knowing even in her stupor that should anyone see them, the mansion was going to be a hotbed of rumors. She fished her key out of her bag and after gesturing over her shoulder for him to be quite, slowly opened the door, not wanting to disturb her suitemate if the other girl was studying. Amara wasn't anywhere in sight and taking Bishop's hand, Lil lead him into the living room before shutting the door again. "'Mara's sleeping," she whispered, peeling off her coat and dropping her bag onto the table. "Lemme take yours."
Bishop slipped his jacket off and handed it over, extra quiet since they were sneaking in. He headed for her room, watching to make sure she was coming, wanting to get out of the living room so they didn't have to be quite so silent or worry about waking Amara up. He opened the door for her, following her in.
Tossing his coat next to hers, she made her way into her bedroom, still smiling at him though now there was a touch of giddiness in her eyes. "When I invited you to stay, I kinda meant it that there was couch open for you," Lil said softly as she stood in front of him, fists planted on her hips.
"That's not how it sounded to me at all." He said entirely innocently. "In fact, I thought you specifically mentioned me staying in your bed with you." Bishop grinned mischievously. "I thought we were going to have more drinks too. We'd have to be far too quiet in the living room."
"I said nothing of the sort," Lil declared poking him playfully in the chest. "You're right about the living room though but the drinks are in the kitchen so I'm gonna go get it and some glasses and I'll be right back. Make yourself comfortable." Bumping him with her hip, she pushed past him and with an impish smile of her own disappeared back through the door into the shared areas of the suite.
Bishop got as comfortable as he could in wet clothes, getting down to a T-shirt. Fortunately his pants had stayed pretty dry. He sat on the chair at her desk and got his shoes off, then waited quietly for Lil, looking around a bit at the things she had out to get a feel for how she was in her own room without prying too much.
There wasn't much in the way of decoration; she hadn't had time to spruce the place up and make it feel lived in yet but thankfully most of her things from home had arrived. A few pictures sat on her desk: a curly haired child with two adults; a tall and awkward girl making a face at whoever was taking the photo. One of her in her teens with another girl about her own age who bore a resemblance to Garrison Kane. None of her later years, however. Those were all tucked away, hidden beneath her bed along with the pain and betrayal she still felt every time she looked at them.
Lil returned a few minutes later, hands full of whiskey, two glasses and a bowl of ice. She nudged the door shut with her foot and kicking off her own shoes, climbed onto her bed. "Come over here so we can get more drunk," the blonde laughed as she held one of the tumblers out to him.
With a laugh, Bishop moved over. He took a tumbler from her and sat near the head of her bed so he could lean back. "No ice for mine." He kept the glass held out some for her.
"Wasn't sure," Lil said as she held the whiskey bottle with her legs so she could drop a few cubes into her own glass. She set aside the bowl and opening the bottle, the blonde poured a healthy amount in each of their tumblers then turned so she could sit, facing him. "To celebrating and having company to celebrate with," Lil toasted, clinking the edge of her glass against his.
Bishop finished the toast and smiled to her before drinking his glass full and setting the tumbler onto her desk. "I think that should finish me for the night." He thought she had been done a while ago but he didn't say anything about it. He was good at regulating himself and getting just enough alcohol in him to feel it without getting wild.
"Pfft," was Lil's very childish response. "You make me get the whiskey and then only have one?" She was only sipping on hers, small little tastes as she watched him with happy eyes over the rim. Careful not to spill, the blonde inched closer and dropped her legs over his and leaned back, supporting herself on one arm atop the green sheets. "You just wanted me out to snoop, didn't you? Find anything interesting while I was gone?"
"Nothing I didn't already know." He fired back with a grin, leaning back against the head of the bed more, leaving her legs in his lap. "You also poured my drinks way more full than your own. I think you're just trying to get me far too drunk, but I'm not falling for it.
Her eyes narrowed slightly. "Why would I try to get you far too drunk? And I don't believe for an instant that you didn't snoop," she told him, nudging his hip with her foot, playfully.
"To take advantage of course." Bishop laughed when she questioned about his snooping again. "And I didn't, I sat in your chair the whole time." He thought for a moment. "But now I'm thinking that I should have. There's clearly something you're afraid I found." And in the blink of an eye he was off and moving toward the top drawer of her dresser. That's where all the best secret things were kept.
The blonde rolled her eyes. "There's nothing in there but my underwear," she told him, putting her drink aside then flopping onto her back to watch him upside down. "Dun think they'd fit you, Your Excellency. I got sweatpants you can wear to sleep in if you want, though."
"I was more interested in how they fit you." He held up the tiniest pair she had, looking at them and her as he visualized, then he put them away and shut the drawer. "I'll pass on the sweat pants. Too constricting for sleep." He got down on a knee as she laid back, letting her head hang off the bed. Without warning her gave her lips one quick, soft, sweet kiss.
Lil opened her mouth to say something smart in return but was cut off by the kiss. She smiled into it the reached up to wrap her hands around the back of his head and hold him close for a longer, warmer exchange that left her purring when they pulled away. "I don't think 'Mara would like waking up to a naked man on our couch, Lucas," the blonde laughed softly, running her fingers over the back of his neck.
"Then I'd better stay in here with you." Bishop fired back, smiling and giving her another affectionate kiss as her head hung upside down. "I wouldn't want to make things tense with your room mate."
"Luuucaaas," she whined as she shifted so she was kneeling on the bed in front of him. "You were supposeda sleep on the couch," Lil said with a little pout before she sighed dramatically. "Fine. You can stay in my bed but there are rules. First, you're wearing pants and I'm wearing 'jammas. Second, no sex." Despite how much alcohol they'd had, she was determined to keep that rule intact. "But, we can still have some fun," the blonde promised, taking his hands in hers. She guided them upwards to hover over her chest for a moment before giving each palm a peck then directing them back to her hips when she dove in for another heated kiss. "Whadda you say?"
Bishop laughed as the rules were explained and when she finished, after the deep kiss, he climbed up onto the bed with her. He pushed her back and settled over her, laying another intense kiss on her lips as he squeezed her hips. "Sounds like a deal."

"I did but that was in order to get you drunk which is why I offered a spot in my suite so you wouldn't hafta drive home after," Lil pointed out after taking another sip.
