Morgan comes to see Manuel after she returns and finds him trying to fill out forms about his sister, information he knows nothing about. A certain someone comes up in casual conversation and it suddenly turns ugly when neither parties are willing to budge on their passionate opinions.

It had taken her a few days to find the time to get around to his suite, but eventually found herself knocking on the door and wondering if it would be Manuel or his mini-me who answered the door. Or...didn't he have a suitemate now? Poor Manuel, joining the legions and being forced to cohabit. An arm was up on the frame of the door which Morgan leaned into and once the door was opened by the Spaniard she began to speak. "No injuries. No new holes. No case of death. Didn't you mention a list I had to come back to retrieve?"

"I see you are whole." He gave her a once over, without the leering he was known for as a teenager and would have abandoned her at the door if he didn't have a wretched feline to worry about now. "Either you are in, or out," he gestured. "The cat likes to try and get out at every possible opportunity."

"Why do you have a cat?" Morgan gave him an odd look because she didn't peg Manuel as the sort to willingly keep animals which would be dependent upon him for anything. The fact that he had a little sister was already startling enough. She did, however, slip through the doorway and shut the door behind her quickly.

"It is not _my_ cat," he said with a hint of distaste. "It is Kyle's feline." He returned to the couch, settling down to resume his hunch over files and documents spread out on the coffee table. "Valentia is not here. She is in school; however I am having trouble with the administration. They are demanding very important details. I do not even know what it is that she is allergic to." He picked up a pen and waved impatiently over the things he was required to work out.

"You adopted Kyle?" Morgan arched an eyebrow at him. She didn't figure Manuel for the sort to willingly live with anyone any more than she figured him for keeping pets. She followed after him and perched on the arm of his couch. "You could just make a doctor's appointment, you know. Get a physical done, blood work and allergy testing. Suddenly you'd have all sorts of information they want and you currently lack. Ingenious, really."

"Have you tried coaching a four year old to sit still while someone approaches her with a needle? Jean is good with children however, I must admit, I am trying to avoid that at all costs. The emotional frenzy I must go through concerning needles is not worth the effort, although I will consider the allergy test, since it is only scratches." He ignored the part about Kyle. Many people would raise their eyebrows at the two moving in together, especially with a cat in tow to the unlikely pair. "Most of the testing was done with we first arrived. Jean did a physical and it is not the only information I am required to give."

"Couldn't you use use your empathy to sedate her anyway? You're like a walking drug cabinet as far as emotional responses. Or, you know, Laurie's got the pheromones thing going on. If she was fully functional she could probably zone out the kid." Morgan craned her neck, eyes glancing over the form he was glaring at. "What else do they want? Favourite food, list? Age of first steps? How long she's been mute? When did her teeth grow in? Any number of other pointless facts you don't know because you just acquired her?"

"No," Manuel barked to Laurie's name, harsher than he intended. He toned it down and somewhat settled in his gaze, looking up at her from his seat. "Do not ever bring Valentia to Laurie. We have already had an.... altercation concerning her powers. She makes mine uncontrollable and the last time we were together, I was taking her to her prom - a very ghastly mistake on my part. The night did not end pleasant." He waved dismissively on the subject and held up a sheet for Morgan, passing one to her while he glanced over the second.

Morgan's eyes widened and she stared at Manuel. "What, you and Peaches had issues? I thought Xavier put like a plastic bag over Valentia's empathic head so to speak or whatever, anyway? So technically Peaches isn't any more a danger to little bit than she is to me, right?" Or maybe she wasn't right. Maybe Morgan was way off base, but he'd had a damn violent reaction to the mention of her suitemate. She let herself be distracted by the form Manuel had handed her. "Jesus, she's four, why do they need this much bloody information? It's not like she's a convict with a rap sheet or summat."

"Valentia is not immune to other empaths. I am not sure about Laurie's power and I would rather not find out. Having a traumatized four year old will not make me pleased." Manuel folded the sheet into him, leaning on his elbow as he regarded Morgan more seriously. "I cannot stress how important that you not introduce them." Manuel's eyes held something different in them, something dark and protective over his sister, so much that he did not want any dealings with Laurie at all.

Morgan rolled her eyes at him. "Laurie doesn't have an emotions thing, she has a biology thing. Valentia being vulnerable to other empaths has no effect whatsoever on her immunity to Laurie. Besides, Laurie can always just not use her powers." Before he could argue the point Morgan put up a hand to silence him. "Out of respect I won't intentionally introduce them, but I do think you're overreacting about this and I do think you need to remember they are both in the mansion. Paths cross all the time around here and unless Laurie, Valentia and every single person little bit might be with all know to avoid the two mixing it's going to happen eventually. Maybe you should talk to Jean or Xavier about the possibility of their powers interacting in an all bad way so you can have more definite answers than your own suspicions?"

"I will do just that, however it will not sway me on my refusal to have them meet. Laurie and I are simply not. That is the way it will be, regardless and Valentia is no exception. My feelings towards Laurie will reflect on Valentia and it will not go well. She and I are linked, or have I forgotten to mention that?" Manuel placed the sheet of paper down and he gave Morgan his full attention now. "I will be _very_ angry if it happens." He would not only be very angry, but would not allow that person to see Valentia again, and stressed this through his gaze. "Laurie almost made me do things I would prefer _not_ to do. Her powers pull mine and vice versa. I am not interested in hearing how unforeseen events will likely make them cross paths because I will see that it does not happen."

Morgan waved a hand dismissively. "Whatever, you guys got into bad mojo. It's in the past, Valentia is only a kid, not everyone in the mansion knows your beef with Peaches and shit fucking happens. So how 'bout you get your head out of your ass, pretend to be an adult and get over it? You're not going to forbid someone from seeing your little sister because they are in the kitchen when Laurie comes in or something equally accidental. Besides, whatever the fuck you and Peaches got into isn't likely going to repeat itself with your sister anyway. And if you go around hating on Laurie for some unavoidable powers shit and you put that influence into Valentia I will be really fucking cranky at you."

"You do not _know_ what you talk of," he said firmly and his mood soured significantly. "Perhaps you are not hearing me correctly. If you are not going to agree to this, then there is no trust for me to allow you to spend time with Valentia alone. These are _my_ wishes and if you cannot respect them, instead choosing to wave them off as irrational, then you are showing me great deal of disrespect. I do not fucking _care_ about Laurie. I _care_ about Valentia," he snapped. This had been the first time he vocally expressed how he felt about his sister and his protective nature only tightened its hold on her at the subject of Laurie.

"Maybe you're not listening, but I said I wouldn't intentionally introduce them already! I, however, am not going to be held responsible for anything outside of my realm of control, do you hear me?" Morgan narrowed her eyes and stood up, the sheet of paper she'd been handed earlier was left on the couch next to Manuel. "But if you want to vilify Laurie to someone do it to someone the fuck else because I am not going to sit here and let you make her some grand villain for your play. Whatever the fuck happened between you happened between both of you, which means you're likely just as much to blame for whatever the fuck it is. You want to protect your little sister and I said I respect that, but don't go making mine out to be some monster in the process. You want to protect Valentia from monsters then keep her away from me, not from some kid who's half terrified of her powers!"

"I AM _NOT_ TURNING HER INTO A VILLAIN." His fist hit his knee for emphasis. He sighed, running a hand over his creased brow. He did not yell often, nor did he swear, however he felt this subject was being dismissed and it infuriated him that she assumed it would happen regardless. As though she would not stop it if it came to that. "All I am asking - no, demanding - is that you prevent it if you see it might happen. I will not have them meet, if I have to slap up a public post about it, I will."

"Slap up a public post. 'Keep my little sister away from the terrible Laurie lest their powers cause the world to implode, even though I'm not actually sure whether or not anything will actually happen.' It'll be a real fucking hit." She thought he should stop freaking out and go talk to someone who could tell him whether or not there would be powers complications given whatever Xavier did to limit the expression of Valentia's empathy so that only other empaths could be affected by her. Instead, Manuel was insisting upon being an ass whose decision was to somehow be in charge of the universe so that the two never crossed paths even for a moment despite living in the same fucking house.

Morgan spun around and headed for the door. "The only people with the right to make demands on me are my employers. You can talk to me when you pull your head out of your ass and realize that. Or you can not talk to me. Either way, up to you." And then Morgan was gone because she wanted no part of that conversation anymore and she could tell neither of them were giving an inch on their positions. All they would do is continue to yell at each other and she wasn't in the mood for it.
