Catseye visits Cammie wanting to learn the 'tricks' behind drinking bleach in her quest to eat more like human people. Cammie, not wanting the catgirl to poison herself presents another option.

Experimentations with human food had Catseye knocking on the door to Cammie's room, wondering if there was some way to acquire the taste for the food Cammie enjoyed eating. "BlackBloodGirl?" she called out, "can Catseye try some of BlackBloodGirl's bleach please? Catseye wants to know if it is yummy human food."

Cammie was half asleep when the knock at the door came and then the last bit woke her up completely. She went and opened the door to her room, looking like she had just rolled out of bed, because she had.

"Okay, I'm hoping I totally heard you wrong there. Now what?" she asked, squinting her eyes at the catgirl who was quickly becoming a napping buddy at the least.

"Catseye does not want to eat mice and alive birds and frogs and bugs anymore," the catgirl explained, almost apologetically, seeing that she had woken Cammie up. "Catseye is only going to eat human food now. So Catseye is wanting to try different foods, and Catseye thought BlackBloodGirl's food might be yummy if there is a special way to eat it that BlackBloodGirl could teach Catseye!"

Cammie looked up at Cats as she explained it and her eyes widened on the last, "Oooohkay. First off, there's nothing wrong with you eating birds and mice and stuff, secondly..." Crap, how could she explain this without yelling 'NO DON'T DRINK BLEACH, DUMBASS'? She sighed, "Okay, come in for a minute. You and I are going to have a little talk about what I do, okay?" she said, moving from the door so Cats could come in. The room was still extremely bare. Cammie didn't really do anything to furnish it other than what was already there. Cammie sat down on the desk chair backwards, her chest and arms pressed into the chair's back. "You can sit on the bed if you want. Blankets should still be warm."

Eager to hear the talk, Catseye flopped down on the bed cross-legged and wriggled a little to get the blankets into more of a nest shape. "Eating like a cat is wrong when it means Catseye loses games and lets down teammates and friends," she told Cammie, sounding disappointed. "Catseye is only going to eat human food now because Catseye is... a human." It almost hurt to say it, but it was the truth, and the humiliation she still felt at losing Arcade's game over an inability to control the animal part of her nature made her more resolved to try eating like a human.

"Okay, I get the feeling I'm missing something here," Cammie said, raising an eyebrow and running a hand through her hair to get it out of her face. "How is eating like a cat when you are like a cat hurting anyone? I mean, how I eat, well, I don't eat like a normal person. My food hurts normal people."

"Catseye used to think Catseye was a cat, but Catseye is a human mutant who can be a cat because of powers," she told the green-haired girl. "When Catseye had to play the runway game at laser tag Catseye was supposed to go across the path as a human and not eat the mousies that were running all over. It was important to Catseye's team. But Catseye thought the mice would be so yummy, so Catseye turned into a cat and went to eat the mousies and then Catseye lost the game!" she finished on a near-sob. "Catseye's team thought Catseye died. Catseye did not like that, it was a verybadthing. So Catseye decided that mousies will not be yummy anymore. Only human food will be yummy. And Catseye thought maybe BlackBloodGirl could teach Catseye how to make her food not hurt and maybe Catseye would like it too. Catseye knows BlackBloodGirl does not eat like a normal person but Catseye thinks maybe BlackBloodGirl could teach Catseye how to eat it and then Catseye would not lose games anymore!"

Cammie listened, though she couldn't make heads or tails of most of the story. Something about eating mice on a runway costing her a game of laser tag. Though how someone would think you died during a game of laser tag was beyond Cammie. Maybe if you got hit in the head with enough red paintballs someone would think you had bought it. But laser tag?

"I can't teach you how to eat what I eat. It would make you really sick. And to you it would taste icky. But here's the thing, do you still like mice?" Cammie asked, "Are mice still yummy?"

Catseye pouted a little at being told that Cammie couldn't teach her how to eat what she ate, and squirmed on the bed at the question about mice. "Mousies are yummy, yes. But many things are yummy and many yummy things are human food and Catseye wants to try and find all the yummy human foods!"

"Maybe you should just stick to mice and tuna," Cammie suggested, "The only thing you really gotta learn is not to eat when you're not supposed to eat. Not just to eat human food. I mean, wouldn't it be boring if you couldn't hunt mice anymore?"

The catgirl shook her head. She actually didn't miss hunting mice all that much- though the fact that it was winter might have had something to do with her lethargy as well. It was one of the reasons the mice on the catwalk in Arcade's game had seemed so tempting- because she hadn't had such easy prey in months. "Catseye hunts MiniSquid and plays Hunt and Chase with humans and with shinythings so Catseye does not get bored." Plus, her work with the play, and homework, were keeping her occupied. "Catseye does not know how to not eat when you're not supposed to eat. Can BlackBloodGirl teach Catseye?"

"Well, generally when you're hungry. But if you're in a life and death situation you shouldn't be hunting mice, you know?" Cammie said, hoping that was the right way to phrase it. "Some people really get hung up on having times to eat so you could eat with the other people here, I guess."

Why hadn't she thought of that before? "Only eat at times other humans eat?" After thinking about it for several seconds, Catseye threw herself at Cammie to wrap the girl in a hug, careful of the left arm and stomach. "That is a veryveryverygood idea, BlackBloodGirl! If BlackBloodGirl thinks that will work Catseye thinks so too!" She wasn't sure how Cammie felt about hugs, so she didn't linger, jumping back onto the bed and grinning. "When BlackBloodGirl says 'some people' and also 'eat with the other people' does BlackBloodGirl not mean herself? Does BlackBloodGirl not eat with the other humans?"

Cammie had to hold herself back. The sudden physical contact came very close to forcing a discharge just out of shock. She was more than happy when Catseye let go, "No, I don't eat with other people," she said, trying to shake off some of the sudden tenseness, "And don't do that again, okay? It's really not safe. But yeah, I don't eat with other people because some people get sick really easily."

"Catseye does not get sick!" she said quickly, not wanting Cammie's feelings to be hurt. Her heightened sense of smell meant that the things Cammie ate did make her queasy, but she didn't want Cammie to feel bad. "If BlackBloodGirl wants to, Catseye will eat with BlackBloodGirl so BlackBloodGirl does not have to be alone, and Catseye will learn to eat only when BlackBloodGirl does!"

"Yeah, but most people eat during the day. I only eat at night," Cammie pointed out. Well, that was slowly changing. The other day she had actually been up and around by about three in the afternoon. But that wasn't the point here right now. "I wouldn't want you to have to stay up really late just so we could eat together."

The purple-haired girl kneaded her claws into Cammie's bed to remake her nest. "Catseye likes to snack at night on mousies." Maybe if she learned to eat only at specified times she didn't have to give up hunting. "How about Catseye finds someone to eat at times with a regular human and also with BlackBloodGirl at night sometimes? Then Catseye can eat like a human during the day but like Catseye at night!" She and Cammie could partake of their weird foodstuffs together when no one else was around. "Sometimes Catseye likes to hunt alone but Catseye likes BlackBloodGirl so if BlackBloodGirl wanted company for eating late at night Catseye could be BlackBloodGirl's friend!"

"Um.... okay. If you really want to I won't stop you," Cammie said, shaking her head. She wasn't going to straight out say no, it seemed to mean a lot to the catgirl who hadn't done anything other than sleep in her room when she was in cat form. And she was still too drowsy to think clearly, "So yeah... knock yourself out. But totally eat with people during the day if you want to eat like people do."

Sensing hesitation, Catseye abandoned her nest. "BlackBloodGirl does not want to be Catseye's friend?"

"Oh, I like having friends," Cammie said yawning, "Sorry, I'm really out of it right now. But you're nice and if I'm going to have a friend it should be you. Sometimes friends of mine get hurt though," that was putting it mildly. "So I worry and junk."

The catgirl set her jaw stubbornly. "Catseye only hurts when friends don't want to be friends anymore," she said with a touch of sadness in her voice. "Don't be worried, BlackBloodGirl. Mansion will help so BlackBloodGirl won't hurt anyone with her powers." Smiling a little wanly, she shifted to the far side of the bed. "BlackBloodGirl wants to nap? Can Catseye stay?" She shifted into catform when she'd finished saying it, crouching down on the bed to get herself comfortable and watching Cammie intently.

"Well you did wake me up," Cammie said with a yawn and wandered back over to the bed. She'd eventually get back a somewhat normal schedule she was sure. In the mean time, face met pillow and she was out like a light.
