Godhand: Jubilee, Remy, Illyana, Sofia
Mar. 13th, 2009 09:19 pm Jubilee, Remy and Bishop go after the information they need to remove the glove.
Jubilee checked through her equipment one more time and then slung her pack over a shoulder, before securing it over the other. She glanced over at Remy, who had just finished opening the gate into the storm water drain that would take them into the sewers, and then into the subbasement.
"I'm ready." she said quietly, her stance relaxed despite the tense tone in her voice.
"Dat's nice." Remy said absently, carefully setting the gate aside, and looking into the sewer below. The bank's subbasements were not directly connected with the sewers, but in fact, the tunnels ran parallel to the large power conduits, which they could access secretly. From there, they led directly into the bottom of the internal elevator structure, giving them clear access to the entire building. There would be security, but mostly it would be physical elements; locks, sealed grates, and barred access ways, far simpler to defeat than the electronic security inside and outside of the building.
"Bishop, you in position?" Remy spoke softly into his mike, hoping the man was ready to access the roof. They needed him inside the security system quickly, before they could finish moving.
"Ready when you are." Bishop glanced out over the edge of the roof for one quickly look before stepping up to the emergency door and checking the line he had used. He moved over to the circuit box, tracing the lines to the camera system. "Just give me the word and we'll do this."
"Jubilee and I are moving. Tap into de closed circuit feed and start timing dat guard. We need to be exact." Bishop was enough of a pro that the last sentance wasn't likely needed, but they absolutely had to come through clean on this break in, and Remy wasn't taking any chances.
Moving ahead of Jubilee, Remy focused on bypassing the physical security, his own skills with normal and electronic locks a great deal faster than his younger colleague, who was left carrying the bags of equipment. There were a few uncomfortable moments as they eeled into the access ways, but Istanbul's own infrastructure worked in their favour, as the systems were quite old, and not in excessively good repair, hiding any slight alterations they needed to make.
Finally, the bottom of the elevator shaft structure was ahead of them.
It wasn't terribly impressive from this end of things, just a large square concrete block with a steel door. It didn't take Remy long to open it, and then they were inside, looking up at the long, smooth shaft above them.
"That's going to be an utter bitch to climb." Jubilee noted, looking for the safety ladder that most elevator shafts were equipped with.
"We're not climbing it." Remy said, reaching into the bag and pulling out a pair of belts with clips. He secured one securely around Jubilee's waist, and then his own. As if on cue, one of the elevators descended towards them, stopping only a few feet about their heads. Remy clipped the belts to climbing cords, and then to the bottom of the car. Bishop had heard one of the bankers mention a late meeting while talking with a friend outside, and the car had to descend all the way to let them access the underground parking.
"If dey following normal protocol, dat banker should be de last one out of de secure areas, which means de guard will take de elevator to de top floor, and start a floor by floor sweep of de building. We'll catch a ride until it reaches our floor." LeBeau explained, as they were jerked upwards by the elevator starting up.
Dangling under the bottom of a moving elevator didn't count as fun for anyone, especially preoccupied with counting floors. Remy took a secure grip on the bottom of the car, motioning for Jubilee to do the same, and hit the release on the belt. They both uncoupled, and Remy swung himself out to the side of the shaft, grabbing a handhold on the metalwork near the door. Once Jubilee had done the same, they levered the door open.
"We've got maybe three minutes." He hissed as they spilled into the darkened hallway. "Bishop, countdown on killing de power. You tell me when dat guard is one floor above us!"
"You're about to find out." Since he managed to clear his system, Bishop felt a bit more in control of his abilities than before. It was a simple take for him to siphon off some energy without breaking the circuit and tripping the alarm. It was also abrupt for the team, not much warning was available between the time he saw where the guard had decided to go and when he had to act.
Jubilee waited till her eyes had adjusted to the dull glow of moonlight through shuttered office windows, the only illumination that lit the area around them now that the power for the florescent lights had been cut. She waited for Remy to lead the way forward, content to watch and learn for the moment.
When you were working with someone who had years of experience beyond your own, you didn't try and take point, not unless you were hopelessly arrogant. Jubilee had learnt a hard lesson about arrogance, it wasn't one she cared to repeat.
Remy padded forward to the door in the hall, looking at the electronic keypad. Carefully, he unscrewed the casing, and attached two alligator clips to the internal circuitry from a small box he was carrying.
"Security keypads have a small internal power source in case of blackouts. De problem is dat de power is only enough to control de latching mechanism, and not de computer link dat records de number of times a combination has been tried, or record de opening and closing of de door." Remy explained to Jubilee. He sprayed the keypad with a small aerosol can, and then pulled out a black light, which he shone over the pad. Four numbers lit up with black prints, and he keyed them into the box.
"Dis will run four, five, and six digit combinations until we get de right one." Remy said, and they crouched silently for a few minutes until the door suddenly clicked open. "Bein, Remy clean up here. Bishop, Jubilee's at de first bank of lasers. Get ready to kill de whole building."
Bishop moved to the primary power cables, which were bundled and protected as part of the security system, unlike the secondary circuit which controlled more minor system. He flipped out a pocket knife, having to wiggle the blade between the metal rings to reach the electricity itself. He was glad his Grandmother wasn't watching, she'd always told him not to stick metal in sockets.
With his mutation, it was electricity that should be afraid of him, however. "Going dark." Bishop rerouted the power through himself in one quick jolt, killing the entire building's power before the alarm even had a chance to react. The guards would though; there was no doubt of that.
As the power went, Remy tapped Jubilee, giving her the go signal. As she dashed down through the corridor, the laser alarm system was dead, waiting for the turnover into emergency power. Remy mentally ticked off the seconds as he went the other way, towards their escape route. Through the wide glass wall, he could see the door from to the stairs in the hall begin to open. One of the guards was moving quickly then he hoped, and LeBeau slid beneath one of the desks, and pulled himself up on the casters so no mass would show.
The beam from the flashlight danced around through the glass, and was cut away as the light came back on. Satisfied, the guard continued his rounds, and Remy once again allowed himself to touch the floor. He moved to the conference room, now past the internal security, and deftly picked the lock. Once in, he moved the table slightly and climbed on top, removing a couple of tiles in the ceiling.

Jubilee had made it into the computer room as the power came back on, considering all the security was the keep people out of rooms like this, she didn't think there would be any further problems. Still, she waited a moment, listening to the sound of her own breathing as it slowed just to make doubly sure. Assumptions meant diddly squat on this job, she had to be sure, every second or things would go pear shaped faster then she could spit.
No alarm sounded, and no guards came rushing out of nowhere to grab her, which meant that as far as security near the door went, she was fine.
She took a moment more to take a good look around, letting her palm light up with a small spark to illuminate her surroundings. There was a single desk off to the far left of the room, and a pot plant nearer the door. The surface of the desk was empty of anything but a small round container containing pens, and a novelty calendar.
Ignoring the seemingly empty desk, she walked over to the pot plant and felt around under it, grinning as she pulled out the key from underneath. It was such an obvious place to put a key, but she thought perhaps nobody was expecting anyone to keep looking after they saw the seemingly empty office.
Moving quickly, she moved around the desk and tried the small key in the large drawer at the bottom, it clicked and she pulled, revealing a filing cabinet that contained no files, but did have a laptop nestled safely in the bottom, surrounded by foam insulation.
She pulled it out and placed it on the desk, powering it up as she placed her bag beside it and pulled out the device Mark and Doug had designed for her. She'd learnt a bit since her last attempt at hacking into a computer, spent time with both Doug and Mark, learning as much as she could.
Seeing the windows start up screen, she carefully placed the small oblong device into the side of the laptop, watching as it whirred softly for a moment and then brought up a small screen. Combinations slowly scrolled across the screen, each successfully letter being placed in the password field until with a grin, she saw the computer log in.
Now all she needed to do was retrieve the information, and get the hell out of here. It took a few minutes of searching, but she finally found the folder she was after. She looked through the information for a moment to make sure it was what they were after, and then transferred it over to the device. That done, she unhooked the lot, and then slipped the laptop back into the desk drawer, locking it before returning the key to under the pot plant where it belonged.
Nothing could be out of place, and it was several more minutes of work to make sure she would leave no traces of herself behind. After that, it was a simple enough matter to slide a panel of the roof open and leave via the crawl space. Something that might not have been so easy for someone of a larger, heavier build but with her light frame it was a piece of cake.

"Come on, petite." Remy said, helping her down from the ceiling space. Quickly they replaced the tiles and relocked the door, removing all evidence of their presence. Remy opened the door to the balcony, and they stepped out forty stories above the city.
"Bishop, we're ready to go."
A large duffel bag was down and open, Bishop already getting ready. "At least you two are. I'm not sure this suit is going to be able to hold someone like me up in the air."
Jubilee didn't take the time to answer, simply pulling her wing suit from the bag and quickly getting into it. She glanced over once at Remy, noting that he was already into his and then back at Bishop as she struggled with the unfamiliar clothing.
She didn't give herself much chance to look over the edge, but simply pushed herself off into the darkness, the wind quickly pushing up into the fabric that hung under her arms and between her legs. She adjusted slightly, aiming herself toward the drop zone, her ears deafened with the sound of the rushing wind moving past them.
She couldn't see if Remy and Bishop had made it off the building, and she wasn't able to look back now, or she'd risk pulling something vital in her neck. She could only hope that they had, and that their suits and parachutes operated to expected standards. It was only four seconds before she reached to her chest and pulled the cord that would release her suit, but it seemed like forever, her eyes scanning the streets and buildings below her.
They'd only have a certain amount of time once they hit the drop zone, but a car should already be waiting for them to use. It wouldn't do to have gotten the information they needed, only to be arrested by police for base jumping.
Parachute deployed, it was only a second later that she was jerked upwards, the wings underneath her arms releasing so she could reach up and fly herself inward toward the drop zone. They'd made it, now all they had to do was get the information to the Bucharest team.
