Yvette and Angel spend the evening having a roomie night in the suite and talk boys. Of course.

“So, girl’s night in!” Angel called through the suite as she shut the door behind her with her foot. Her arms were overflowing with food and DVDs she’d nicked from the common rooms and it took her a minute to get her balance back. “I’ve got popcorn, chocolate, chocolate popcorn, apples and a bunch of random DVD’s.”

Yvette looked up from where she was lying on her front on her bed, going over her lines for the play. "Having the break from the social hurricane?" she asked, teasingly, her eyes glowing soft blue.

Dumping her hoard onto the nearest flat surface, Angel trotted over to the doorway and blew a raspberry at he roommate. "Shush chatty monkey!" she huffed before breaking out into giggles as she tossed herself at her bed. She bounced a few times before flipping over onto her stomach. "But, basically, yeah. You're so much better than any boy, so with everyone else doing their own thing, I think it'll just be an us night." She didn't want Julian to get tired of her presence and it was a good night for a quiet night in.

"I am glad that you are thinking so." Yvette closed her book and set it aside on the bedside cabinet. "What are the movies you are getting?" Nothing too romantic, she hoped. She was a little tired of romance.

"'My Super Ex-Girlfriend' because it's hilaaaaarious and a couple of movies with more explosions than sense but nothing too nasty. And some older comedies. Anything you want in particular?"

"The first one, please?" Yvette's experience of movies was rapidly-expanding, and her roommate knew her well enough what to avoid entirely. She scooped the snacks off the desk and made a pile in the middle of Angel's bed, since it had the best view of the screen. "So, are you and Julian the boyfriend and girlfriend now?" she asked, reaching for an apple as Angel set up the movie - Yvette's hands made handling DVDs difficult.

Angel flushed a little bit, ducking her head as she got the DVD player up and running. “Yeeeesss – maybe?” She blew a piece of hair out of her eyes before she kicked off her shoes to get comfortable on the bed. “He’s really awesome but we haven’t, you know, talked about it yet. I like the idea of dating, especially him, but I don’t know. And I think I’m okay with not knowing –“ She looked over at her friend and made a face. “Does that make sense or have I dropped into Angel speak again?”

"No, it is making the sense, sort of." Yvette nibbled at her apple meditatively for a moment. "When you are knowing... you will still be doing the things with me, yes? Even if I do not have the boyfriend also?"

At that, Angel tossed the remote on the bed and ignored the DVD menu in favor of scooting around on her bed to face Yvette. “Hey!” she said, looking surprised by the question. “Oh my god, of course I will! You’re, like, one of my best friends! It doesn’t matter if you’ve got a boyfriend or not, I’ll still totally hang out with you. I mean, Kyle hung out with me when I was single and he had a girlfriend.” She nodded, looking serious. “Sisters before misters and all that, right?”

Yvette ducked her head, feeling foolish. "I know it is being silly. It is just seeming that when people have the boyfriend or girlfriend, there are all these secret jokes and such. And I know I am not American and do not always understand, so I am seeming like the little girl."

“Well, I don’t see you like that. But hey, don’t feel bad about asking, okay? I mean, I’d rather ask and me be all reassuring than you not ask and worry. I mean, I’m not gonna lie and say that if Julian and I get tighter we won’t have ‘us’ stuff but that won’t take away from the stuff that you and I do.”

Yvette nodded, reassured. "And at least I am liking him. Even if he is being stealing my best friend." She winked at Angel to show she was joking. "Do you think one day there will be the boy for me? One who is not thinking I am the little sister?"

Angel stuck her tongue out at Yvette for the first remark but sobered up. “Of course you will. We’re getting in more boys now, so that’s a good sign. I think before, they were all ‘We’ve watched you girls grow up, no touchee!’ or something. Besides, a lot of them are old, you know? So now we’re getting in boys our age who haven’t been around, you’ll find someone who’ll like you! Besides, we’re getting old, too! I mean, we’re approaching twenty and that’s ancient, right? So you won’t be someone’s little sister forever, I promise.”

"I hope so." Yvette sighed. "I know it is seeming silly, but I was hoping that perhaps Kyle... But he has the girlfriend now." The last was said with a little snort. "It is seeming he is liking the pretty, silly girls any way."

“Kyle? Really? That’s … actually awesome.” Kyle was awesome, honestly, and she would probably always have a bit of a crush on him but the idea of Kyle and Yvette made something internal squee a bit. “But, yeah, I’m not sure how serious it is with Jan.” Angel grinned at her roommate. “Silly, huh?”

The Albanian girl screwed up her nose, the gesture an indication in and of itself of how relaxed she was with her friend. "Jan is, how you say? Flighty? She does not seem to be having the serious thoughts in her head and she is always saying how she is the RA and we can be talking to her but she is never doing anything that is making us trust her, yes? I mean, this is the person who is wanting to throw candy at the people who are hurt because they do not say on the journals they do not want her to." Yvette shook her head. "I do not know why the Professor is making her the RA - she is too silly to be the staff person, I am thinking. I wish Dani would be the RA again. She was being quiet, but I am trusting her not to be talking about the sex or her boyfriend's cute toes on the journals." There was, perhaps, a measure of sour grapes relating to the last. Yvette thought all of Kyle was cute and she'd entertained hope after the lunch in Japan that he might one day... Until Jan featured in things, at least.

“I miss Dani, too, but I don’t know if she’ll ever be the RA again,” Angel sighed. She hadn’t seen much of Dani, Garrison or Jay lately – she didn’t know if they wanted to be approached much and didn’t want to crowd or bug them. “I know it’s hard to sometimes get that Americans are … more open about this stuff? Though to be honest, I really don’t need to know about anyone’s sex life so when they go on about it, I pretty much close up my ears and go ‘I can’t hear you, ew ew ewwww’. I mean, I’m assuming the Professor has good reasons but to each his own, I guess.” She grinned. “It’s not like either of us get into much trouble; unless, you know, we’re busting up police stings by accident.” Her tone had turned wry but not harsh – they’d screwed up but she’d never regretted it.

"Or having the fights over the boys," Yvette pointed out with a similar tone. Gossip had spread pretty quickly about that incident.
At that, Angel flopped backwards and covered her face with her hands. "I'm never living that down!" she wailed. "It was only a little fight - I only kicked her a little bit in the shins and we only fell a little bit down the stairs!"

Yvette threw a handful of popcorn at her. "This is what you are getting for liking the boys. Falling down the stairs," she stated solemnly, before breaking into giggles. "They are the health hazard, yes?"

Shaking popcorn out of her hair, Angel rolled over on her side as she started to giggle as well. "They need signs on their backs!" she cackled. "Like those signs to warn people of danger because, yeah, they really are! Girls are more awesome, that's for sure, though the boys have their uses I guess."

"I am sure we can be finding something to be doing with them," Yvette replied, with a grin.
