At a rehearsal for the play, Catseye brings water to her fellow actors but they get an unpleasant surprise.

Catseye was in charge of bringing out the water bottles for the rest of her fellow actors- actually, she wasn't in charge persay, she just enjoyed bringing water to those in rehearsal. She didn't have a very large part and her work with Jean-Paul and Kyle and her other friends had put her in a good position to know her lines so that she didn't often work as hard as she could have during rehearsal time. She filled her arms and tail with water bottles from the supply room, wrinkling her nose at the smell of something in the room. Bounding around the stage, she began handing out the bottles to her friends, holding out the last one to Callie. "Water for PointyEarsGirl?"

Like Catseye, Callie's role was composed of only a small number of spoken lines. This was fine by her as really she was not partial to the limelight, and the fairies' songs were difficult enough. With dissonance and syncopated rhythms galore, Callie had her work more than cut out for her. So whenever she could, she would slink out to sit by herself and listen to the audio backings on her iPod, tapping out rhythms with her fingers and humming the notes softly. It was only when a bottle of water was thrust into her face that concentration broke and Callie found herself staring up at Catseye. "Thanks Catseye," she said as she paused the music and rose. It was useless, she had decided, to try and convince Catseye to call her by her proper name. So she just smiled, went along with it, and accepted the water bottle. It was easier that way. "You didn't have to, but thank you."

"Catseye does not want PointyEarsGirl's voice to be sore!" she told Callie, grinning broadly at the thanks. She sniffed at her hands, the smell from the supply room where she'd gotten the water bottles still lingering.

"Well that was very nice of you." Callie quickly unscrewed the top off the bottle and brought it to her lips. She was parched, and the water would certainly be a welcome relief. She closed her eyes and tipped the bottle up, the cool liquid flowing into her mouth. As soon as it hit her taste buds, Callie's eyes popped and liquid was spit out as quickly as possible, most of it ending up on Catseye.

"Ack. Augh. Ew."

She tried using the sleeve of her shirt to wipe the horrible taste off her tongue, but it was no use. The acidic shock was still there, a point very evident by the look of pure disgust on Callie's normally cheery countenance. "What was that?"

When the liquid splattered all over Catseye, she leapt up into the air in surprise and gave a shriek. "EwEwEwEw!" She started hopping around and flailing her hands, almost panicked about having the foul-smelling stuff all over her. "BadSmell! BadSmell!"

Her curiosity sparked, Callie held the bottle up to her face, and used her free hand to waft the vapors to her nose. It smelled familiar, and acidic, and... "It's vinegar," she exclaimed excitedly. "Catseye. It's just vinegar!"

"Smelly! BadSmell!" The vinegar was intense to her enhanced sense of smell, and felt like it was burning her nose. Ignoring the stares from the other actors rehearsing, she dashed off for the washrooms, where she splashed regular water all over her face from the sink, but the smell still lingered on her clothes, so she shifted into catform and climbed up into the sink, trying to wedge herself in under the running water. The cat didn't particularly mind being wet; it was better than dealing with the smell. And this way she hadn't had to strip naked in girlform to wash herself and chance someone finding her.

As Catseye rushed off to clean herself of the odorous liquid, Callie set to work wrangling up the remainder of the water bottles from her fellow classmates. Each one of them, she discovered, contained not water but the same harsh vinegar that had burned her mouth a few minutes prior. Gathering them all up in her arms, Callie trudged toward the girl's bathroom where she found the purple cat trying to wash the vinegar off of her skin. She silently began dumping the bottles down the drains of one of the sinks. "You going to be okay Cats?"

The cat let out a plaintive yowl and soaked herself in the sink some more. When Callie had dumped out the last bottle, Catseye jumped down from the sink and shifted back into a very dripping girlform. Because she'd soaked the collar, her tshirt and shorts were soaked as well. She turned off the tap and sniffed at her shirt. The smell was still there, but the water had diluted it to a degree that it wasn't painful to her nose. "Catseye is okay. How is PointyEarsGirl?" She shook herself like a dog, but it didn't do much good to dry her off.

"I'm fine. I have some gum in my bag to help get the taste of vinegar out of my mouth." She nodded, turned off the faucet, and pushed the button for the hand dryer. "Come on, let's dry you so you're not dripping everywhere and don't catch hypothermia, then we'll go see if we can see about finding some dry clothes." Pause. "I'm sorry for spitting on you."

"Catseye is not angry, PointyEarsGirl," Catseye assured her, moving towards the dryer. She tried to get underneath it, but it wasn't very effective on her six-foot tall frame. She shifted back into the catform, but the cat couldn't get close enough to feel the heat. With a frustrated noise she shifted into a human once more. "Maybe Catseye can borrow clothes and towels from the ExerciseBox?" she suggested. The school gym had showers and presumably towels, and was sure to have extra gym clothes in the laundry, she hoped. "Who put the SmellyWater in the bottles? All Catseye can smell is the SmellyWater."

"We can try. If not there's always the costume closet. Don't worry Catseye, we'll find you something to wear." Callie assured her with a smile. "I don't know who did it. It's highly suspect though. But no one was harmed, so we should probably focus on getting you dry." She gathered up the empty bottles to be recycled and headed to the door, using her back to push it open. "Ready?"

Nodding emphatically, Catseye held the door for Callie. "Catseye is going to find out who is playing tricks," she assured Callie, trying not to drip on the other girl.

"Well if anyone could it's you Miss Catseye."
