After her encounter with Scott, Catseye visits Jean-Paul for some reading time and gets a suggestion for her trip to Morocco.

Travel books under one arm and a bag of sandwich fixings in the other, Catseye knocked on Jean-Paul's door. "MisterPointyEarsBeaubier, can Catseye come in for reading?" she called out in her sweetest voice. "Catseye has pastrami and bread!"

"Resorting to bribery, are we?" Jean-Paul opened the door with a smile. "Well, if you're going to appeal to my stomach, I don't see where I have a choice in the matter. Come in. We are going to start on 'Ratha and Thistle-Chaser' this time, oui?"

"Not wee," Catseye shook her head. "If that is okay with MisterPointyEarsBeaubier? Catseye thought maybe MisterPointyEarsBeaubier could read to Catseye from one of these books?" She held out the stack of Morocco travel books for him to peruse.

Jean-Paul hefted the stack up to eye level, skimming the titles. "I am sure that will be no problem, but why the sudden interest?"

"SoftHands is taking Catseye and BigHairGirl verysoon," she answered, "and Catseye would like to know all about Morocco because it is far away and Catseye gets to go on a carwithwings to get there!"

"Oh, yes? That sounds as if it will be interesting. But how soon is very soon and are you going to have time to finish your schoolwork around it?" Jean-Paul's tone was curious, not lecturing. He didn't mind Nate taking his student, but there were details to be discussed. "Do not forget, you need to turn in a draft of your final paper by Spring Break."

"Catseye thinks it is later this week and only for three or four days," she answered, "Catseye can work on her paper... some time. There will be time before spring break when Catseye gets back?" It was more a suggestion than an answer, since she hadn't even begun thinking about the paper yet.

"So long as you keep up with your reading, there should be no issue." Jean-Paul headed for the couch with the books tucked under his arm. "Though I do have a suggestion to keep you in practice with your writing: you may wish to keep a travel journal."

The purple-haired girl flopped down next to him on the couch. "How does Catseye do that?" she asked, curious. "Is it like typing on Catseye's journal at the mansion?"

"Something like that," Jean-Paul said with a nod. "You would observe what you see and write it down as clearly as you can for those of us who will be staying here." He considered. "Or you can email it to me if you don't want to make it a public post." He doubted it would be an issue -- Catseye was anything but shy -- but the option should be there.

Frowning, she considered this. "Catseye is going to be working with SoftHands and BigHairGirl and also going out to see things so Catseye does not know if she will have a computer for lots of the time. Catseye is taking a notebook to write notes for SoftHands though and will type them later... can Catseye write them in paper?"

"Ah, a working trip." He didn't know why he'd have assumed otherwise, except that it was hard to think of Catseye in those terms. "I don't see why not."

Catseye grinned and cuddled up against Jean-Paul. "Catseye thinks this is a verygoodthing, MisterPointyEarsBeaubier," she said happily, and opened one of the books. "Look! Morocco had very many different kinds of birds that we do not have here!"
