After the run in with her new roommate, Callie decides it's best to try to find refuge elsewhere.

Callie glanced down at her arm. Good. The hives were gone, they had disappeared on their own during the play. Even so she didn't want to return to her room. There was something about having a squirrel in there that made her extremely jumpy. Squirrels were fine to watch scamper up trees during a picnic, but that was completely different from living with one. Callie didn't do animals. Either she was allergic to them, or they happened to bite her, so it was better that she avoid them all together. Tomorrow, she decided, tomorrow she would try to talk to Doreen about this. Maybe. She hadn't decided yet. What she had decided was that she wanted to stay with someone who didn't have a squirrel and who wouldn't make fun of her for being afraid of one.

"Mister Beaubier," she called out after knocking on his door. "Are you there?"

The door opened. "For me to be elsewhere would require me to have a life outside of this school," her teacher pointed out, smiling a little. "Ca va, Callie?"

The smile was not reciprocated. "Not well. Can I stay here tonight?"

Jean-Paul's brows rose slightly. He'd been with Johnny most of the afternoon, trying to help the morose boy settle in, and now Callie? "If you need to, I suppose. What has happened?"

"Thanks. My roommate's pet squirrel is kinda freaking me out. I just... don't want to sleep there tonight."

"She doesn't have a cage for it?" Jean-Paul glanced over at the multi-tier high-rise cage that Jenner and Nicodemus shared, then ushered Callie into the suite and closed the door. "You do not have to take the couch; I have this place to myself, so no one is going to complain if you take a spare room."

"No, it runs around and it was asleep in her sock drawer," explained Callie with a shudder as she stepped into the room. She would be better if there was a cage, she didn't mind her teacher's rats being in their apparatus. "And she says it doesn't bite, but it's a squirrel and you never know cause they're wild and they're dirty and... thank you again."

"It is not a problem." He really should have been trying to convince her that she should speak to her roommate before she turned in. But he was tired, Callie was upset, and it was very late to be telling new students that their beloved vermin were distressing. "Do you want tea?"

"Tea sounds lovely. Thank you Mister Beaubier."
