Earlier this afternoon, Nori hunts down one of her favorite people, seeing as he's around to be hunted down.

Finding someone in the mansion was not as hard as many people made it out to be. All you really had to do was first accept that all the telepaths knew (or could know) who was where basically all the time, and then find one with a sufficiently low moral limit to be willing to tell people what they knew. Which meant paying the Stepford's occasionally exorbitant prices when they were feeling vindictive, but for once the one Nori had found had just shrugged and told her what she wanted to know, so now Noriko was standing outside the guest room Kevin had snagged for himself, knocking. Repeatedly. And at speed.

Kevin had been in the middle of getting dressed, hair still damp and even dripping a bit from his shower. The knocking, though, was frantic enough that it was possible something was wrong. Of course, who would be looking for him if anything was wrong in this place? Maybe a work-in-progress had fallen over and attacked someone in the metal shop. Oh, that could be messy. As it was, when he opened the door he was still pulling a tank top on because answering the door in socks, jeans and gloves was just a little awkward. His eyes went wide when he saw who was on the other side. "Somethin' burnin' down?"

"Hi!" Nori said, grinning brightly. "Eh... Nori is no know if fire is. Nori is come Kevin, is together we go KFC?" The mood of the moment was definitely not 'sullen'.

He blinked a few times, decided the chipper attitude was real and not just a ploy and then grinned. "Sure. Just lemme put more clothes on first, 'kay?"

"Hai hai," Nori agreed, stepping inside as he moved back and leaning against the wall by the door. "How is Kevin?" she asked. "Is California interesting?"

"Ah'm good," he told her before pulling a long sleeved shirt over his head. "California's good. Sunny," which was obvious from the tan he had that extended all the way up his arms, indicative of the fact that Kevin clearly didn't cover up as much in California as he tended to here in New York. "And warm. Ah missed bein' in warmer weather. How're you? Up to no good?"

"Is always," Nori said with a grin, "but Nori is try be more not-bad." She shrugged, and the gesture was almost natural, a sign of how much she'd changed since coming to the States. "Maybe am not good at not-bad..."

"Ah'd be a little disappointed if you got good at not bein' bad, Nori," Kevin told her with a grin and pulled a tee shirt on over the other shirt he'd just gotten on as well. Snatching a jacket, Kevin nodded toward the door. "C'mon. An' why you tryin' to not be bad anyway?"

"Eh..." And Nori blushed suddenly, looking down at the ground. "Nori was do... big stupid. Very fuck up. In very trouble." She fidgeted at the ends of the sleeves of her own jacket, not meeting Kevin's eyes.

"Ooooh." He wasn't actually sure what she'd done but she seemed to feel bad about it all the same. Instead of press her about it, which would likely lead to frustration when it got to a point where she could no longer communicate in a language they both knew, Kevin put an arm around her shoulders and guided her out into the hall with him. "Ah get that. You been good, though? Only little trouble an' not big trouble?"

"Un!" Nori said with an emphatic nod. "Nori is good, and is study hard and try stupid New Mutants practice and not say it is stupid." She looked up again at last, and there was a hint of a mischievous smile. "So Nori and Kevin is go KFC."

"Why'm Ah thinkin' this is going to get me into some kinda," he stopped short of saying trouble. "Mischief. Definitely upta no good." But he grinned at her anyway and headed down the hall to the stairs. "Yeah, Norti and Kevin is go KFC," he told her.

"Good," she said, again with the firm nod and, if anything, her smile got brighter. "Nori is was very... eh..." she had totally looked up this word and she hadn't forgotten it she really hadn't, cause it was a girl word and it was something girls said and... "Miss! Was very miss Kevin."

She had that note of pride in her voice that Kevin had come with time to attribute to Nori having remembered a new word she never used. It made him grin a bit like a proud older brother. "Yeah, Ah missed you, too. A lot." Though he didn't miss her randomly going crazy. Kevin could always go without that.
