Logan stops in to check on Scott the day after the Danger Room goes boom.

Logan knocked out Scott's door. Jeannie was out - the nose told him that - and it seemed to him like a good time to check up on Scott, see how the knee was doing. By the looks of the injury he'd ballpark Scott as on the injured reserve for maybe a few months. Reconstruction then therapy. Hard thing for anyone to go through - not that he'd know. Sure, he'd blown out his knees before, but given maybe an hour or so and they were as good as new.

Scott didn't have that luxury.

He'd been up trying to get around the suite on crutches this afternoon, which hadn't worked all that well; he was pretty bruised, body armor or no body armor, and he'd retreated to the couch again after a while. Jean had insisted he take some painkillers before she'd stepped out to do whatever she needed to do down in the infirmary, and he hadn't had the energy to argue with her. His knee was swollen and all kinds of appalling colors today.

"Come in," Scott called a bit muzzily at the knock.

Logan opened the door and let himself in, closing the door behind him. "Hey." he said by way of a greeting. "How's the knee?" he asked. Out of deference to Jeannie's preference, he hadn't lit up before walking in. He almost wished he had - Scott smelled of chemical painkillers in addition to all his other usual smells.

"You haven't figured out how to temporarily loan out your healing factor, have you?" Scott asked, considering the question. "Because that would be really nice."

For some reason that question hit Logan in a very sore place. "Don't even ask." he snapped out in response. Then he paused and took a deep breath. "Sorry." he said with a wave of his hand. "You don't want it. Trust me." he said. "That looks really nasty." he said, peering at the offending joint. "Surgery?" he asked.

"Yeah, Jean's arranging it." Scott waved a hand. "Knew it was coming, if this happened again. I've put it out twice before." He made his eye focus on Logan. "Lil all right?"

"She's a trooper. She'll be fine." he said dismissively. "No permanent damage, according to the docs." he added. "Got a question." he said. "Isn't it one of your rules that group runs need a spotter in the booth?" he asked.

"Yes, which means I broke my own rule, which means I get to not bitch too loudly about the knee, because breaking my own rule makes me an idiot. I've had this chat with a few people already, Logan. And Jean reiterated it this morning just in case the concussion caused it to slip my mind."

Logan thought about that for a moment. "Gonna make it a little hard to come down on people who like their runs a little rough." he pointed out.

Scott snorted. "Like hell it will. All I have to do is point to myself and say 'Don't be an idiot like me'. I'm not above using myself as an object lesson."

"Yeah." he said with a snort of amusement. "I'd offer you a beer, but I doubt it'd go well with whatever you're on." he said. "Take care of yourself, Slim." he said with a nod.
