Catseye and Fred: Quiet Time Is Now.
May. 20th, 2009 03:57 am Fred and Catseye share a moment in time...and a couch.
After a morning of chores followed by an early afternoon of studying, Fred was wiped. He'd gotten so used to a low impact lifestyle that the day-to-day of Xaviers often exhausted him. So, he did what any self-respecting teenager did in such a situation: he took a nap.
Fred laid on his back, sprawled across one of the larger couches in the Mansion, eyes closed. He snored lightly as he inhaled and exhaled.
Finished her homework for the day and not scheduled at Elpis, the purple catgirl was on the prowl for napping company, preferably Angel or Lil or Jean-Paul or Fred. She let out an excited 'mrrt!' when she spotted Fred's prone form and bounded over to him. "Mrrrrrrrrrrrrt?" she asked, waiting to be invited up.
Fred smacked his lips a few times, and turned his head toward the purple cat. The mewls of the mutated girl hadn't phased Fred's obviously deep sleep. After he adjusted himself a bit more, he was still again, still snoring.
Catseye pawed at Fred's arm, attempting to elicit some response from him. She cocked her head and mewed again, then padded over to his leg and did the same thing.
Fred Dukes could sleep through a hailstorm on the roof, so Catseye's considerate taps did little to sway the slumbering lumberer. He did not respond in the slightest to the touches of the tiny purple mutant. He simply continued to sleep deeply.
Cocking her head in the other direction, Catseye sat down on the floor at a spot equidistant between Fred's legs and arms, in the belly area, and pondered. She stretched up on her haunches, front legs on the edge of the couch cushions. His belly looked so warm and inviting, and so did the spot just under his chin. One paw held onto the couch cushion, the other gently poked his stomach as she tried to wake him once again.
Fred shifted slightly as his stomach was poked, but he seemed pretty resolute into continuing to nap.
Catseye leapt onto Fred's stomach and stared down at his face to see if he would protest.
"Mrmrmmrattlesnakehmaammrrrmm..." Fred grumbled when the small cat lept onto his stomach. His eyes peeked a little up at the purple blob on him, but Fred didn't seem to mind one way or the other. He mumbled something about sand, and was again asleep in seconds.
"Mrrt?" RoundBoy should be named SillyDreamsBoy, the catgirl thought to herself, amused. She kneaded her two front paws, sans-claws, into Fred's belly, turned around once, and curled up into a ball, purring contentedly.
