After their training session, Noriko and Jean-Paul cool down and chat.
Whether she was learning to better pace her charge or if all of this running was just building a natural endurance, Jean-Paul had noted that his training sessions with Noriko were getting fractionally longer before she wore herself out. So far as he was concerned that was a good thing. However, it did mean that they were going to have to find a sturdier practice area. The stretch of grass they'd been using couldn't have been more thoroughly torn and trampled if wild horses had stampeded across it.
"Hm. I do not think I am going to be on Kyle's list of favorite people any time soon."
Nori grinned at that, flopping down onto the torn up ground, not so much winded as simply drained, although already she could feel her body reaching out for nearby sources of power - something she wouldn't even have noticed a year ago. "Pfeh, Kyle. Is no problem."
"Kyle has access to all the school's power tools." Jean-Paul considered, then shrugged and flopped down beside her. "But I will worry about that later."
If anything, Nori's grin got wider and cheekier. "Nori has access all the school's power. Nori is protect hashiru-no-sensei."
Jean-Paul laughed at that. "I think I had better take you up on the offer. We can write it off as more training, and not me hiding behind one of my students."
"Un. Train is very important." Noriko's firm nod and 'serious' face were a sign of just how far she'd come over the past two years; despite the fact that they were joking about, she actually meant that. "Also, teacher is very important for train. So. Is protect."
Jean-Paul propped himself up on one elbow, trying not to be too touched. There was no reason to ruin the mood by going soppy. But still...
"~Jean-Paul teacher is much proud of Nori. Nori very good of student who make the time joyful.~" Jean-Paul had no doubt that Quebecois-accented Japanese was laughable in its own right, never mind his own inexperience with the language, but it seemed suiting to try after she'd put in so much effort herself.
Nori did laugh, but she also applauded briefly before launching herself at him in a quick hug, her energy drained down enough that it was less than a quick fuzz along his skin, not even enough to count as a proper spark.
"See, this is why I like you." Jean-Paul hugged her back. "Shiro doesn't applaud, he just looks like I hurt his ears. And," he teased, "I definitely get no hugs from him."
"Hmph." Noriko sat back, frowning at him, although there was a definite lack of heat behind the frown - all worn out from running it was unlikely she'd had one of her mercurial mood swings. "Shiro is probably want hug sensei. Is New York water - all boys gay..."
Jean-Paul started to protest...then reconsidered and began counting off on his fingers. "Hrm. Well...Shiro is not anyway. He is dating a girl named Kali, and before that, he was pining for Clarice." Jean-Paul clasped a hand dramatically over his heart for a moment. "So if he wants to hug me, it is a sign that the Stepford girls are messing with his brain."
"No," Nori said, shaking her head firmly. "Shiro was date Summers-sensei no brother. Eh... Alex-san."
"That does not mean that he is gay." There had been complications with that situation as well, but that was Shiro's business. "Sometimes boys are attracted to other boys or just one boy and it does not last. At the very least, he is bisexual, but I think he is straight." It occurred to Jean-Paul that it was a bit odd that he was being so insistent on that front. "And that is strange of me to say..."
"Nori is not think so..." Although she'd have been hard pressed to provide any other sort of evidence, aside from her prevailing belief that all of the boys in the mansion were gay except Julio. And probably Julian, actually. But maybe the water just hadn't gotten to him yet. Although it would take a lot of gay-water to make Julian stop chasing girls. "Mou... someone is should not let Julian drink the water. Or Fred," she added grudgingly after a second.
