Face The Blood: Crystal and Inez
Jun. 10th, 2009 08:02 amGetting settled at the Red-X camp puts two unlikely tentmates together.
There were to be no hotels here, and that was fine with Crystal. As she had spent the past few months traveling with Laurie, the older blonde was considering this to be part of their trip around the world, yet she was well aware of the difference between this "stop" and all of the others that had already visited or were yet to visit. This was one of the rare planned Red X outings, one where help was needed but it was not due to something that had recently happened. There was no new state of emergency here; this was a problem that, unfortunately, had been going on for a quite a while.
Crystal carried the two small bags she had brought with her across the aid camp that had been set up here, heading for the tent where she had been told she would be sleeping for the next week. She had packed lightly, as she usually did. The Attilani royal wasn't planning on bringing any of these items with her when she left the country.
Inez stretched out on her cot, headphones on as she air-drummed along with the music. She saw the shift in the light from outside before she could see who was coming into the tent, and sat up with a flurry of random drumming then slid the headphones off, the music barely audible. When she saw who it was in the tent, though, she did a double take.
"Oh, um, Miss Crystal! Your High... I mean, Crystal! Hi! You're, um..." She flailed her hands around for a moment before shrugging and looking completely flustered. "You're staying in here?" she asked.
Crystal offered Inez a smile and nodded, sitting on the remaining cot, placing her bags next to her. "Yes, it appears that we are to be tentmates. I hope that you do not mind."
Inez blinked, then gestured out to one of the other tents. "I thought you'd be with your, y'know... boyfriend?"
Crystal shook her head. "Separate tents for males and females for students, the same applies to me and to Forge. Besides, Forge does not require much sleep; I would not be surprised to find out that he decided to stay up all night continuing to work."
Inez giggled. "Bummer, totally. So I'm totally hyped for this. I've never been to a really foreign country before. Like, y'know, Europe. Of course you've been all over, right?"
Crystal nodded once. "Yes, and I had even done some traveling to various countries prior to taking part in the Laurie Collins World Tour 2009." Again, she smiled. "Of course, I am European, and have spent most of my life on Attilan. While I was a student at Xavier's, I often took weekend trips to visit different parts of the US. To me, that was visiting a foreign country."
"Oh," Inez said, remembering that to Crystal, living at the mansion was 'staying abroad'. "Yeah, that makes sense. So, um... grab a cot, welcome to the luxurious Tent Hotel. If you snore, I'm gonna whack you with a pillow, Princess or not," she insisted, but with a smile.
"Do not worry," Crystal assured Inez. "This princess does not snore. It is not ladylike to do so, of course, and had I ever snored, I would have sought a solution to cease the action. I assume, then, that you also do not snore, or did you just offer me a solution as to what to do when you fall asleep tonight?"
Inez placed a hand to her chest, mock-offended. "Moi?", she gasped. "Perish the thought. I am a dainty flower of young womanhood."
"Oh, and the same does not hold true for me?" Crystal pretended to be hurt. "You did bring up the topic of snoring in regards to me before I asked the same question of you, did you not? Oh well, I shall forgive you, but if it turns out that you do snore, your cot may somehow find its way lifted up into the air."
The taller blonde giggled and leaned back on her cot. "Deal. This might turn out to be a pretty fun trip after all."
