Helping with rebuilding, Yvette and Angel indulge in some girl talk.

"So, what does this remind you of?" Angel asked as she set down the armful of boards she had been carrying. She made sure to put them in the unchopped pile next to Yvette, so she wouldn't get the two piles confused. With a groan, she stretched her back and sighed as several things popped. "Well, if you put us in a different place, anyway, and think of this as a larger scale of what we did."

Yvette smiled, pausing in her work of planing and shaping the boards, shaking out her long hands. "And without the tree, yes?" she suggested, amused. "Or John and Laurie with the bickering, yes?"

At that, Angel barked out a laugh. "Oh man, they were worse than anything that year," she agreed, shoving her hair out of her face and back into her pony tail. "You'd totally think John was our age or something, right?"

"He is the boy," Yvette replied almost primly, but her eyes glowing with mischief. "And the boys are not so mature as the girls, yes? So in a way, John is our age, especially since we are so very much more grown up."

“Most of the time, anyway,” Angel replied, a bit sheepishly. She was still trying to avoid Julian but she wasn't being the nicest or easiest person, either. She had the right, but, still. “But it’s fun watching the boys, even if they do act like doofuses from time to time.”

"Well, being immature does not make them any the less nice to look at," Yvette agreed with a grin of her own. "So, you and Julian, how are you coping?"

Angel groaned and kicked at the ground at her feet. "I don't know, Yvette. I got what I wanted and he hasn't talked to me for a while. And then I get sad and then I get angry and never want to see him again. Or set his shorts on fire." Apparently her reactions to boys had only left the playground in order to gain powers.

"Perhaps it is the good thing he is not coming here. You can have the space, yes? To be thinking?" At least Angel wasn't crying all the time - seeing her roommate so sad had made Yvette rather cranky at Julian.

It was funny - people who really didn't know Yvette didn't know what a firecracker she could be. Angel grinned a little as she thought of all her roommate had done for her since Julian had decided that ass hattery was in fashion. "Exactly," she agreed, cracking her knuckles. "A world away should give me the space I need. If not, well, I guess there's always space space, you know?"

Yvette grinned. “You mean we can be putting him into the rocket and sending him to the moon?” she asked innocently. “I am sure we can be managing that, especially if he is mean to you again. Kyle will be helping, I am thinking.”

"...you're completely fantastic, you know that?" Angel said between sputtered giggles at the very mental image. "I can just imagine Kyle actually building something - getting Forge to help. Oh god." She made flappy hands at Yvette for a moment before bending over and trying to get her breath back.

“How you say? My work here is being done?” Yvette replied, with her own giggle. “It is what the best friend is being for, yes?”
