Julian blows up his laptop and goes to the Medlab for help and ends up finding help in the form of one of his fellow New Mutants.
((OOC: Backdated to yesterday afternoon.))
A sudden electrical charge had come on him so suddenly, that Julian hadn't even realized what was happening. In a matter of seconds, his computer was destroyed, tatters of electrical circuits and plastic were scattered around the room. That had been the final straw that sent him down to the medlab in hopes of help. Of course, he hadn't counted on the doors malfunctioning and getting stuck open as he passed through the metal frame. "Doctor Grey-Summers?! I need help!"
The first thing on her mind was that he’d come to get an answer about going to see Harry Potter and Jean wasn’t looking forward to telling him that it wasn’t wise, but that panicked tone didn’t seem right for such a simple question. It was definitely odd to no longer be able to feel Julian’s mind as anything other than a painful buzz. “Julian, come in. What’s wrong?”
Small jolts of electricity jumping between himself and nearby equipment, Julian carefully made his way toward her. He hadn't noticed that his hand had some slight burns on it, likely from when the computer exploded. "There...I can't..." he held up his hand.
Jean winced slightly to see the power jumping towards their sensitive medical equipment and simply had to hope that the protections they had built in would hold. “Deep, calming breaths,” she said, waving him towards one of the smaller back rooms where there would be less chance of incidental damage. “You’ve got to keep calm.” And if something was going wrong Jean was going to have to find some way to conduct a proper examination without electrocuting herself.

There was no chance of him calming down now that the phantom pains from the surface burns had started to set in. Slowly, carefully, taking deep medatative breaths- like Nathan had taught him- Julian followed the doctor's directions and headed into the exam room. "I was sitting at my desk, the laptop just...blew up!"
Truthfully Jean wasn't as surprised as she possibly ought to be - things had been going too well to last. "Were Amelia and I not clear enough when we told you to stay away from electronics?" she asked. They'd spent a fair amount of time with all of the affected going over the vagaries of their new powers, but she knew that Julian and the others were overwhelmed. She followed him into the exam room and then immediately had to take a step back as another spark arced away from him.
"Yeah, I know, but what else was I supposed to..." he winced as one of the bolts hit the metal under the table's padding leaving a scorch mark. "I'm sorry, please, just help me."
Jean wasn't sure if it was a stroke of genius or pure madness but the idea which popped into her head might just work, at least as a stopgap. She grabbed a pair of rubber gloves as one of the specialty syringes they'd built floated in, lacking the gleam of hard metal. "I have an idea, Julian, but right now we need to get you to calm down. Your body's biochemical reactions need to be slowed. I'm going to give you a mild sedative, ok?"
A sudden jab in his neck was nothing in his panicked state. After a moment the world started to blur, then fade as he became very sleepy. It was a good kind of tired and Julian quickly gave into it, falling to the floor as things went dark.
***A Quick Nap Later***
There was someone speaking in Japanese...a woman...and another speaking English. Slowly, Julian opened his eyes, looking up at Nori and Jean talking to each other at the foot of the hospital bed he was inhabiting.
Noriko's posture was tense as she listened to Jean, but for once she wasn't snarking back at the redheaded doctor and when Jean's eyes flickered over towards the bed at Julian's faint groan even that tenseness vanished and the girl was at his side so fast she kicked up a breeze.
"I'll be right outside," Jean said, but Nori just sort of nodded without looking back as the doctor slipped out into the main room.
"Is ok, Julian," Nori said. "Bit..." She cut off her normal name for Jean and sighed. "Dr. Grey is think Nori can help. Julian is have too many energy?"
He nodded at Nori and then looked down at his bandaged hand. Whatever was under it stung viciously, "Ow." Keller let his head fall back on the pillow and groaned, "Too much energy? I'm like a walking tesla-coil."
"Hai," Nori replied with a nod. "And Nori is walking battery. Can drain energy off, then we go to quarry, Julian must learn control, practice. Nori can teach."
A slight hint of blush spread into his cheeks, "You're going to teach me?" That sort of nixed the midnight show, "Okay, but...I need to find Fred first. Let him know what's going on. Is," he held up his bandaged hand, "this going to be a problem?"
Noriko completely ignored the blush and the uncertainty. Julian seemed to have stumbled into one of the few situations in which she had any tact at all. "No, is no problem. And no, first is this...." She set a hand against the bare skin of his arm, her own minor static effect completely unnoticeable compared to the power leaking off of him. Which suddenly seemed to be escaping at a much greater rate, the electric charge being sucked out of him as she concentrated her absorption.
The drugs seemed to be taking effect again, "Whoa." The place she'd put her hand touched was tingling and he was starting to feel quite tired again. It was a little like being drunk, without the fun of drinking as she drained the ambient energy off of him.
"Power is build up again," she told him, stepping back after a moment before she took so much he might pass out, knowing just how draining being uncharged could be. "But have time before Julian is start leak everywhere again. Can go see Fred, but then you learn how to not blow up toaster."
