After her night with Lex, Morgan comes (sans clothing) to Adrienne's suite to invite her for breakfast. Lex is discussed.

The problem with not actually living at the mansion anymore was that if you woke up early like Morgan did and you had a tendency to do things like go running, swimming or generally working out you no longer had a change of clothes within easy access. The perk to having mates still living there meant you occasionally left clothes there by accident so while she had been sort of sweaty and gross after her run all was not lost. There were showers down in the locker rooms and all she had to do was get her spare clothes from Adrienne who was on her list of people to see anyway. Granted, sweaty clothes were gross to put on after you'd showered so Morgan had her clothes rolled up under an arm, was wrapped in a towel and even her hair was hanging loose. Now there was a way to show up at someone's door, right? She knocked lightly on the suite's door not necessarily wanting to wake up anyone who was likely a asleep but she was sure Adrienne was up at this hour.

The psychometrist left the door for Jeanne-Marie to answer, just because she could, but her roommate had been at her brother's so often lately it occurred to Adrienne after a few moments that she might be alone in the suite, so she reluctantly climbed out of bed, setting her computer aside and throwing a red silk robe over the panties and tshirt she'd been sleeping in, in case her visitor was a student. An eyebrow quirked up when she opened the door to Morgan. "Yum!" she smirked amiably. "I'm glad I didn't leave the door for Jeanne-Marie to answer." She stepped aside to let Morgan in, grinning. She definitely didn't miss the sexual tension that had plagued her around the blue woman until recently. "Of course, I'm beginning to believe that Jeanne-Marie is a staunch Catholic and uncomfortable around naked women, so you may have embarrassed her to death."

Morgan shrugged and placed a playful, yet entirely platonic kiss on Adrienne's cheek as she sauntered into the suite with a pronounced sashay. "I'm pretty much okay with that. Catholics should always be fucked with." This coming from a recovering Catholic, too. "Hey, can I grab my clothes I left here? Or some of them, anyway. Just how much of my clothing have I accidentally stockpiled here anyway?" It was amazing how a little sex managed to clear the tension from a friendship. And entirely strange. Morgan was trying not to think about that too much. "Also, you wanna go grab breakfast?"
"Yes, they should; yes, you can; more than you can probably afford to give up since you deflect all my attempts to take you clothes shopping; and... yes, I do," Adrienne laughed. "So do I get a side of gossip with my breakfast?" she inquired, leading Morgan into her room to fetch some things for her. "Do I get to find out why you spent the night at the mansion or more importantly, who you spent it with?" She waggled her eyebrows at the blue woman playfully.

Morgan shrugged and flipped her hair over her shoulder and out of her way. "Sure, I can give you gossip, but it's not that good." She trailed after her friend and flopped down on the bed while she waited for Adrienne to dig up her clothes from whatever corner they'd been stuffed in. "I came to see Nate since he went and got his brain scrambled again. 'Cause you know me, fun, well wishes and torment!" Her voice was bright and cheerful as she said that. "Then I was gonna do the rounds, you know, see you and Peaches and maybe the Canadians but I passed by Lex's suite first so I went to say hi. He seemed to be having a shit night, something about pissing everyone off with bad phrasing and finding out your mate the bipolar blonde's married. So I hung out, got promised a massage and a bed since I couldn't drive back home after any sort of liquor and that's kinda it."

Adrienne wrinkled her nose as she opened a drawer of her armoire where Morgan's clothing had their own space. "You're right," she muttered, "it's not that good. I dunno about Lex. How can I tell he was a career soldier?" He hadn't made a very good first impression on her, claiming to be charming and then seeming immature when she called him out for his actions on the journals. "He obviously spent his formative years taking orders and not having to think for himself, having everything provided by his COs, and then when he gets out he's all about expressing himself and thinking for himself and getting what he wants, right now, and it all comes off as extremely naive, like his response to the Lil thing. And she is not my mate." Well, Adrienne supposed she was, but when it came to the topic of Lil's marriage, Adrienne didn't agree with Lil's actions and preferred not to be considered to support them.

She gave a shrug and went back on topic- she didn't dislike Lex, just felt a little sorry for him. "He's willing enough to take advice though, and he knows how to apologize, so I think he has decent guy potential," she approved, handing Morgan some clothes from the Morgan drawer and sneaking in a shirt of her own into the pile. "But I feel the need to warn you as your best friend: needy guys are a pain in the ass." Not wanting to get into one of her habitual momentous rows with Morgan, however, Adrienne brightened and laughed the whole thing off. "But, since it was just a massage and a bed, I say go you. Men should always be willing to provide these things to a pretty girl, and exploited heartily for it, I think. And yeah, poor Nathan, getting his brain scrambled again huh?"

An eyebrow arched up at her friend as Morgan started to pull clothing on without shame. Nudity, whatever, it was only Adrienne. "Um, you realize I'm not after him, right? I know I've got a habit for pining for guys who're pining for other women and all, cupcake, but I've moved on from that phase." At least she hoped she had because that whole crush on Garrison thing had been really sort of inconvenient while it had been going on. "Lex is a decent enough guy. At least he has been every time I've seen him. Of course, I suspect he's a little scared of me for some reason." Really, that little question session had been so tame. Maybe it was the speeding on the bike. Poor, delicate boys. "Aye, but Nate got scrambled pretty well. He'll recover. He always does."

"Well, I wasn't entirely sure you weren't, honestly," Adrienne grinned. "You were insane enough to date Sam Guthrie, after all. I wasn't sure if you'd recovered from that insanity of the needy men phase in addition to the 'pining for other women' phase. Glad to know you have," she nodded, shedding her sleepwear and getting dressed herself. "Scared of you? Well, you are a terrible and imposing figure." She smiled wanly and nodded when Morgan brought up Nate. "Yeah, he always does. You think that's why his wife still lets him out of the house? If I was her I think I'd be tempted to lock him in permanently so he doesn't get scrambled anymore."

Morgan swept a dismissive hand through the air. "Whatever, Sam wasn't needy and the only women I pine after are you and Amanda," though the latter half of that statement had an air of playfulness. She knew people hadn't understood the attraction to the Guthrie man while they were together and since he had snapped and clearly gone off the deep end for no apparent reason when she broke up with him she was sure people understood it even less. What no one seemed to grasp was the fact that it had nothing to do with Sam being needy, innocent, naive or whatever other term they wanted to paint him with. She'd broken up with him simply because he hadn't been the right sort of fit, after all. Of course and then he'd gone off the deep end and Morgan did not need to go after crazy.

The towel ended up folded up neatly once Morgan was dressed and she pulled her damp hair back into a braid as she waited for Adrienne to finish dressing. "One day I'm sure Moira will try. Lock him up in Muir on permanent babysitter duty, only with Rachel being his babysitter rather than the other way around. Aye, but he'd gotta stop doing shite like that," she said with a touch of worry in her voice. "Eventually people don't recover, y'know?" Shaking the thought from her head, red eyes fixed back onto Adrienne. "C'mon, foxy, I gotta show you off before I hop a plane."

"Maybe he wasn't needy before he started going out with you," Adrienne pointed out lightly, "but after you ended things he definitely launched himself into the 'needy' category in my books. Or crazy." She shrugged. "Same difference." She took Morgan's arm in her own and led the way downstairs. "Yeah, I mean I wouldn't want to say I worry about Nate," she did, just not quite as much as she worried about Garrison or Morgan or Amanda, "but I think you're right, and I don't want to see the day when he gets to that 'eventually.'" Maybe one of these days he would learn not to get his brains scrambled. "Oooo, plane? I hope it's a fun Trenchcoat mission in which there will be a bad guy finger for me?"

Morgan snorted. "I'll do my best on the finger front, cupcake." Then she kissed the brunette's cheek. She was never going to fucking shut up about that until Morgan actually brought her a finger, was she?
