Log: Johnny and Lil
Sep. 8th, 2009 09:02 amJohnny gets his birthday surprise.
Johnny read over the email with a simultaneous sense happiness and faint disappointment. The fact that she was thinking of him made the boy smile and blush with a sort of sheepish pride that made him glad Victor wasn't in the room, but...it would have been nice to actually see her. Whatever his teacher and his roommate had planned, Lil's presence could have only made it better. But he'd get to see her soon. As soon as all their schedules allowed. He exhaled softly and nodded to himself in silent reassurance and continued reading.
I hope the gift that should be outside your door right now makes up for it a bit. He blinked and read over the words again before rising thoughtlessly from his seat and moving to his bedroom door.
The 'gift' - all six-foot-four-inches of it - was leaning against the doorjam, dressed in a pair of jeans and a blue babydoll t-shirt that proclaimed her to be 'cleverly disguised as an adult' when he finally surfaced. "Took you long enough," Lil laughed and smiled brightly at the white-haired teen. "You think we got all day to wait around for you when there's about a hundred things planned?"
The boy's face lit up almost immediately, his shock quickly overcome by elation. "Lil!" He wasted no time in moving to hug her, slim arms hooking tightly around her waist. Embarrassment would catch up in a few moments, but for now he was just glad to see his friend back in the same country, let alone right outside his bedroom door.
His enthusiasm managed to force her back a step or two and the giantess' amused laughed echoed through the hallway as she hugged him back. "You really thought I wasn't gonna come back for your sixteenth birthday? Hell, kid." One hand ruffled his hair affectionately though Lil was careful not to catch her ring in it. "I guess I gotta stop calling you that, huh? Big man and all now."
Johnny maintained his position for a long moment, coaxed into staying still as he felt her hand tousling his hair. The ring made no difference and didn't even catch the boy's notice. Her hand went motionless against his unkempt hair and he looked up at her, gradually releasing his hold and smiling wide. "You've been busy...I didn't think..." Her last sentence struck him and he bobbed his head, wishing the comment was more than just a joke, but dwelling on it only very briefly. There were more important things going on today.
"Are you going to come with us? With Vic and Mr. Beaubier and me?" he asked, hopeful.
"Damn straight, I am," she replied, giving his shoulder an affection squeeze. "I ain't gonna miss a minute of it. That is, if you don't mind me tagging along. I suppose I could always stay here and wait for you boys to have your fun then come crawling back to the mansion, looking for food." Lil shot him a playful wink and shoved her hands into the pockets of her jeans complete with little shrug in a posture of completely feigned helplessness. It was good to be back, even if it were for a few days and the Canadian was determined to have as good of a time as she could while making it a memorable birthday for the teen in front of her.
The boy grinned at her obvious teasing and blushed just a little as her hand situated itself upon his shoulder. "We want you to come! Definitely!" he reassured her unnecessarily and his tone softened before he added, sincerely, "...I want you to come. I'm really glad you're here." It was just as unnecessary, if not more so. It was all plain upon his face.
Lil offered him another dazzling smile. "I'm really glad I'm here, too, Johnny." For many reasons, the least of which it provided the giantess with some distraction before having to return home to the mess her life was slowly becoming. Her fingers moved from his shoulder to the back of his neck, tugging at his hair as she pushed him toward the direction of Jean-Paul's suite. "Now, come on. Speedy's got breakfast waiting for us and I'm starving."
