Jane, Cammie - Tuesday afternoon
Sep. 8th, 2009 03:42 pmJane attempts to drag Cammie out into the sun.
"Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaammie. Oh, Caaaaaaaaaaammmieeeee..." Jane leaned precariously in her poor, beleaguered roommate's doorway. "Come out and play. You can't stay in here forever!"
Cammie had returned to her room after getting her boyfriend's ring back from Adrienne, "I was already out for a little bit. I'm not going out again," fifteen minutes was more than enough in her book.
Jane rolled her eyes. "Why not? It's super pretty out, and you know it's going to start snowing, like, next week. You should come out and have a burger with me. And maybe help me chase down down some folks with a supersoaker? It'll be fun!"
"It won't start snowing next week," Cammie said, "I'll leave the burgers to everyone who can taste them," she said, playing with the ring, "What's with the supersoakers, anyway?"
"It might!" Jane insisted. She'd heard all sorts of crazy stories about early snowfall in New York, although mostly up north a bit, and then when Bobby had been around, well... "Supersoakers are awesome! So long as there aren't any water mutants around, then they're not so much, but when there aren't? You can totally drench someone in under 5 seconds and escape. Plus you can add food coloring and stuff to the water but not glitter because that will totally stop the whole thing up." Jane gave Cammie her most innocent look. "Not that I would ever do that ."
"I haven't used one of them since I was a kid," she said with a laugh.
Jane grinned, quite pleased with herself for making Cammie giggle. (And that totally counted as a giggle!) "Then it's been way too long. I mean there are oodles of starchy people down there you need to get cooled off! Like Mr. Haller, maybe. Just don't go after Julio." she added with a slight grumble. "He fights dirty and hits everything."
"Well, I fight dirty too," Cammie pointed out. And no, it wasn't a giggle, but she wasn't a mind reader so she didn't know or care, "If you want to win, you have to fight dirty."
"Then you should be an EXCELLENT addition to the war!" Jane hopped across the room, and perched in the desk. "I have an extra gun if you want to play? We might even get a jump on him if we hurry."
"There's a war going on?" Cammie asked, not caring that Jane was on her desk, she had stopped caring about that, "A war. With squirt guns."
"Um, yeah? It's like only the most important one in Westchester on a sunny day like today? And y'know, in Westchester ever in general." Jane would have thought this was obvious. "C'mon, I need someone ruthless on my team. The guys have a tendency to gang up, and I can't count on Rahne or Terry for backup anymore!"
"Well, people do tend to run from me screaming," Cammie mused.
"Might as well get something out of it. They guys do look good in wet t-shirts," Jane pointed out.
"Now if only I could get drunk enough to properly enjoy it," Cammie said, "Here's a question, you got a chain, like a jewelry one, lying around?"
"I have a silver one, I think." One of the few things Mike had bought her and not stolen back. "Why?"
"I had one to hold this," she held up the old ring, "But it broke."
Jane reached out to gently touch it. "You can have it if you want it. I don't wear it anymore," she offered. She wouldn't miss it. "But..." she got a crafty look. "If I do, you have to go outside and hang for a but."
"Seems like a fair price to pay to keep from fucking with Boss-lady's mind again," Cammie said with a shrug. She didn't want to lose one of the only things she actually had left that tied her to Greg.
"Yaaaay!" Jane squealed, and hopped up. "I'll go get the chain and the guns and be right back!"
"And suddenly this sounds like gang violence," Cammie snarked.
