Julian's anger over what his parents have done finally gets the better of him.

Rated PG-13 due to some mature language.

The tattered letter was becoming more so as Julian landed blow after blow on the punching bag. The tape had already failed three times and it looked like it was about to again. Jules knew that the thin material was too fragile for his telekinesis so he let the sheet, now dampened with his sweat and blood, fall to the floor before picking up a roll of duct tape and re-affixing it to the leathery surface of the bag. He was alone, both literally and metaphorically, in the fitness center. The boundaries of his restraint being pushed and withheld by the fact he didn't want to clean up the mess of another burst bag.

Anger finally got the best of him as his telekinesis reinforced a single punch, breaking the chain and sending the bag bouncing across the room. A primal scream was all he could think to make, believing himself to still be alone.

And in fact, he had been alone until the very last moment. Nico saw the bag flying and passing close to her, but for a moment she almost duck and rolled, just in prevention. Still, she seemed more interested on the young boy making a mess, and being a mess actually. Where a sharp stare would be, a worried expression was present; Nico knew up to some point that kind of anguish, even if she didn't know what was happening to Julian. Kneeling to take the letter, the girl knew better than just opening it, so she simply headed towards the boy, handing him over the half destroyed missive, no words at all; this time, Nico had no idea of how to talk, but she forced to express the only thing she could think.

"What now?" It sounded a little pained, as if she didn't want to know the answer.

Julian was a bit shocked to see her and Dori together, but recalled that the pair had been friends- of a sort- after his hasty and unfortunate departure from his real life almost a year ago. Taking the letter from her he crumpled it up and threw it toward the water cooler. "The fuck do you care for, Minotauru?"

“Are you okay, Julian?” Dori chimed up. She looked worried, she was worried. “What’s wrong?” her eyes were wide. Right now, her hands also itched. So bad. But that was the stitches, and not the worry. “You’re not hurt are you? Ohmigosh, do I have to go get the doctor? I’ll go get the doctor!”

"I'm fine, Dori!" Julian snapped, picking the bag up with his TeeKay and floating it back to the rack.

“No you’re not,” Doreen said, “You’re not fine! You don’t act like this when you’re fine!” she insisted, almost stomping her foot, but that would be childish.

Nico's eyes widened in surprise, and she had to make an effort to keep her hands on her sides. Or at least she kept them there for a moment, the show Julian was putting up finally irritating her entirely. Nico's right hand flew in a perfect arc towards Julian's right cheek, the impact strong enough to make the boy shake his head. She was well aware of how strong was Julian's telekinesis, but if he wanted to attack her, so be it; she wasn't taking any crap from him. "You better think very clearly what are you going to say next", said with a serious tone as she turned to see Dori, apologizing without words.

Julian was in shock over what had just happened. The slap had knocked some sense into him, but he was still behaving non-sensicly as all the punching bags suddenly began to sway. "The fuck was that for, Minoru?!"

Nico had to make an effort to refrain from slaping Julian again. "The fuck do you think it was for? Look, I can see you are clearly upset about something, but treating us like crap won't make things better." She crossed her arms over her chest, almost expecting the boy to start yelling again. "And if you don't want to talk and just be alone, then say so."

“Stop fighting!” Doreen squeaked, “Just stop it. It’s not going to make things better either!”

But Julian very much wanted a fight. He wanted to hit something hard, break down a wall, or in this case a pretentious gothic bitch who had no business being at Xavier's. Doreen was right though, he might get kicked out of school if he hit Nico back- and right now, that's all he had left. "Fine," Keller said flatly, his arms crossing over his chest as the bags swung freely again.

“What’s wrong?” Doreen asked, taking a few steps closer. “Julian, what happened?”

Still seething, Julian tore the letter off the bag and thrust it out toward her. "I'm a fucking orphan is what happened- or might as well be."

Nico moved faster than Dori -she would be rather amazed of this later-, and picked the letter, complete disbelief on every faction of her face; for a moment, she had forgotten the rage on Julian's eyes. Quickly reading its contents, disbelief turned to something else, something similar to understanding, but maybe more basic. "This is...is..." Slowly, she passed the letter to Dori, her eyes turning back at Julian. "This is so fucked up", finally managed to muster, the grasp around her chest tightening. "When did you find out?" Nico wasn't sure if there was a date on the letter, and she certainly didn't want to check it again.

Doreen on the other hand, went to hug Julian. “Ohmigosh!”

"A couple days ago," he replied to Nico while hugging Dori. "And yeah, it's seriously fucked."

“Are you okay?” Doreen asked, not letting go from the death-hug.

"What do you think?" Julian snapped, instantly regretting the tone in which he'd spoken. With a sigh, "I'm sorry Dori, I just...it's not a good situation right now."

"Well, punching a poor bag until it explodes won't help the situation get any better", pointed out the girl as she looked back at the victim chosen by Julian. "Isn't there some sort of person you can talk about your crappy stuff on the mansion? I was almost sure I would end up there myself, but now I'm starting to think the staff might be lacking one or two people..." She wasn't too disappointed of not seeing a psychologist, but maybe Julian needed one to discuss what was going on; actually, the three of them might need some sort of help. "It's a little hard to believe that the three of us got, well, screwed up like this by our families." It was frustrating, and seeing it happen to someone else didn't make it any better.

"Yeah, it sucks, and I always knew they hated the fact I was a mutant, but I never thought they'd actually pull the trigger on...on doing...this," he said; crumpling the letter again for good measure. "Man, there's gotta be something I can do to work this out with them."

"Keep trying to talk to them, maybe?" Dori suggested, "That's what I'm doing with Dad and Ryan." It hadn't worked yet, but it would eventually. Persistence paid off!

"Yeah, maybe," Julian begrudgingly accepted his friends words, unwilling to compromise his anger.

"...Yeah, maybe", added Nico, feeling she had nothing to add. Both of them could work her differences with their parents, and she should just support them in everything she could. "So, instead of staying here building up angst, why don't we go and get something to eat and drink, and then hit the rec room? There must be a movie for times like this."

“I like Doctor Horrible,” Doreen suggested, “It really doesn’t have anything to do with anything, it’s just a good movie.”

Nico nodded, leading the way out of the fitness room before Julian could change his mind. "Sure, Doreen, let's watch that...Dr.Horrible thing; I just hope it's not a comedy or some low budget flick of sorts."
