Jay wakes up in medbay and Hank explains what happened via reports.

"Ah ..." Jay breathed in a hiss, followed quickly with a Jesus Christ as he shifted uncomfortably. Another holy shit followed by another curse of similar language trailed off in another shift when he opened his eyes to see big blue staring back down at him. He tried to lift a hand to run over his face but quickly realized he was pinned down, rather, strapped down.

The notice that Jay's heart rate had spiked had sounded on Hank's netbook when the young mutant woke up, prompting a visit to his young charge's room. "Good morning Jay, or actually good afternoon as it's about 3:15 right now. How are you feeling?"

He cleared his dry throat, lifting his head up only to drop it back down on the pillow. "Like Ah had the world's best blow job. You responsible?" he joked weakly.

A slight chuckle was Hank's only response as he unstrapped Jay's arms and legs before handing him a glass of water. "Sorry, should have had you drink this before you tried to joke around- and I say tried because, well, you could definitely have done better with that one." Hank smiled and pulled up a rolling stool to the bedside, "How are you really feeling?"

The glass was taken gratefully and he pushed himself up, guzzling down the water in three gulps before he answered. "Like a millionbucks," he joked again, though sobered, setting the glass down on the table and slouched back down. "Seriously? Like a dead weight," he grunted. "An' mah heart hurts, tingles too though - mah healin' factor Ah guess." Free hands meant that he could run one over one half of his face and show the depth of his hellish feeling state.

"Careful, there's still some burned tissue that may sting a little bit. That remarkable healing factor of yours has been doing its job and making things easy on me, but it will take some time for you to get back to one-hundred percent health-wise." Hank poured the younger blue mutant another glass of water, "Drink this one a bit slower, please."

The glass was taken, sheepishly and he paused to drink before having to set it aside. "Ah don't remember a damn thing. How'd Ah get here?" he asked. "The last thing Ah remember was Toad's shit hittin' mah face. Did Ah black out or somethin'?"

"If you can't remember anything since then, I guess that you did," Hank chuckled and took his penlight from his breast pocket. "From what I have heard, and mind you that I wasn't there so this is all second hand and from the mission reports-" Hank shined the light in Jay's eyes checking for pupil dilation before moving on to check his heart-rate by hand. "You tore the glob off your face with your wings and as you pivoted around, you struck Mister Lexington with your rather sharp feathers- he's been patched up fine by the way." Hank sat back down, "You then received a jolt of electricity I would estimate to be somewhere between urinating on an electrical fence and getting struck by a bolt of lightning. Caused a heart attack, though it seems your healing factor saved you on that one too."

"Who the hell would urinate on an electrical fence," he asked, absently rubbing his chest again. No wonder he felt like a freight train hit him, although he couldn't recall anything past trying to get the stuff off his face. "Is everyone alright?" he asked somewhat urgently. At least Lex was okay but Tabitha? Zanne? "Ah mean, is Tabs alright?"

"Everyone is fine, Jay," Hank reassured him, trying to reduce the amount of agitation that he was picking up on in the young mutant. "In fact no one from any of the other teams is any worse off than you- though some just by a margin I'm afraid." He motioned toward the door, "I've had a fairly full MedLab recently, not many of them are staying though and it will be nice to have some company who is actually conscious of their surroundings." The appointment for Charles to try telepathy on the boy was scheduled, beyond that, Hank couldn't do much else.

"Ah don't think Ah'll be here that long Hank, but Ah reckon' Ah can fake it another day or two," he joked. Although Jay wanted to get up, he found he couldn't and just rested back down, letting his eyes close for the moment. It was a long time before he reopened them. "Can you call Kyle? Ah'm starved and Ah reckon he'll know what to bring me cause Ah'm starvin."
