As Kurt begins to leave the theater for the night, he is approached by an odd stranger, who asks him some very off the wall questions.
Regan had taken up her position across the street from the small theater early in the day, casting small illusions on the passerby as the day wore on. It had been a long wait, but watching a grown man run screaming down the street because he thought he saw a dinosaur in front of him, or a college girl run up and scream to hug Bradley Cooper, just to realize that it was a lamp post a few seconds later had kept a smile on her face. But the time had come for her to act as looking across the street she saw the same blue man she had seen yesterday. The same blue man who had been shoved into her head years earlier and still haunted her dreams to this day.
Pulling up the collar of her white coat, Regan quickly rushed across the street, holding her hand up in front of her to stop any vehicle that may be coming. Men were always suckers for a short skirt, and she knew they would slow down for her. On the opposite side of the street, she quickly pulled up next to the man, matching his stride. "Starting to get cold isn't it?"
He looked sideways at her, a little surprised to be approached so suddenly, but nodded politely. "It is a little chilly, I suppose. I do not feel it very much."
"Oh really." The girl forced a smile to come to her face. "Well I guess it's not as hard as for some. I heard rumors that a few years ago of a blizzard that was contained inside a room." She knew she wasn't be subtle at all, but the girl quickly turned her face to look at the man's, trying to gauge his reaction.
"You have heard... rumours", he said slowly, meeting her look as he remembered just such an event. "And where might you have heard such rumours?"
"Around." The girl's smile widened as she shrugged. The pause in the man's voice was enough for her mind to take flight and continue to assume. This was her man. She quickly turned back to the building he exited from a few moments earlier. "Are you doing some kind of play?"
"My students are", he told her. "It is good for them to get out of the school, once in a while."
The girl was suddenly taken aback by his statement. "You wouldn't be talking about the school that helps... mutants... would you?"
"That would be it." He eyed her for a moment, considering. "We do our best, at least. Where did you hear of us, if I may ask?"
Oh this was too good to be true. "I was actually on my way to visit the school. I actually have a few... talents myself." She added a grin as he placed her hand on her hip.
"I wondered if you might not, when you mentioned the school", he said with a nod. "You would be going to speak with Professor Xavier?"
"I've just begun my information gathering on the place." A smile overtook her again, as a plan began to formulate in her head. "But I'm sure I could gain a lot simply by watching a few of them interact. I know this may seem like a strange request, but could I maybe come to one of your rehearsals?"
"I would have to ask the children if they do not mind", Kurt said. "But if they are willing, I do not see the harm in it."
"Oh thank you so much." She turned her head to the side for a second. "And would you happen to be a professor at the school?"
"Yes, indeed, of various different subjects. I have been for some years now."
Again, her mind told her to push. "And there wouldn't happen to be another professor there with white hair, would there?"
"White hair?" He frowned slightly, giving her another assessing look. "Ms. Monroe has white hair, but... how would you know that, without her name?"
Regan's smile became that of a Cheshire cat. "More of those rumors that are hanging around." She let out a giggle. "But we can talk more about those when I come to see the practice. If your students don't mind of course."
"If they do not mind." He nodded. "If you meet me here tomorrow, I will give you their answer... and what is your name?"
"You can call me Regan. I will see you tomorrow professor." With a wink she turned a quickly disappeared into the crowd. Her plans sometimes worked out better than she could even imagine.
