A case of mistaken wing identity has Catseye meeting Warren and the two discussing Jay before a game of Chase.

With a shiny toy mouse Kevin had crafted dangling from her mouth by a leather tail, Catseye padded down the mansion stairs in catform. She was on her way back from a nap in the sun room, where she'd found the toy she'd hidden there ages ago, and thought she might play one of the video games in the rec room since she was caught up on her homework. The mouse was destined for another hiding place, this one under the rec room couch.

Stopping short in the doorway, Catseye blinked a few times in surprise at the sight. Wings! Beautiful feathery wings coming out from the couch! Did Jay find some way to change his wings?

All thoughts of hiding her toy abandoned, Catseye let the mouse fall from her mouth and took a running leap over the back of the couch, pouncing playfully on the wings and ending up on the back of a man who definitely wasn't Jay.

Taking a few moments to kick back and relax on the couch, Warren hadn't expected to be interrupted - or at the very least, he hadn't expected a cat to launch itself at him, climbing all over his wings and back. He was startled out of his reverie, straightening up suddenly but not quite leaping out of his chair. He reached back over his shoulder, his hand groping for the cat so he could lift it up off his back and onto the couch.

"Well hello you," he said in that babyish voice that people reserved for, well, babies and pets. "I don't remember seeing you around before." A purple cat was pretty distinctive, he would think.

Catseye wriggled out of his arms and shifted to girlform, blushing to the roots of her blackish-purplish hair. "I am sorry!" she exclaimed sheepishly. "I thought you were Jay I am Catseye and I do not remember seeing you around before either!"

"It's alright," Warren said, after taking a moment to blink at the sudden transformation. "Hi Catseye, I'm Warren. I've been away for a few years, living in California. It's nice to meet you." Without being entirely sure what to do, Warren extended his hand out to her for her to shake.
Catseye shook his hand firmly with a wide grin on her face. "I think your wings are veryverypretty Warren," she purred. "Veryverysoft! Like Jay's wings used to be! So you used to live here before and now you came back? Do you know Jay?"

"Thank you. You make a very cute cat, you know. And a very pretty young lady." He flashed her a grin in return. "Yes, I went to school here, a long time ago. And then I taught here for awhile. In fact, I was Jay's flight teacher for awhile." ... and now he spent far too much time flirting with him. Whups?
The catgirl preened at the comments, liking Warren immediately. "You taught Jay how to fly?" she asked, sounding awed. "Jay is a verygood flier, it is veryfun to play Chase with him. If you taught him does that mean you are better at Chase than Jay?"

"I taught him a few things," Warren said with a careless shrug. "And I don't know, he's gotten pretty good in my absence. Maybe we'll have to play chase sometime, see how I measure up." Warren wasn't entirely sure if he was up to Jay's standards, four years of focusing on a law career rather than your X-Men training would do that to a guy.

"You want to play Chase?!" Catseye asked, purple eyes lighting up. "Do you want to play now?"

"Sure, why not?" He said with a shrug. He wasn't particularly busy right now, and he wasn't one to pass up the opprtunity to spend some time in the air. "You'll have to teach me the rules, it's been a very long time since I've played chase with someone on the ground."

Thinking Warren was her new Favourite Person Ever, Catseye clapped her hands together excitedly. The dark mood that had descended on her since the weekend was temporarily forgotten. "Okay I will teach you Warren!" She took his hand and led him out of the rec room. "You fly as fast as you can and as sneaky as you can and I try to catch you when I am BigCat that is my cougar form and to make it fair you cannot go higher than the tops of the trees okay?"

Warren let the cat girl lead him from the room, a bemused smile on his face. Her enthusiasm for the game was catching, and he was finding himself looking forward to it. "Okay, right. Fast, sneaky, no higher than the tree tops. I can do that." With rules like that, Warren could see why Jay was good at this game. Once they were outside Warren flashed Catseye his best cheeky grin, immediately launching himself into the air and heading for the trees.

"Catch me if you can!"
