Amara invites Bishop out for dinner so she can invite him on the Puerto Rico Christmas trip. Surprise surprise, she makes it through with only a moderate amount of blushing.

Amara was on a mission, which is why this time, she'd initiated catching up with Bishop. She'd called him during her break, asking him to pick her up after work so they could have dinner together. It was finish time now, and she stepped out on the New York street, her eyes immediately finding Bishop towering over everyone and she wove her way through the people to meet him. "Thank you for meeting me," she said with a smile, looking up at him and tucking her arm into his. "The place I made a booking at is just down the street, I hope you don't mind walking." She was under dressed for a New York winter, as usual, the cream and blue blazer she'd paired with a matching skirt and blue shirt definitely not appropriate. Nor were the heels she'd donned - the clothes she wore were definitely moving more upmarket now that she was working for Adrienne.

"I wouldn't complain about a pretty woman asking me out." Bishop rested a hand on Amara's when she tucked her arm into his. "And I'm sure your plan is to buy me a nice dinner and a few drinks to loosen me up. Now you can trap me without a ride and get me back to your place. I know the game." He looked down for her reaction, knowing full well there would be blushing involved.

There certainly was - she wasn't quite as bright red as she might have once been, but she was definitely a little pink. "Considering that my place is a couple of hours away, I think your virtue is safe for the evening." From anyone else that might have sounded like teasing, but despite the slight smile on her face, she was very serious. "But considering that is you that usually organizes what we do together, I thought it would be nice if I took charge for once."

"Maybe that was my plan then. There's no telling." Bishop actually smiled fairly openly when Amara responded the way she did. "Though you did arrange this so I can't drink and you can get a ride back from me. Maybe you're trying to get yourself in a position where you can relax more and I can take care of you?" Sometimes it was hard for him to stop analyzing situations and motivations. The least he could do for someone he cared about was share what he thought, he felt.

Amara laughed a little at that, smiling up at Bishop. "Do you really need an excuse to try and get me to relax?" She guided him around the corner and towards the place where she'd made the booking. "But since you bring it up, there is something in the vein I'd like to ask you about." The conversation had to halt there, as Amara gave the maitre'd her name so they could be seated. Menus were left and they both were seated, Amara not picking up the line of conversation quite yet. Let Bishop be curious.

While Bishop could be patient, being left in the middle of a conversation wasn't one of those times. He waited until they were settled, menus open on the table and alone before he looked across the table to Amara. "What is it you want to ask?" He was a fan of directness and he was glad she was too. He saw rumors get far too out of hand in just about every way possible.

Amara hid a smile, looking up from the menu. "Do you have any plans for Christmas?" She asked to begin with, not waiting for an answer before she plowed on with the rest of the question. "Tabitha and I have been discussing a trip to Puerto Rico with some of the students who do not have families to visit, and I hope you would like to join us."

"Are you asking for a weekend get-away with me?" Bishop set his menu down to give her response his full attention. "To a tropical location that will involve a bare minimum of clothing." He held up a hand to prevent any response from her for a moment. "Will we be sharing a hotel room?" He couldn't contain a smirk as he teased the young blond.

Now that did get a blush out of Amara, and she glanced down again, suddenly flustered. "There will be other people there. And students. And well. Um." She didn't mean it like that! Amara wasn't that sort of girl, honestly.

Bishop laughed softly and for only a moment when she got flustered. Though he did enjoy her polite shyness, he didn't want to harass her about it. "I wouldn't turn you down. I didn't have plans to begin with."

"Oh good!" She said with a bright smile, before realizing how that might have sounded. "Not good that you didn't have plans, although I didn't either. But I am glad you'll be joining us." She glanced back at the menu, though she did already know what she wanted to order. "... I will warn you, I'm a terrible flier. Any height over a few floors and I start to feel off."

"So I should expect you to sit next to me, hold on, and need taking care of?" Bishop shook his head a little as he looked over the menu. He expected that would be the case even if she might not admit it. He would probably not admit to enjoying the idea.

"... I am not quite that bad," she replied, not quite telling the truth. She was getting used to flying thanks to her time spent in the Blackbird, but it still didn't stop that wrenching feeling she got whenever she was disconnected from the earth. "But I do not find flying pleasant, and it would be nice to have someone close by."

"Good thing I get to be that someone." Bishop picked his menu back up scanning over the options before deciding on what to have for dinner. "It's a date." He smiled to himself one more time behind the menu.
